| Great episode! Damn monsters showing up when kappa was going to tell Ushio about his mom! But at least now we know that she is hated by all the monsters and that's why they are after Ushio. |

| Yeah I love this episode ! The plot progress and it seems to be interesting :). Finally an arc starts and this first episode was intense. I am looking forward to watch the second part. |

| If he had the brains to get out of the bus the moment he felt hostility the poor driver dude might not have lost his life. You fucked it up Ushio. Also why do i have the feeling the barrier may not be about protecting Hakumen but about keeping it inside. The youkais may not like it if the barrier actually breaks. Of course there is also the possibility that it is doing both. Protecting it and keeping it away from others. Maybe Hakumen is important to stay alive because it brings balance to the force and shit. There was talk about Yin and yank etc. Lastly it seems hi mother wasn't there for centuries because that other youkai talked about first woman etc. Maybe she reincarnates or something. |
| This was a pretty solid episode, and one that seems to suggest that we're entering a brave new world for the show. For starters we get our first two parter. The episode ends with a pretty alright cliffhanger, it features a cavalcade of monsters and teaches us a little bit more about Ushio's mother and what she's been doing this whole time. It felt like something from old school super hero comics, where villains band together to fight the hero because they're tired of losing fighting him alone. It's a great easy way to raise the stakes and it worked here. I also really liked the kappa we saw in this episode. Like the elder in the last episode he just knows the beast spear would destroy him and acts in extreme fear of it. Plus he had a cool design, it's nice to see this team try their hand at famous Japanese monsters of folklore. Speaking of which the giant blue exposition machine who may be a big showdown next week was pretty cool too. Not sure if he's a famous old legend. I just liked that he kept calling Tora, Nagatobimaru or whatever and that we're seeing Tora change as he hates that name now. I'm glad someone called him out on it, Tora has not been particularly demon like lately. We're only halfway through the first series and he's already practically tamed by Ushio. But who knows after old blue gave him something to mull over that may change in next weeks second part. Though I imagine only temporarily like a relapse. |

| I don't like how people are saying FINALLY THE PLOT STARTS. It's already started since episode 1. Impatience, man, god. Do you not understand that episodic can be used to further a narrative? Why is this so hard to explain to people? Either way, this was great. The pacing was just right and I didn't have any issues with anything. It was cool to see that the hyped Hakumen is actually an enemy to Youkai. In other animes, I couldn't help but feel that they'd all be worshipping him or something. This was a new take, and a far, far more interesting one. I'm sure Ushio's mother has a good reason for protecting Hakumen No Mono, but we'll have to wait and see. |

| Why are the youkai assuming that she is protecting Hakumen no Mono when she is keeping him closed in that barrier, are they stupid or what? If he is that strong he wouldn't have accepted the help of a human, that's what I'm thinking now, maybe I'm wrong. And she is 1000 years old, cool. |

Sankyu, kappa! Saya is back! Yes! Her eyes look better now. Visiting hours? He in jail? Omamori is back. Kagari's fine self is back. Yes! Dem Kagari legs. Ushio's mom created the barrier all those years ago? Dat Kagari back, arm, and legs. Tora just said stop calling him Nagatobimaru and you still calling him Nagatobimaru. Awesome episode. Waifu's returning and kicking ass. |
