When I first saw the first two episodes, I thought it was gonna be the classic adventure story where they get stronger and fight the final enemy or "boss" you could say. But I was far from right... The last thing I thought was that it would turn into a mystery and get me hooked. I'm glad I didn't know anything about it when I started watching. :D Also, whenever you hint at something I assume you know what you're talking about and then I go back to look at what you hinted at. By doing that I rethink everything. XD |

Just a little bit though. Apart from the killing and torturing she's positively adorable (and I don't care what anyone says, glowing snakes are awesome). |

One thing I disagree with, concerning Nashetania and Goldov, is that mostly everyone is assuming that if she is revealed to be the 7th, Goldov will still follow her. At first, I myself wasn't completely sure as to whether or not his loyalty would be that blind, but this episode furthers the thought that he won't go that far. The princess just asked him to help prove Adlet's innocence, who is currently the main suspect. I mean, if he won't help her to simply clear the suspect's name, then why would he serve the actual 7th Brave? At best, if she's revealed by Adlet or someone else to be the culprit, I feel that the most he'll do for her is ward off any initial attacks, so that we can get an explanation for her role as the 7th Brave. |

I'm 90% sure adlet was holding back and not trying to kill hans which is why he is in this situation right now. This won't be probably mentioned in the anime but it was in the novel. Adlet couldn't keep up with Hans, he is too strong. Adlet was only on defensive the whole time because Hans didn't give him a tiny bit of time. |

Goldov dont want to help Adlet because he wants Nashetanya for himself. There is no deep thinking behind this, he just "loves" here. |

I completely agree, not saying Hans couldn't beat Adlet... But it would hurt Adlets cause even more if he did. Even Nashetania start to lose trust in him if he killed Hans. Three times we were told this episode that he can't. Flamie said he was average. Someone said he isn't a threat without his gear. Hans said he could take him. Four if you count Adlet himself saying he would have to run away, although we don't know why exactly he said that. However given he can throw his entire body out of the way of a thrown knife points to him being superhuman. So who knows. Like Superman he's probably as strong as the plot demands and could solo the Demon King if he was teleported there right now. I'm pretty sure everyone seems to think Adlet is a scrub who can only use tricks to fight, which is obviously not the case, so, because they're underestimating him, Hans said so confidently he could take him. Fremie did say he's an average man, but then wondered why he was so strong. I fail to see any plot armor saving Adlet so far... |
5 main aspects I base my ratings on: 1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it? 2. Is it better than Breaking Bad? 3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it? 4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL? 5. Is it actually good? Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant... |

The action was fine, and the development between Flemy and Adlet was lovely, hope they get more and more spotlight. I also liked the overall intense atmosphere of the episode. Certainly, I didn't expect it to become a show like Danganronpa focused in one place, but with a more vast world scenary. |

Helbram said: You know what's funny HellBram, that Sokah's thought on the "irrelevant things" may actually be written a drunk man drown in rushed animes like DanMachi & SAO which is hilarious. Sokah said: Helbram said: Volume one of the novels was spent ENTIRELY on the barrier dilemma You may have noticed this isn't a novel. You're comparing apples to cellphones. Putting elements into a show that have nothing to do with the resolution of the show is bad writing. It's bad writing in a novel too, come to that. They have 4 hours of time to get the story across. Squandering that uselessly on irrelevant things is called a slice-of-life which this show is not listed as. Well, as I said before: If you are looking for a fast paced fantasy that focuses more on the action elements than actual world- or character building then this isn't your show. So instead of moping over that just drop it and go watch something else, like SAO or SDS or whatever. But come to think of it, the first one wasn't entirely solved in the first season so that's a bad idea. If I get to have my say though, adapting the 6 current novels (about 4000+ pages) into a 12 episode anime would be a terrible idea. And with this type of show, if the plot is just going to enter anime-only territory to appeal to the shonen-ecchi lovers and leave everything out of canon, the company might as well have made a new independent anime instead Glad to see the anime is still loyal to the LN. It needs to be after all. The story pace is what brought me upon to reading and watching the anime. It isn't that common for animes to build up this slow and it is nice since you don't reach the end of the anime and you don't know a sh*t about the characters that saved the world(Oh hail avengers plox ¬_¬). I kinda know why I enjoyed Monster's pacing so much. It makes you enjoy the current events foreshadowing and building up for the final moments which just make you feel bad when you know you're finishing watching the anime. I wish the fight could be a bit longer and better animated, but as a LN reader, I can understand. The pace was enjoyable too, though there was a bit much talking, even if it was all necessary. I wish they could do multiple cours. This could work really well as a multi season anime, since each volume works so well. |

Plot, action, AND backstory?! Damn, things are really getting moving in this series now. I still have hardly any clue about who the seventh might be. My greatest suspicions lie with Nachetanya, but there is the possibility that it's actually Adlet (seeing the devil when given his crest), Hans (he's just too creepy to be seen as the 'decoy', maybe a double bluff?) and Maura (Due to her position of information and power, she's the one everyone would be least likely to expect, as well as somewhat being the leader of the group, which is surely the position the actual fake would ideally be in). If it turns out to be Fremy I'm gonna break something because she is BEST GIRL |

It's a good thing to know a bit about Fremy and Adlet's past. So here is my question again: Why did no one suspect Nashetania? Also in this episode, again...the way she act is way too suspicious. Nashetania say that Hans is the fake? Can't trust everything a mere princess say. My money still on Nashetania as the fake hero. |

He'd already dropped the show for bad pacing and now he felt like a super genius for doing so. He couldn't understand how a show framed as assaulting the demon king could get derailed into being about getting out of a room. 12 episodes is 2 full length movies worth of time. The Avengers could have saved the earth twice in the same time. The show was never "framed as assaulting the demon king", it's a mystery. Adlets flashback was interesting. (asshole Villagers...or at least i'm assuming they're the ones who killed his family...considering the Fiend left) Also was this the first time they explained that fiends could talk? I mean considering they could mate with humans, it'd make sense that speech could be possible as well i suppose. Suspicion list (bold=suspect, Crossed= no suspicion, nothing=just on my list) This is just my thoughts on each individual character. Nashetania This isn't really from evidence, more like her past actions still elude me. For instance attacking Adlet back in..(i think it was episode 2?) for really no reason. (i assumed attempt at assassination but realized he might be tougher than she thought) and the whole "freak out" when the fog came up in which she subsequently destroyed the "page". Adlet While it would be interesting to have the MC turn out to be the villain, i don't see that happening here. While i do find other peoples theories about the "tentacle thing" touching Adlet before he got his mark = he's the villain; i just find it hard to believe. Fremy This episode made me cross Fremy off the list, as i believe she is going to turn into the character that has Adlets back(despite that "next we meet ima kill you"). Mora Mora seems to have both the knowledge of the shrine, which wouldn't surprise me if she knows how to undo the mist and isn't telling everyone, and the fact that she's kinda the one ordering everyone around (essentially controlling the entire situation from the front lines). Goldof ... honestly Goldof seems so bland to me that its either an amazing ruse to make you think he good when he's not or....he's just good and is really bland (imo) Hans & Chamo both are quick to kill and both have an air of suspicion (despite the obvious points) But Chamo with those odd "glowing snakes" has put me in a position to suspect her more. i feel like Hans will either be crossed off my list next episode or will be higher on it. |

If I would be the demon king, I would have conquered the world by the time the kids are playing in the fog. Like really, do they expect the fog to dissappear just because they killed the 7th? Dear Adlet, you cant save everyone. This hasn't the harem tag. That cliffhanger... can't you think of a better way to keep the tension? As if hans could kill Adlet, he has magical plot armor. I feel sorry for the goddess of fate. She has to choose between psychos, spoiled bitches, and dumb kids. PS: Im mad because I dont want to wait another week just to see nothing really happen again. I like talking and background for characters, but we only have 5 episodes left. get your shit together. You can still suspect each other when you have finally managed to turn off the fog. Yeah, the fog will actually disappear if the 7th is killed. And, well, it's not really a MAGICAL plot armor this time ... Fog gets turned off after they find out who the 7th is. Which will be the 12th/11th episode. He fully awakens in 30 days, so the Braves have that time lapse to seal/kill him once again before he revives completely. The anime won't be rushed. If you don't like slow pace anime, drop it. It won't be worth your time or our time to keep replying to this type of posts that aren't constructive or useful in any sense. An even better reason he doesn't conquer anything is that just like the fog doesn't let the rokka get out, it completely block the fiends from entering and exiting their land since it's right at the exit. How do you want to conquer anything without army stuck in your own land? ^^' Actually, I think the fog doesn't really make a difference once Majin awakens, otherwise what point would there be to the Flowers ? But yeah, they do have like 20 more days till he awakens. Since the Majin has yet to awake completely, the fog is at least sealing away the Kyoumas trying to pass over to the fortress and the other lands. ttcchen said: So you prefer action than story? Another great episode this show continues to feel fresh and interesting. Beautiful artwork let down by some clunky animation during the fight scene with Hans. I look forward to Rokka every week. |

I was enjoying the dialogue heavy episodes before but I was expecting a lot more from this one. Their backstories were cool I guess but screw that get to the present. I guess there should be no doubt that there will be a second season by the pacing of this. |

This season is gonna cover the 1st volume and they will probably leave it at that. |

Sokah said: Nice of Hans to do a "before I kill you Mr. Bond" and jump on Adlet to gloat rather than just kill him. Pacing continues to be horrible. We got shown backstory that has nothing to do with getting out of the barrier. When I told a guy they're spending the entire season in the barrier his jaw literally dropped. There is this guy called Zen on Randomc that thinks he's also a super genius at story telling. He lamented on the lack of depth in regards to this show, and even criticized the entire Light Novel series based on the 1st and 2nd LN. Oh the other hand, there is you - someone who believes that the those "depths", AKA character development, are completely irrelevant to the show because it should be about killing the Majin. Hm. Both of you believe that you are objectively right about your own criticisms. I think you should go and argue with him instead. Perhaps you might even reach an agreement on how bad the show is, and proceed to drop it along with putting in an extremely negative review on it. If I want to watch a typical shounen anime about killing the Demon Lord, I think I would watch something else. The current development are important to the events later on. I believe you don't like One Piece as well? Man, that show is supposed to be about being the Pirate King. Why the hell did Luffy go around eating meat and doing stupid crap for 700+ episodes? The pacing is extremely poor, and it's extremely poor story writing. Oh, I believe this series has its own flaws, but not the ones you talked about. I'm tired of critics going insane when their criticism gets debunked. I think it's best to just ignore what people think about this series, and try to enjoy it yourself. If you enjoy it, that's great! If you don't, then that's fine too. Arguing with you is pointless. There are people like you who want it to simply be about killing fiends, and cut out all the mystery elements. There are also those who think the story is lacking and proposed the ideas of making Hans the father of Chamo (yep, it's that Zen guy), or add some soap opera kind of BS to the story as "depth". Since most of the critics believe everything they say is 100% objective, it's going to make a lot of people insane since those criticisms sometimes contradicts each other. That's why, don't come here and argue about what is bad/good about the show. Go argue with other critics. I'm pretty sure you won't reach an agreement. Even though you guys hate the show, the reasons you guys hate the show are the opposite of each other. Everyone, it's just a waste of time listening to other people's opinion. If someone wants to be a master critic, I suggest them to go and actually study Japanese Literature before doing so. Also, please do it with other critics. It's annoying to confuse the audience. I'm still waiting for the Vol 6 to arrive at my place. Sigh. I enjoy it, that's all. I just hope you don't go crazy and start screaming "FKING FANBOY" all around the internet. It seems a lot of the so-called "critics" go crazy whenever someone else disagrees with them - which is quite ironic in nature. |

Not a big fan of the pacing of this episode. I don't like how a conversation that took up 4-5 minutes of the previous episode bled into this episode and took up a significant portion of it(I didn't bother to go back and check, but judging by how fast the episode felt it must have been at least half) and was 90% exposition and flashback. I'm not saying that exposition is bad or anything, but I don't feel like we got anything from Fremy's retelling of her story that wasn't already clear from her initial explanation in the temple, aside from the fact that her family betrayed her. A lot of the rest probably should have been cut, tbh. There's being faithful and then there's considering the medium you're adapting to - if similar treatment is afforded to every cast member, there will only be like 1-2 episodes left to actually tackle the present storyline. Anyway, I'm now at 70% Nashetania, 30% Mora. I'm starting to think that my problems with Mora's plan is just bad writing at this point because it has not been addressed once in the entire series thus far. Nashetania's actions are just far too questionable and her pointing the finger at the obvious red herring either is the writer painting her as being incompetent(this is different than Adlet's theory because he's been backed into a corner and is struggling to come up with an explanation for why he isn't the 7th because he knows he isn't) or it's the obvious move to sow dissent and stay consistent with her previous actions. The only problem I have with this logic is that it doesn't quite make sense why she'd support Adlet in the first place other than dramatic effect because she's under zero suspicion(so it's not really like she is pocketing him so that she can point and say 'look I was the only one to believe in him and he was actually innocent' later on) to begin with, it sort of is just grandstanding to gloat about how safe she is by playing the contrarian.
