THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The world fantasy of this series is pretty fascinating. Again, we see more of Adelt's past through his talk with Fremy.

A beautiful sight as well at night with the fireflies. I feel like he and Fremy got a bit closer this episode. Hell, she even provides him with a valuable object of hers. Hans still planning with the others. Is it also just me or is he getting along with Chamot more than I had expected? But yeah, a nice transition episode. Hans' assassination and fighting skills are also shown against Adelt in a fitting way imo. He moves fast on his feet~

Another good episode building up Adlet and Flamie. Nice action with Hans there at the end. Can't wait for next week.

Was Nashetania playing dumb or are those bunny ears just for show?

The Bunny ears Nashetania has a type of accesory or ornament that were often used by high position people(A priest of the Mayas/Aztecas). It is not an accesory to make her look "cute".
You can assume why she is using one of those, I mean she is a princess after all.

Such an evil cliffhanger

Finding out about what exactly Adlet and Fremy had to go through during their pasts was pretty sad but now I see why those two have great chemistry together and I totally dig it

Nashetania must be in love with Adlet because he's all she ever thinks about now lol, I still ship them together so I like that she isn't condemning him but man I still don't know about her and Goldov continues to be suspicious

Looks like things are slowly coming to a climax now.....The action bits with Hans and Adlet were decent and the the other exposition bits were great as always

Amazing ep. Backstories for Adlet and Fremy + Some Adlet vs Hans

I bet everyone expected Adlet's village to have been wiped out by Kyouma not that they were convinced by one to join the Demon lord and chasing after Adlet to kill him. Breaking cliches ftw. Tgurneu being voiced by Ishida Akira was awesome!

It's awesome to see how much Atro taught Adlet. I'm just gonna say PAY ATTENTION TO THAT HE LEARNED SCIENCE and Fremy being surprised :P

Fremy's past is quite messed up. Like she said pretending to love her just to betray is way crueler than treating her like shit from the start.

Anyway loved their conversation and bonding moments. Adlet even mentioned the romantic part and that he told her something he even didn't tell Nashetania XD I SHIP!! OTP <3

Hans vs Adlet is one of my fav parts of the volume and it was pretty cool so far. Hope they up the animation and art a bit nxt ep. Hans's moves are insanely agile.

It was nice to learn a little bit more about Adlet and Fremy's pasts. Hans has some pretty damn good fighting skills, makes sense considering he's an assassin. And he's really fast and light on his feet, which is fitting for someone who acts like a cat.

Nashetania's reaction toward the end of the episode makes me think she's the seventh, but I'm still not sure.....

Some more backstory for Adlet and Flamie. That talking fiend seems interesting. I'm beginning to like Hans, he's quirky and fun. :D Funny how those three interacted and are the only three I'm sure are innocent. Nashetania still seems most guilty to me, ignoring the ruckus at the temple and trying to convict Hans...

Fremy's type of character usually annoys me and I am certainly not a fan of her but I like how matter-of-factly and ambiguous she is.
At this moment I suspect quite a few characters - chamo is doing shady shit in the forest, Goldof is acting strange, Moira took leadership awfully fast. The only one I don't really suspect now is Hans, but he does have a very comfortable position if he is seventh and he did sow all the suspicion around Adlet.
TBH I'd wish more character took Nashetanya's standpoint in being ambivalent to the idea of Adlet being the 7th, but others were QUITE QUICK to accept that as a fact.

Very interested in where this is going and the sense of paranoia between the characters is great.

Adlet and Fremy talk about their pasts more with each other; their development is going well (though I can't say their characterization is that deep). Hans as a possibility for being the seventh one makes it too good to be true, but it's nice seeing him go against Adlet.

Hans interested before, but now he's walking smug and irritating clichee. I cannot wait for him to be owned by Adlet or someone else. Having said that, it'd be too obvious if he's the 7th. I think the princess is the one.

very surprised about Tgurneu's voice. I was expecting about everything but that type of voice. I personally do not think that a deep voice fits him, so why not.
Our fiend General was very very Oshare today. That was quite a nice hat there. And well, greetings are very important indeed.

There are huge animation problems in this episodes, the anime is really becoming a mess on that point. The fight at the end severely suffered from it, which is usually very bad news when they can't even find the properly skilled animators to do properly a fight of around one minute and needs to ask for unskilled freelancers instead (since that's what it is really in those case).
Say what you want about CGI but at least the 3D CGI isn't betraying us so far.

Fremy escaped the problem and that's about the only character who was properly animated and drawn almost in every scene this episode. Good performance of Aoi Yuuki this episode. That moment when she becomes emotional about her mother was strong. Last episode the best voice acting in the episode was Miyuki Sawashiro imo (young adlet) but this time it's definitely Aoi yuki.

So let's see what they can do next episode with the fight scene. They're doing very good as respecting the novels but my god the animation is becoming worrisome. How will they do the next episode properly at that rate, that's beyond me. Get yourself together, Passione.

Wow Nashetania really wants Adlet to stay alive. Not sure if that makes her more or less suspicious... And what was Chamot playing with in the forest? Why is she not helping with anything?

Nice action and cliffhanger at the end

Glad to see Han's cat sword style animated. The best is to come now, less dialogue and more fightings in between the Braves.
I can't help but feel that the expressions that Adlet makes are just awesome. The part when he asks Fremy if she really feels jealous, it was like a slap to him and he doubted for a moment.
If Fremy tried to kill him there, she would have got it done fast.

I'm actually a bit disappointed in this Ep, but it was mostly due to animation rather than pacing (Unless that last cliffhanger is the same scene as I think it is and they've skipped a good 2 minutes of extremely important character development and relationship building).
Having "a certain Kyoma" in terrible CGI kind of irked me. Especially since he looked so awesome and detailed in his 2 second appearance in the op (He is supposed to be such an important character so WHY). His voice surprised me too since I expected more of a "gentle old man" voice

Nice of Hans to do a "before I kill you Mr. Bond" and jump on Adlet to gloat rather than just kill him.

Pacing continues to be horrible. We got shown backstory that has nothing to do with getting out of the barrier. When I told a guy they're spending the entire season in the barrier his jaw literally dropped. He'd already dropped the show for bad pacing and now he felt like a super genius for doing so. He couldn't understand how a show framed as assaulting the demon king could get derailed into being about getting out of a room. 12 episodes is 2 full length movies worth of time. The Avengers could have saved the earth twice in the same time.

Don't like mystery shows, don't watch mystery shows.
The synopsis never once stated that a demon king would be defeated during the show's run and even the source material hasn't come that far yet.
What it did say though was that a certain person would be framed and if this helps; one of the (if not THE) main antagonists was introduced this episode.
They are currently just aiming for an adaption that's true to the source material. And it IS at the moment. Volume one of the novels was spent ENTIRELY on the barrier dilemma

So having the motivations of 2 characters is irrelevant in a detective story? Wow, you're such a genius. I'm sure you're thinking that giving clues and giving answer to the reader/watcher about what is possible and what is not so that he can solve it himself (as all the previous episodes did) were abslutely useless as well!
You're going to revolutionise the way a detective story is written. " a detective story is peoples fighting and then someone is killed and that's the culprit okay?" Interesting and genius indeed!

Man, do I love Hans.

Every time he forces a "nyaaa" I laugh a bit. I wouldn't even be mad if Hans kills Adlet. I enjoyed hearing Adlets backstory, I normally hate backstories, but his and Fremy's were quite enjoyable.

On the subject of the 7nth brave, we know it's not Fremy or Adlet. I highly doubt it's Hans and Goldov. At first I thought it could be Goldov but when he second guessed Nashetania, my suspicions of him died down.

Still considering how Chamo or Mora could be the 7nth, I agree with the people who think it's Nashetania. I also just don't like her character, the moment I saw her bunny ears and outfit I did not like her. So I'm biased.

soo all theories aside. If I would be the demon king, I would have conquered the world by the time the kids are playing in the fog.
Like really, do they expect the fog to dissappear just because they killed the 7th?

Dear Adlet, you cant save everyone. This hasn't the harem tag.

That cliffhanger... can't you think of a better way to keep the tension? As if hans could kill Adlet, he has magical plot armor.

I feel sorry for the goddess of fate. She has to choose between psychos, spoiled bitches, and dumb kids.

PS: Im mad because I dont want to wait another week just to see nothing really happen again. I like talking and background for characters, but we only have 5 episodes left. get your shit together. You can still suspect each other when you have finally managed to turn off the fog.

You may have noticed this isn't a novel. You're comparing apples to cellphones. Putting elements into a show that have nothing to do with the resolution of the show is bad writing. It's bad writing in a novel too, come to that.

They have 4 hours of time to get the story across. Squandering that uselessly on irrelevant things is called a slice-of-life which this show is not listed as.

I was hoping they'd actually show what exactly happened to Adlet's village, but I guess that'll be done later on. It was a bit of a slow episode, which lacked the tension of the previous ones, but I still liked it thanks in no small part to Hans stealing the show and pissing everyone off.

The fight, which should have been the highlight of the episode, turned out to be underwhelming because of the terrible art, though I can't deny Hans' moves were quite cool. Looking forward to next episode, I assume the average man is Adlet, but the genius could be anyone really.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Also, did peoples notice around chamo when she was playing in the forest? :o

Oh, and the curve ball about Adlet's back story. A thing I find amusing is to read the hater's comment about what they think is "predictable" since "it's obviously like that so cliché"
Let's see, we got quite a bit already, but the "well that's the cliché back story about his family and village being murdered by fiend" Tokoro de, dokkoi! Not at all, the village went to leave inside the kyouma territory after one single kyouma went to see them with pacific and polite behaviour (even politely saying hello, did you see that :] ) and it's actually the villagers themselves who killed Adlet's friends and "mother" .
No massacre from the fiend.
Well, the haters need to keep trying, they'll find one correct predictable cliché sooner or later. For now they're mostly amusing though :D .

Well the author like to do this on everything. That's one reason why that show will not get popular. Peoples looks at chara design, at the synopsis, and expect things that aren't true. So peoples who would be pleased avoid the show, and peoples that won't will look at it and being disturbed by the direction things goes.

Ooooh I insulted you? How about you report me then, that's against the rules of the board you know.
Or perhaps.. I didn't insult you? Aaah yes, I think that's more like it.

Adlet was already in position to fight after the thrown knives. So no matter how much time he wait, his attack won't work better depending on it. If anything, waiting longer after the first attack is in Hans' advantage, since Chamo is roaming around. Adlet is the one who doesn't want the fight to last long enough for another brave to come since they're working in pair. I thought that was obvious enough to not do it in my previous answer, my bad about that.

Three times we were told this episode that he can't. Flamie said he was average. Someone said he isn't a threat without his gear. Hans said he could take him. Four if you count Adlet himself saying he would have to run away, although we don't know why exactly he said that.

However given he can throw his entire body out of the way of a thrown knife points to him being superhuman. So who knows. Like Superman he's probably as strong as the plot demands and could solo the Demon King if he was teleported there right now.

Princess obviously knew (or at least, correctly guessed) that Hanz and Adlet are fighting and tried to lead Goldov away from the temple.
My personal guess is she hopes that Hanz kills Adlet.
In this situation, Hanz (if he is at least little bit clever) would try to play "before I kill you Mr. Bond"
Hanz is clever enough to be manipulative the both ways and actually triggering the moment where 7th must to reveal himself.

Well, as I said before: If you are looking for a fast paced fantasy that focuses more on the action elements than actual world- or character building then this isn't your show. So instead of moping over that just drop it and go watch something else, like SAO or SDS or whatever.
But come to think of it, the first one wasn't entirely solved in the first season so that's a bad idea.

If I get to have my say though, adapting the 6 current novels (about 4000+ pages) into a 12 episode anime would be a terrible idea. And with this type of show, if the plot is just going to enter anime-only territory to appeal to the shonen-ecchi lovers and leave everything out of canon, the company might as well have made a new independent anime instead
