| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Is the video page broken for anyone else? Takanobu Mizuno is the director of this short and he works at Kamikaze Douga, which is the company responsible for the opening animation of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" (2012) and the two seasons of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders". The writer for this short is Goichi Suda, also known as Suda51. He is the CEO of the video gaming developing company Grasshopper Manufacture, which has put out titles such as "Lolipop Chainsaw" and "Killer is Dead" in recent years. |

That'd explain why Tokio's power looked similar to Za Warudo, although it was nowhere near as epic as the original. |

| I'd guess this was about experimenting with changing from one kind of animation to another over and over rather than anything else. |

| Weirdest cannon shot I've ever seen. Would seem the girl was blind, not sure if Tokyo was an alien or maybe something else. Was somewhat interesting. |

| If I knew Suda51 was behind this I would have gotten back to watching them a lot sooner. He needs to work on a full series asap, he just can't fully shine with a short. |

| Well, that was just... weird. I get it they wanted to fit in as many different styles as possible but it didn't quite work as a whole. I dunno, if you want to do short with impact on viewers first, make sure your piece makes sense at least. And no, this doesn't qualify even as a dream. |

| That is some wicked hair. Then there was that Voices of a Distant Star feel. Also, I saw at least four different types of animation in this one short. Whoa. Then the Earth was under attack. Then the giant cannon that fired what was essentially rainbow puke and unintelligible junk. Then the sparkles. And then the monster was a space kitten. Then the boy carried the girl off to Neverland which was a prism moon with a smiley face on it. Uh. So from Takanobu we got the flamboyancy and from Suda51 we got...everything else. That explains so much. |
