| Here's my only big problem with the story FOR ME so far and it really got to me this episode.: It's that they're 14. The dialogue in this anime is superb and I just cannot buy that it's freaking 14 year olds that are this socially mature and understanding towards one another. I know this is something that is common in animes but I can't help but feel it's so much more emphasized in this series. If they were AT LEAST 16 that would make it so much more believable for me but hell they aren't even out of elementary school. Ah well, I don't live in Japan and they always seem to be ahead of the curb so for all I know that's the norm for elementary school students. I'm pretty sure at 14 most kids aren't even halfay done puberty so IDK aughh I'm just ranting at this point; Again this doesn't detract from my overall enjoyment that much it's just me nitpicking.. Once again cannot wait for the next episode! |

| Yeah I wasn't this mature when I was 14. The 14-year-old boys in my school made penis jokes every day, not philosophical talk about music. But hey, I'm not complaining at all. It's great seeing mature preteen characters. Great build up episode. I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get to hear any of the piano trio's (the two rivals and Kousei) performances but the pacing was done well so I'm not gonna complain. I'm also enjoying how the romance is being dealt with, actually. bjorno said: Wow that pace was so slow.... I was like hurry up don't give is a shitty cliffhanger and yep, "To be continued"... | Everyone taking Ls. Pretty good episode. Poor Watari. Felt sorry for him. Not as many deep quotes, but got some back story on the rivals. I hate/love Kaori. She the type of girl you need in your life, but can't have cause she got a man. Like how Kousei is using the cat as as his inner voice. Damn cliffhanger. Now as great as the last ep. but still good. 4/5. |

| Better luck next time in high school, Watari. The contest starts. Good encouragement as always from Kaori. The rivals are beginning their move to beat Kousei. I hope Takeshi and Emi can be somewhat of a challenge for Kousei if he manages to play like he once did in the past. |

Arima has high expectations due to his past reputation, but to us, he's essentially the underdog. Well, we know the two main competitors to look out for in the next episode. |

| Damn that cliffhanger! Was looking forward to see him playing. Oh well, next week it is. Definitely building up a great rivalry between those three. And also the relationship buildup between Arima and Kaori's just betting better and better. Can't wait for next week. |

| The competition has begun. They're all scared but they'll do their best to win. The episodes is just getting long with nothing really special happens. I saw that cliffhanger coming. Takeshi might be really good at playing piano. |

| Looks like the rivals appear. Of course Kousei never paid any attention to them. I'm sure they've improved drastically over Kousei however. I doubt Kousei will win. It has been too long, he can't hear the notes. There are too many things riding against him. But I wouldn't be surprised if he wowed the audience with a style that is unlike the human metronome he is well known for. |

| Sad Kousei is sad and has weird dreams T.T Watari fangirls... and his team lost as well... Watari... dem feelings bro T.T Kousei should just try to play as lively as Kaori. Awww, Kaori was worried :3 Damn, Kousei's not feeling well after seeing neko-san :/ Another sad story from Kousei T.T Ah, his rivals have also arrived. LOL, Kousei's reaction... priceless... he doesn't even know his rivals XD. Watari is out and sleeping already XD. Aw, c'mon, we have to wait another week before we get to hear Aiza and the rest play... T.T |

| Nice episode. Poor Wakari for not making that shot. Kousei thinking too much about the competition and passing on meals. Cannot wait to hear how his competitors play. |
