Wow, the OST/music of this show is great. Really enchanting with everything going on. In contrast with the previous episode, I thought this one was more at home with Ronja and her family in the first half.

The Harpie returns to this episode as well. Good adaptation of the fantasy and nature themes. Was kinda fun to see Ronja swim too.

Those harpies still freak me the hell out. Ronja should be way more careful, some of the stuff she is doing is dangerous. Her dad will probably get mad at her next episode.

The old man is pretty awesome! The song was good too.

Ronja challenging the many dangers of the forest! Successfully scaring off the gray dwarves!
Also to taunt the harpies and run away ^^
Going home to explore the castle. Even it if was brightly lit, I would be scared to venture in myself!
Wanting to jump the hell's gap, the preview with them fully conquering the gap too!
The boy living on the other part of the castle!

Old man is pretty funny with his old antics. That fart though.. XD

I like the lullaby Ronja's mom was singing, even though the lyrics are quite strange.

Ronja is leveling up as a forest adventurer; shoo off those gray dwarves just fine. (^^)
Though, provoking those harpies wasn't necessary. Cool to see her swim btw. I suppose the skill came to her naturally.

Loved the cave exploring scenes. Noticed the tunnels were perfectly fitted for Ronja's height. Coincidence? O.o
She is pretty daring to try jumping from one end to the other, despite the Hell's Gap in between! :O

New kid appears. He probably has been stalking Ronja for a while. I can almost sense an early romantic development.

the harpies is more scarier in the swedish film... and the gray dwarfs... and if its like this I cant ship Birk with Ronja... they are too young, Im quite sad.... BUT it is still really beautiful. I think the backgrounds in the second part turned out gorgeous! and you get a ghibli wibe still after its animated in CGI :D

edit, I love how they pronounce the names xD skalle per is bald Per in english.. But they did a miss... If he called bald, why do he have so much hair? xD

I love the lullaby Ronja's mom sings, the atmosphere and the strange lyrics, everything about it. The harpies still freak me out though.
The dad's reaction in the preview is probably anger at the new boy lol

Haha the grey dwarves are nothing now to Ronja :D I'm glad she was raised to be fearless, but dang, she was intentionally riling up the harpies, which I wouldn't do if I were her. Mattis and Lovis have already told her that they're very dangerous, not to mention, creepy too. "Don't fall into Hell's Gap." That doesn't mean you should try jumping over it!!! Though it looks like it's the other kid who's going to be in trouble next episode.

Lol though when they were trying to explain to Ronja why the guards attack them all the time.

This episode was lovely. The characters are captured so well that I feel for them. I'm scared for Ronja, I'm happy for her--HER DAD IS STILL THE BEST CHARACTER <3 When he tears up, I swoon. He is amazing.

I'm excited for this new character. Can't wait for next week <3

The inevitable Phase 3 - you love your parents, and listen to them, yet harpies are to be challenged and Hell's Gap to be taken over. Doing stuff behind your parents' back is always a plus, hoho. And that firm belief adults have that the steep rocks around the castle cannot be climbed up. What do they know ^^;

I remember in episode 2 the Borka gang gave up on their prey in the same time Mattis ditched everything to feed his daughter, so a creature "who is like Mattis", and lives nearby:

For the record, I got that Lovis meant there were "boys" and "girls" the second time around. Hilarious how she gave no other examples :D

This episode. Omg.

I gotta admit, I don't think they really catch the nature of the woods creatures.. they aren't nearly as scary as in the swedish movies. I kinda miss that suspense and the feeling of actually being afraid of those, then again, the forest has a much darker mood in the live action movies in general.

The scenerys in this show are so incredibly beautiful tho, the beginning of the 2nd half were so pretty.

Alright now, fangirling incoming: OMG THERE'S BIRK AND HE'S JUST AS ADORABLE AS EVER AND I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG OMFG. I'm so happy right now, you have no idea. That guy was like the crush of my childhood. >w<

that kid tryin to act all cool
"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

First part of the EP was okay nothing special BUT the scenery as always was just marvellous. Second half was really great, I thought the harpies were going to catch her just before she would jump into the lake, luckily that did not happen :3

preview looks interesting: Ronja's farther goes into saiyajin mode D: looks seriously angry, then again... by the looks of it, Ronja is playing with the dead by jumping that seamlessly endless gap

The lullaby part was so entrancing.
They all have such love and admiration for Ronja that I felt it.

Finally Birk turns up. It was getting boring.

Was Ronja that stupid in the movie?
Seriously, she does not much more than doing stupid things that could very well kill her, stare at stuff and then giggle. Can she even talk for more than two sentences?

Now I'm going to have to hunt down the Swedish films.

The harpies are pretty cool and I like their screech/laugh and menacing speech.

So far I've been happy with the way the forest and wildlife is realized (I'm not familiar with the novels or previous adaptations). I love hiking and forest rambling and when I come across animals I have the same need to stop for a moment, though I don't laugh out loud,

I'm wondering if the whole story will take place during her childhood or whether we'll see Ronja grow into an Adult

GodDAMNit. So many reactions I've had. And the first one was WORRY for Ronja. Shit Jesus Christ I was freaking out when she was climbing that rock. That's BANGKOK DANGEROUS.

For once, I've felt adventure in anime. The OP just sounds so pure and carefree like Ronja, and Ronja herself is freaking adorable oh my god I love her she's great FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. Her mom is another great character. A dignified woman. Where do you get that in anime nowadays?

That explanation by Fjosok, man. I was wondering just how the hell they'd get out of that position after being asked by Ronja.

Shiiiiiiit maaaaaaaan this is good drugs for the sooooooouuullll

I can feel the Ghibli-ness in this. When Ronja peeked through the bush, that looked so much like a scene from a Ghibli film, maybe Karigurashi no Arriety?

I have a strong enough attachment to the characters up to this point. Good show.

Studio Ghibli NEVER dissapoints. At first I was wary of the CGI characters but the scenery and soundtrack and story is all just so gorgeous...I'm really glad I picked this up.

Also bahaha at the Borka kid trying to be all cool

Can't wait for the next episode

I didn't read the original book, but i thought the little guy would be more polite, I don't know why. In my head I see him like a good child, but that's just because I saw his design and thought that, I'm so stupid haha.
I'm in love with this. Ghibli is perfect >v<
