Oooh, a cliffhangerish ending. What will he do next?

Also, it's kinda interesting to see Mao's personality this chapter after what happened before.

It's great that Mao indirectly told her mother how she really feels about the whole situation. It's also really nice to see that Mao and Chi-chan are such close friends. Hiro totally misses Mao. ;~; Radical-san feels guilty about claiming to be the author of the novel. She most likely will tell Hiro and Hiro will probably rush to Mao ASAP. ;)

I'm waiting for this, for Hiro to read the whole novel and rush to Mao.

Great chapter. I'm glad Mao told someone how she felt about this whole situation instead of trying to bear it all by herself. I'm also glad that someone realized the hidden meaning/feelings in Mao novel. Sugimoto takes a lot of unwarranted heat, and honestly I feel she's under appreciated in this manga. For someone who claims to be a fan of Mao's novel, I'm honestly not sure why Hiro hasn't realized himself who the author is based on some of the content.

I'm curious where people (particularly fangirls) are getting the notion that Sugimoto stole Mao's novel. If memory serves, I'm pretty sure Mao asked her to tell Hiro that she was the author if he ever asked, so where is that coming from?
Matsuoka Yoshitsugu has hardly any range as a voice actor, and is grossly over-cast.

Yeah. I said it.

All Mao requested was "Don't tell him about the cell phone novel... Please don't say anything about it." Hiro misunderstands when the novel gets mentioned at the bar, assumes it was Sugimoto who wrote it, and rather than correcting him Sugimoto says "thanks for reading it all this time"

this was all back in chapter 14
"Let's make a miracle happen using the power of friendship."
"If that was all it took, there'd be no need for training arcs!"

"Normal rabbits don't carry guns!"

Damn. It has little to do with this chapter, but i would gladly murder that bitch mother. She just doesn't know her place after all things she did. I will get pissed off more if the drama with that bitch mother doesn't get resolved quickly.

Just live with your new family, Mao. Your bitch mom probably always call every kind of man to pleasure her when she was lonely, that's not far fetched.--

I appreciate you clearing that up for me. I was at school when I posted last, so I didn't have the time to sift through the chapters for confirmation. The only reason I even brought attention to novel is because I've read comments on other sites that would have you thinking that Sugimoto had stolen Mao's identity, and then began committing crimes using her name. To make a long story short, people kinda blew the situation out of proportion.

I wish this came out more frequently. (Though I did find a site that has chapter 47 with a translation, if anyone wants to know where to find it, PM me...)

I love the way "Radical" came to truly understand Mao's novel and how bad she felt about having hijacked her identity by telling Hiro that she was the writer. It was a petty thing for her to do and I really like that she is a big enough person to admit she was wrong.

Meanwhile, Mao is still being an idiot! I really don't understand why she put off Hiro's confession just because her mother re-entered her life... It's like she was about to get her heart's desire and she couldn't allow herself to be happy. She needs to value herself more and learn to love herself as much as she loves Hiro!

"I wonder if my other mom is eating dinner all alone." - she chose that Mao. She had TEN YEARS to find a family and didn't! It's entirely on her.

I completely forgot Sugimoto hasn't admitted to impersonating Mao yet.

Why does Mao tell inexperienced Chi-chan over wise Hiro?

:Even if you move really far away" - STOP ENTERTAINING THIS NONSENSE!

"I just know that Hiro-san would feel the same way as me, too." - no, he'd put his foot down and tell her off.

"It's definitely not something I can talk to my dad about." - Huh, I guess you really don't value your family that much after all, Mao. (Ugh, this character assassination...)

"Have you thought up a good answer for me yet?" - Damn this tactless, impatient woman. It's been ONE DAY since you suddenly asked Mao to leave her family to come live with you. How can you possibly not see through this Mao?

"I have to make a decision" - No, you don't Mao.

It's a decent-ish chapter I guess, but I'm still hung up on how much Mao keeps things to herself, especially when it comes to Hiro. Of course every person has a right to not share their personal troubles, but I just feel that after everything they've been through Mao should be close enough with Hiro to the point where she can confide in him. I mean, just look at how worried and depressed Hiro is becoming because of Mao's lack of communication. Mao keeps thinking she doesn't want to bother him and others, but Hiro's the type of person who would be more bothered by the fact that Mao is refusing to say anything. Delaying Hiro's confession is fine, but I wish she at least elaborated or gave him a hint of what was going on with her instead of avoiding him.

Mao's lack of communication seems to be a recurring problem. Even when Mao confided in her step-mom, she still chose to be indirect, saying it was about her novel instead. I feel like she primarily did it just to get her step-mom's perspective rather than be vulnerable with her, so the distance between them still shows... Really, Mao should've said the whole truth about what happened. Especially since the decision directly impacts her step-mom/family. I understand why she didn't tell her dad since he's extremely sensitive to the topic of his ex-wife, but her step-mom should've been fine. From my point of view Mao still has some ways she can grow as a person :/.

As for Sugimoto's discovery, it wasn't really notable to me. I suppose it's good that she can empathize with Mao a little more... Overall, this chapter didn't have much to offer in my eyes, but it wasn't bad by any means. And also, I legitimately don't know what Mao will choose. I'm really curious though. I can see it going either way...

Mao may have struck gold with the Nakamura siblings, but her dad getting remarried to her stepmom was her finding diamonds. I understand that Mao just doesn't want her biological mom to feel as alone as she did but which family to choose is a no brainer.
