I didn't get the part where the blue guy forfeited his match. Can someone explain it ?

Leorio bet that Majitani is not really unconscious, but is just faking it and he bet 10 hours on it.
So he was pretending to toss him off the platform to make sure.

At the last moment, the girl knew that the blue guy will forfeit. So she changed the bet and said that he is faking. While leorio bet that he's really unconscious(Even though he's sure he's not, and originally bet on that), this way they will at least gain 10 hours even though they lost a point

Leorio didn't mind that much since he will gain 1 point and if he kept arguing over who's betting on what they might even lose more than what they're betting on.

I hope this helped :P

this is still kinda weird, why didnt he just wake up and leave when he heard that she had put 40 hours in for him to not be unconscious.

She never saw it coming that he'd try and toss him, so she wanted majitani to pretend to be knocked out for the rest of the 72 hours. Hence, the piece of paper
guess she didn't figure everything out

that's not what i mean i've seen the original and read the manga.

but why does he still act unconscious even AFTER they put 40 hours for him to wake up. wouldnt he be like, U got trolled thanks for the 40 hours cause i'm awake instead of still acting unconcious till he almost dies falling.

I see what your saying. Hmmmm...Since she bet that he was faking it he should of just woke up right? Did they change something in this version because now, something I felt like I understood is now confusing to me. In the original I recall her telling him not to wake up or to fall so he could take one for the team or something. Guess that's why I'm confused even though that may have been a mini filler.

it was a death match, and kurapika would just come back and make him surrender, besides they all knew he's just a fraud with no real strength

How would he do that? Kurapika refuses to kill, so the blue guy can just stay in the ring as long as he wants.

he refuses to kill a person he's been knocked out or is helpless.. (well to be honest he refuses to kill in general but majitani doesn't really know that, seeing red eyes and sh**) but if majitani came back by himself he wouldn't hesitate to continue his match and beat him up until he gives up. And considering that majitani quickly said i give up(although nobody heard) before even ONE punch, it won't be hard the next time :D

because, as far as i remember, it was THEM who were gonna lose time if they proved him to be awake, Lelut(the girl) at the last moment requested the bet be changed so that her team was betting on him faking, while leorio bet that he's KO'd.. this way they'd lose a point and gain 40 hours instead of losing both

aaaahhhhhh I just love how perfect Fujiwara Keiji is as Leorio <3333 Makes me like the character even more. I couldn't help laughing in the beginning when he was arguing haha~ So funny & cute :3

Fun fun episode. I'm looking forward to the rest of Leorio's match, but right now I really can't for Killua's fight. Besides Gon's match, his is the only other one I don't remember.

Wow Hisoka's fight was cool. I don't remember that being memorable in the original... stupid shadows, though! *continues praying that Killua's fight won't be censored... at least not terribly...*

I'm sort of hoping Leorio's match will be long, so they don't rush Killua's. It might not be the most exciting match, but Killua's is too good to be rushed XD.

...Killua's face when Kurapika and Leorio were arguing. Priceless.

Epic advent-children type of fight, my favorite. The second anime fight ever that I liked for the action itself and not the characters involved.

Most fights have laserz pew pew fights or just turn-based crap, this one is all tricky, even if it was short. :D

Leorio was pretty cool here, love the mind games here. It shows that he's a pretty competent guy in his own right. Pleasantly surprised I haven't seen anyone (in the first two pages) bitching about Kurapika refusing to kill the guy.

funny scene: leorio's lonely crusade to kill off the unconscious guy
funniest scene: blue guy trying not to fall off the edge
bamf moment: leorio betting smartly
bamfest moment: i didnt appreciate hisoka's lame cards. i appreciate his head chopping though.

it was annoying how k didnt just walk over and wake up blue guy, since its his match, but since its all solved and the betting was interesting, its w/e.

Kind of ruined, but with a exception of make up meaning that is okay. Lecario is still cool kind of ludicrous, but he makes it okay.

If you were being dangled over the edge of a cliff and falling to your death, you would be a coward to.

anyways Leoro was pretty awesome, first time we got actually see him do anything. He is a pretty intellectual person, he may not be able to fight worth a damn, but he can sure outwit someone.

The fight with Hisoka was really nicely animated here. So much better then togashi's drawings, this was one of the scenes though that was pretty violent so they cut a few things out. For those of you who want to see the uncensored version, here you are:

Why is everyone so bloodthirsty in this show?? To casually talk about finishing someone off as children and teenagers. O_O

Then Hisoka goes and offs someone. As per usual. Glad the beheading was in shadow -- gratuitous violence is not my thing, so getting the idea of his assassin's fate is plenty.

Leorio was pretty cool though. Weird to have a hothead for a doctor, but nice.

Only "bloodthirsty" one is Hisoka. You'll see why Killua is like that later on. Gon is still innocent as hell.

Can't say the rest of the show will be rainbows but I wouldn't let the violence stop me from watching such a beautiful show.

Naw, this was probably more in reaction to Leorio near-ultimatum for Kirapika to finish that dude; I didn't expect it of him. Also, Gon may be somewhat innocent but he doesn't blink at mass death, the concept or real thing. It makes me wonder about the world or morals or... whatever code is standard here -- freaks of nature these kids are, or not.

(Killua is a given, of course.)

Not against the depiction of violence in a story so much as gratuitous violence for entertainment -- wherein the audience is expected to revel and cheer at the horror as opposed to, you know, feel various healthy emotions to that sort of thing. That's why I was glad the animators got their point across in the way they did.

Of course, next episode was yay yay traumaaaa, but that was the point too I guess.

I tend to agree with curry. I hope this doesn't turn into violence for the sake of violence. That would be a major turn-off for me. Hisoka is one thing. He seems like a psychopath to me- but it's different with the main characters. I like good guys and antiheroes can be fine too, but if the protagonists themselves end up being evil, I'm going to like the show considerably less, if at all.

I was a bit surprised at Leorio's ultimatum. Wasn't his goal to save people's lives? I'm glad Kurapika no sell'd it.

The cliff hanging (pun intended) was pretty clever, though.

Hehe, you're pretty clever Leorio. Should have let that dude fall though, he was no use anymore and was a dumbass. He made them lose so much time.

So Hisora finished first. He really is a class apart...

In any case, I'm pretty sure Leorio will lose that duel, because we all want to see Killua fight :P
Also, I called that she would try to seduce him, but I guess she'll use her beauty to trick him.

Loved all the mind games going on here, but changing your bet half way through is complete BS.

It's also pretty crazy how harsh criminal sentences in this world are. 112 years for gambling and trafficking of endangered animals? Real world sentence would probably be 1 to 2 years max, 112 is just insane.

Probably because nobody heard him? And the pink girl was trying to buy time. And because Kurapika was so pissed off that he wasn't thinking straight.
