Nah, I haven't sorry. I was enjoying it but on the advice of a friend I looked up a recruitment guide, realized I missed some people, didn't have a good save to back to, and decided to hold off on the game for awhile and then restart.
I'm playing Trails in the Sky right now, but maybe I'll get to Suikoden 2. I really liked S2, it's just I feared going through a lot of stuff over again so soon would hurt my opinion of the game.
Btw, that opening video is fucking amazing if I haven't said so before.
Another game, Persona 5 is finally announced. Going to be released in a few months. February of next year for the ps3. MAN I have been waiting for ever for this game. The ps4 will be getting a port in September, but this is one game i'll be purchasing on day 1.
Hmm, its up there. Not exactly the best stories ive seen. I would say Xenogears and or Legend of heroes is probably some of the most deeply complex stories, written.
It is hard you know, cause i have played alot of japanese role playing games. But i would say most do not even come close to the shear amount of complexity and indepth characterization that those games have.
Either of those are like on the same vein as the space opera epic LOGH.
He's kind of torn between what to get lol since i gave a massive amount of recommendations. There is just to many games out there that are great, the psp/DS/3DS are just brimming with a treasure trove of classic jrpgs.
"Insane", giving you the go around on how to start the "fate franchise" to huh? lol Your in my shoes. He's been trying to explain it to me as well. I guess based on what he says, the visual novel is probably the best route to start with cause you don't want to risk your self for future spoilers by watching the DEEN adaptation and or Zero which spoils quite alot apparently.
Since the UBW route is supposed to be read/watched before the ZERO adaptation, then it might be best to just dive right into the new UBW series if you absolutely do not want to read the visual novel.
Anyways i am going to start reading the Visual novel, i know its a huge time synce and takes a while to get going but its better that way. To get the first real introduction, the world building, the magic, all of the concepts of the holy grail war, then go right into UBW.
Btw, I want to warn you that the Fate/ VN is very, very wordy. Quite a bit of exposition and so on, I figure that it won't be too big a deal for you since Hunter x Hunter is like that and you are obviously a fan, but I figure it is something you should know. Also, while I think it is a good route also, Fate is generally considered to be a lot weaker than the later two routes. It's necessary, though.
