Yesssssss a happy ending.

They kissed in front of the whole school but that's fine and dandy <3
Some bits of the chapter felt a bit fast. Sosuke's entrance was almost laughable in a way lol but I'm glad they are back where they started.

No more weapons but there is a relationship there.
8/10. This has been a fine journey.

I have spent nearly 10 years (if not, 10 yrs) enjoying the FMP series, just waiting to see how it would end! Finally, FINALLY! I am so glad to have finished this...relatively unspoiled!...relatively... It is great to see a great series end without large story gimmicks to force it to end a certain way. And it is great to see a well written action manga end on a pretty good note. By far, one of my favorite series. Now, they just need to finish the anime counterpart...

An excellent adaptation to a long-awaited ending to a series in visual form. I'm really glad that at the very least, this has been adapted to manga and with such accuracy to the original light novel.

Full metal panic has for a while been my favorite story. After reading the books I kinda felt that it wasn't over because there was still the manga to look forward to. It was incredible finishing the manga of my favorite series but I must say, it is definitely different than reading the books. I can't say either was better, but both gave me the best hours of entertainment of my entire life. I hope this gets animated and animated correctly.

I waited till the end of the manga to ask since not a ton of you read the books but does anyone else think that Tessa should have gotten a part in the end? I mean I love the ending but it kind of dropped off since Tessa never said what she was going to do. The three of them were friends right!? Why didn't she go back to Japan to meet them?

OH MAN! What a great end to the series!

I honestly thought the manga was going to take a dumb route, but I'm really glad I stuck with it to the end.

Great manga: 8/10

I'm disappointed not with this chapter but with the last few chapters maybe it's because it took so long to come out or get translated I read the last volume of the light novel. While it's been some time now and don't I remember enough of the changes to put my finger on it the last few chapter have not sat right with me [or maybe not changes but the handling of it]. Anyway this chapter was good they FINALLY kissed. A good old happy ending I'm a surker for happy endings. Also is it just me or did the art style change a little I known artist style evolves but feel more different than that.

Wonder what Mao meant when she said she was over Kruz when it was all over? Because that can have two polar-opposite meanings...if you know what I mean.

Sousuke..being Sousuke right up until the end:
- breaking out of custody by himself, in military uniform that he probably stole,
- right before giving his team a chance to attempt to rescue him,
- while saving Al in the process, handing it over safely to his comrades, saying he doesn't have time for this because it's...
- ...on the day of graduation,
- driving away while being pursued by cops,
- bursting into the scene, right up to the last minute, probably with a stolen scooter,
- nonchalantly saying in front of everyone already gathered that he kept his promise to bring her back, as if he planned for everything to fall into place, gambling on the fact that she would already be there,
- giving a brief exposition of his far-from-norm exploits of his escape, to no one that cares (since they're probably used to Sousuke's antics by now)
- yet keeping true to his word, he wants his promised kiss.
- "It's not a problem." - in response to the Chidori's promised kiss in front of the entire graduating student body,
- and finally giving up his firearm(s) while professing his love, thus marking the end of the Whispered/Black Tech conflicts and literally saving the world by preventing a nuclear war from breaking out...

...That is some straight up Fumoffu material right there.

I couldn't be happier with the ending. It couldn't be more perfect...although I wouldn't mind an epilogue with the future family of Sousuke x Chidori; because I'm a greedy kind of guy. Another anime adaption would be awesome too.

The only thing they could have done differently/better, was when Al (now without an AS body) mentioned it wanted to be put into a car, instead of Al referencing Gundam 00's Trans-Am, make it reference Knight Rider instead! Do they even have that dubbed in Japan?

This might also be a little late in mentioning this, but...
Am I the only one that thinks while wearing the pilot suit, the only difference in facial appearance between Sousuke and Mao in later chapters, is the x-shaped scar swapped out for eyelashes? I almost couldn't tell the difference.

Damn, all these years... And suddenly it ends... I feel weird now, I have followed the FMP series for years, always wondering how will it end. The second half of Sigma was a masterpiece, people died, people laughed, people cried. And I was so sure that Kurz died back then.
Can somebody tell me if the novels have a similar ending? Or is it different? I'm most curious about what happened after Sousuke and Kaname returned back to school. Do the books tell anything about that?

sigma follow the light novel pretty throrougly just that the light novel put more detail/meaning in the story n characters . endings are the same . sousuke survives n meets up with kaname at school . theres a sequel to the series called fmp another 10 years later after with new characters , but neither kaname/sousuke made a apperance as far as iknow

There is a section of one of the earlier books that Sigma doesn't cover well. I forget if it is "Approaching Nick of Time" or "Come Make My Day". But the final pair of novels, "Always Stand By Me" parts 1 and 2, are covered pretty well by Sigma. The ending is pretty much exactly as it is in the LN, with the exception that the kiss scene is slightly different:
They start kissing, as it is presented in the manga. Kaname has her internal dialog about embarrassment, etc... The difference is that they break apart for a second and she says out loud "Don't care anymore!" and grabs his head and goes to town on him. (In other words, she kisses him passionately, not caring about the people watching. When I read it, I interpreted it as the type of kiss that, if they were alone, would end up with them half clothed on the bed after stumbling through the apartment, bumping into things, and taking off each others cloths, leaving a trail behind them. Of course, since they were in the school courtyard, it wasn't like that, but that is the intensity I got from reading the LN.)

All in all, the LN is better, but the original source is almost always better. There are a few places where the visuals in the manga make it better, though, and the fan translation is better in the manga, in general.

So... This is the end... FMP! was with me for 6th years... This sweet-bitter taste of the ending... The best series EVER! I had a really great time with FMP. I love the ending but... Does anyone else think that it was a bit rough ? I mean... The volumes b4 were so serious and dramatic, and somehow sad... And the ending was... Just 2 normal... I mean it was somehow funny, but I think a little too much fumoffu like. Not the ending itself ( if u know what I mean, don't want to write spoiler). it was almost perfect in the manga and in the novels. But a few moments before...

LOVED IT.

I watched the anime few years ago. Watched it again. and again. Then decided to see how the story goes. So I continued in the manga from where the Second Raid ended.

It was first or second time i'm reading manga. I got quickly hooked with Full metal Panic. Comedy, War, Mecha, Romance, "some naughty scenes :p", sadness, a good twist.

I loved it. and I am waiting for the anime. If there is a petition to request that anime, i'd sign it.

I'm a bit disappointed to be honest. After all these deaths and crushed hopes Sousuke really dying would be much more fitting. It would be a quite bitter ending but slapping a "happy end" on that feels really out of place. Still a good read nonetheless.

Somewhat disappointing ending. Happy to see the long overdue kiss, although I found Chidori an annoying character. I had hoped to see more of an ending for Mao & Weber, but (sighs) it wasn't meant to be.

The more serious this series gets, the more boring it gets. Best part is still Fumoffu and that's comedy.
"Why do I always realize it... when I've already lost it..." -Guts, Berserk
"Some things are beautiful because they cannot be obtained." -Gilgamesh, Fate/stay night
"We are constantly living in a peaceful world that somebody else won for us. Even if it were only a day of peace, I will be grateful for its value." - Minashiro Tsubaki, FAFNER
"Screw you, future me!" -Makise Kurisu, Steins;Gate
"We used to show off by waging wars and whatnot." -Watashi, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita
"Call me Moses. I'm going to part the sea of students before your eyes." -Moses?, Valvrave
"Time is guilty." -Andō & Tomoyo, INOU-Battle

I sort of have to agree. Once the plot goes into "drama" mode it's pretty average and standard in plot writing. The series does have a proper balance of comedy, romance, and action.

Shame we never got to see the later parts of this story adapted into an anime.

I see that Sousuke and Kaname kiss in front of the entire student body. But did Kaname tell Sousuke how she feel about him? If she haven't, then reading this series will be a really waste of time after all of these years.

Nice manga overall, but I don't know why it felt like I've read the last few chapters some years ago, at the same time I know for certain that I didn't, a weird case of deja vu, anyway glad that all things ended on a happy note.

Where are my tears that I shed for you damn Sousuke?
AL, YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! I LOVE YOU SON OF A BITCH

Obviously Sousuke had to save Al, what an amazing duo!
Damn Al saying put him in a car now as his new body hahahahaha

And to finish Sousuke going to fulfill his promise, YES YES YES YES YES

I really hope a 5th season will be animated to end it. Since Leonard took Chidori I had a strange feeling, like heaviness, it didn't come to my mind how Sousuke was going to save her but seeing Chidori decide in front of Sofia, all that feeling went away. The last chapters I was really excited with everything that happened on the Island and with the others.

There was a moment that was after when Kurz had "died", that only memories appeared, that gave me an incredible downturn in the feeling of wanting to continue the story, I saw it a bit meaningless, since I did not have the same emotion and I confused, but other than that, I LOVE IT ALL

@jolec agree the last third of Sigma has this rushed feeling. It needed to climax and then a bit of time to explain the fall out.

@Antanaru agree Sousuke really dying would have been a better ending. Maybe he could have sent an iTube video telling the class he completed his promise. Or the other thing I thought might be good, he survives but has crippling injuries showing the class how he sacrificed himself to save Kaname.
