----------------------------------------
So Miho has problems of her own to deal with and gets depressed over them. I actually enjoyed this episode very much because a lot happened and Miho and Moritaka finally had a real conversation again. -^^- Episode ends with a cliffhanger! I'm excited to see if their first chapter did well.

Definitely looking forward to the rest of the show since I'm sure it'll get better and better.

If I was Mashiro, I would take Miho up on her offer and see her naked, then buy her photo book when it is out and fap to it - that sounds like the correct response for the situation.

Damn good episode.
It had emotions, it had bonding with new characters, more info on business and a cliffhanger-phonecall.
Great! Until next week...

Once again Takagi and Miyoshi come through for Mashiro. Takagi is not only smart as an author, he sees what needs to be done to keep things on track in real life (or its animated equivalent).
This was the first conversation between Mashiro and Miho that I thought was real evidence of a relationship.

Damn those episodes of Bakuman are really over in a blink of an eye. Sometimes I think of putting it on hold in order to marathon it when it's finished airing. But I just can't keep myself from watching the episode when it comes out :)

Funniest thing have read all day. By far.

Great episode. I agree that Miho's crying face was nice - more so because they really don't show any other facial emotions in this anime except for excitement and disappointment - over and over again. It was nice to see some new emotion brought to the table and it was done very well.

Well, good thing Miho refused the photoshoot. She's much better suited to be a seiyuu rather than posing for ecchi photos in front of a camera. Overall, good and emotional episode.

Poor Miho! But well at least she got cheered up and decided not to take those pictures! The development went pretty nice and while not directly to the manga it went more to their relation and that was quite lovely as well, the ending was a nice cliffhanger so let's see what's next!

wow after 27 episodes they finally started talking to each other(over phone), whats next? they will talk face to face in 3rd season?

and this whole "romance" in last scene
A: "lets hang out for a bit"
B: "yeach sure, when our dreams come true" lol yeach, this is so retarted and unrealistic on so many lvls its hard to watch..

1/5

i would rate this anime 9/10 if they would cut this whole romance plot.

When she asked him if he wanted to see her nude kind of surprised me xD
Didn't seem like something Miho would do...

It's good that they finally stopped truning around and begin talking on the phone. It was good to see also that Miho can have other emotion than being partially happy xD

That atmosphere at the studio was painful :P
I didn't like what the bowl hair cup guy said, not everyone aim for the top and we need poeple for every job. If she want to become a pro assistant, let her be a pro assistant, no need to pick her up high.

A lot happened in this episode!

-This episode got serious really quick. I wasn't expecting Azuki to break down like that. Seeing her depressed was so weird and unexpected for me.
-Mashiro and Azuki finally talk to each other like normal people lol we get texting in the first season, now we see them talk on the phone. By the third season maybe we can get them to hold hands or something lmao.

- great episode. It definitely held my attention. So far I'm liking this season 2 more than the first.

Glad to see Miho and her journey to seiyuu-stardom getting some badly-needed screen time.

I'm sure the whole "pose in this risqué photo shoot or you're done in this business" thing is something a lot of young women have to deal with in that field.

Personally, I'm glad she didn't do it. It would've been way out of character for her.

The romance is fucking dumb. Initially it was so dumb that I found it kinda sweet. Now it's just cringe and annoying.

Making the heroine a trophy to fuel Mashiro's motivation to do manga was a mistake. I can't get into their relationship and I hope they keep the romantic subplot to minimal.

After a whole season and 2 episodes, FINALLY they start talking to each other. Now please don't go back to the bullshit "I can't talk to you because I'm a retard who live in a fairy tale".

I find it ironic that Mashiro was so willing to abandon his manga. This is the same guy who was salty when Takagi went to Miyoshi's place the previous season.

Good episode and it was nice getting to see some more of Azuki's own journey into becoming a voice actress, albeit this was definitely a scare that luckily didn't bump her off course much in the end. She was asked by her agent to accept an offer for her to do a photoshoot which would require her to be scantily clad to a degree. She of course doesn't want to do it at all in the first place but given how she's still incredibly new to the business, rejecting offers early on that seem to help boost her popularity and chances of success in the long run is a scary thing. Especially since she doesn't want to do all of that kind of stuff before she is with Mashiro together, as she wants him to see her like that first, which is a reasonable thought.

She seems like a perfect girl, but she has her own flaws deep down inside and one of them was that she was too afraid to communicate with Mashiro for something as serious as this, which led him to nearly fucking up his deadline as he was worried sick about her, which led in process to Takagi worrying about everything too. She also wants to sort of preserve her self-image instead of exposing negative sides to Mashiro by trying to tough it out when she clearly was lost and crying continuously about her conflicts, but Mashiro minds none of that and instead, wants her to showcase everything about her to him and just be real together. Good thing she got another job offer after that didn't have to require her being half-naked like that, while Mashiro can go back to trying to get this Shady Detective TRAP manga off running since its important for that manga to start well.

This wasn't a good episode.

Too much stupid drama. Too much Miho. Too much weird af relationship couple.

This season is off to a really mediocre start. If the next episode or 2 stay like this I won't bother watching the rest of the season.

I somewhat disagree with the comment above mine. I think this is the best possible utilization of Azuki's character. I hate Azuki so SO much. She's the worst character in an ensemble of likable characters. There are times when I wonder why anyone likes her or cares about her to begin with. Her bashfulness and anxiety can make her selfish and depressing. BUT... like I said... I personally think, for once, I wasn't incredibly annoyed by her in an episode. I think ghosting her friends and not answering the phone was bitchy, but seeing her finally answer when Takagi called ... and then call Mashiro back and explain herself, was quite mature for her character. I think that's some solid character development. Plus, meek or not, I'd feel absolutely nauseous if I were a 15-year-old girl asked to do a photo book. I think it's a disgusting concept, but we have to remember that Japan is a culturally different place (responsible for "lolis" for crying out loud). We just need to accept that they view teenage girls as mature, like Europe did in the 18th century... but I totally digress.

I agree with the comment above mine in that the worst part about this show is Mashiro and Azuki's stupid relationship (goals/dynamic). In fact, a lot of people complain about it on these forums. There's tons of complainers -- here, and everywhere else. I'm with them. BUT, we've gotta suck it up. We're in Season 2 now, and it's become a clear niche of this show. It's its very essence.

We need to accept the awful choice of giving the protagonist this kind of relationship, embrace it, and objectively search for the strengths. Id' say this episode was a CLEAR improvement.
Azuki had the longest conversation she's ever had with Mashiro, and had the guts to ask him how he'd feel about seeing her naked. There were points where she couldn't utter a single word to him, and now she's having smooth, coherent conversations with him. "Let's go to the beach, I'll bring lunch." That was kind of a big milestone in the story. I still hate Azuki, but there were several parts throughout the episode where she became very tolerable.

Oh, and that shot of her crying and with messy hair... I've always hated when girls would cry in slice-of-life anime unless it was REALLY warranted. I think this case it was actually warranted... not just in the anime, but for this less-than-adequate character. I could feel the anxiety and confusedness.

Finally, I liked the episode's STRUCTURE.
First, let me say that it was interesting to diverge from the topic of manga and assistance and workplaces ... and to dive into an Azuki-exclusive conflict, and how her friends react when she pulls out a "photo book" wildcard. This is definitely a wildcard episode. It even had attributes of a "filler episode" (despite the canonical characterization). This is actually the reason I popped onto the forum to begin with.
ANYways, the structure was magnificent. It's a standalone, really. The start, middle, and end. The conflict began with Azuki breaking the news -- the rising action was Mashiro processing the information and Azuki's friends trying to contact her -- the climax was the phone call -- and the resolution was Azuki employing Mashiro's advice, refusing the "photo book" offer, and not getting fired despite the prospect.
An intriguing introduction to conflict -- and a very satisfying (happy) ending.
In retrospect, it sort of feels like I watch a movie or short film.

Good episode I'd say. Not too many weaknesses.

The hate on Azuki is something I don’t understand. There are so many people irl exactly like her. People that are really shy and hard to express feelings to others especially face to face. Anyways I’m sure real VA’s at a young are asked to take sexy pics for photo books in Japan.
