According to the official Twitter of the series "Yozakura Quartet", a new OVA will be bundled with the special edition of the manga's volume 14, which will be released on October 9th. An OVA will also be bundled with the special edition of volumes 15 and 16, and together will form a series that covers the Minakana Hakone arc.

Previously the manga was adapted into a TV series in 2008 and a reboot of the series is scheduled to air this October. An OVA series of 3 episodes was also bundled with the special edition of manga volumes 9 to 11 and named "Yozakura Quartet: Hoshi no Umi", released from 2010 to 2011.

Buyers who buy all the three manga volumes (14-16) will receive a DVD special that features seiyuu and staff about "The challenges to Yozakura Quartet in Hakone".

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I prefer the art style of the first TV series but I didn't like how the first one was adapted considering it's from a manga...They didn't followed the story from the manga and changed so much from it which disappoints me...The OVA was good because they followed at least the original though the art style has already changed...

Now I'd like to see how the new TV series and OVA will turn out and I hope it's much better even if I kinda prefer the art style before...

Considering the new TV series will be done by the people who did the OVAs, it should be adapted correctly this time, or at least better than the previous TV series.

Dunno about the art style, though I was fine with the OVA ones too.

Wait, what happened to Tsuki no Naku? We also got Hana no Uta coming up too, this is all rather confusing. But hey, this is heaven for YQ fans. :D

This certainly will bring back some nostologia. Hell, I might even give the manga a try in the future now.

This refers to Yozakura Quartet: Tsuki no Naku (which matches with the description about which volumes will OVAs will include)

Very good news indeed, since i find the OVAs generally more faithful, more action-oriented and more heavily plotted than the first anime. But yeah, agree with others that the chara designs seem rather a turn off
