| In a panel held on Aug 10th at Otakon, director Watanabe Shinichiro, best known for directing Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, announced his new work, an original TV anime series named "Space☆Dandy", will premiere January next year. In the panel, a trailer video with key visuals and character designs was also showed. The anime is a comedy inspired by old school '70s SF and is about Dandy, "the dandiest man in universe", who went around the universe hunting aliens with his robot QT and a cat alien named Meow. It will be made by studio BONES and involves a number of key staff from Cowboy Bebop. | Haha, "Space dandy is...a dandy guy in the space." :)) Dandy sounds like an old-school gentleman, the cool term nowadays is "Metro" :D Anyways, the anime is filled with Bebob and Champlo vibes. Seeing the director and the staffs, I can regard this as a Bebob sequel with less serious tone and more hilarity. |

| King of expecting the Boobies bar thing will be the main thing people remember... Retro Sci-Fi in the form of Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw star were my first exposure to anime so I'd like to see them reprised with modern methods. Bones has always been awesome on animation -- it's their story that usually needs work. It looks like this will be mostly tongue-in-cheek comedy so maybe it will work. |

And dude even with the above average animation shown in the PV aside, BONES is known for delivering excellent sakuga.
