Wow Knuckle is super fast
his special ability is kind of cute, who would had thought that that was going to be his power, but its cool.
LOL...Gon doesn't understand the anything Knuckle was telling him.

On Killua is having trouble at his end too
ughhhh waht did Illumi do to Killua

Noooo the King is about to be born!!!

Episode direction was much improved from last week

The anime does a much better job of explaining how Knuckle's Nen ability works than the manga. I had to read the explanations 2 or 3 times the first time around and even then I didn't grasp it fully until it was used more. Didn't know Hakoware translates to "Chapter 7 Bankruptcy" though it makes sense considering his ability is a play on the IRS agency

(Individual Ren Suppresor? Clever one you are Togashi : P)

Loving how Illumi's influence is wearing down Killua. Seems he's still deep in his brother's clutches. Couldn't help but feel for the guy since it's not his fault for being raised that way. This plot line develops in a pretty cool and unpredictable way so I'm excited to see how Killua deals with Illumi's curse

The King arrives along with Gon/Killua's results next week, prepare yourselves though I doubt I'll be able to

You know shit's going to go down when Knuckles removes his clothes

APR is a cute mascot I guess. Dat explanation. Oh God, that was just funny the way that Gon responded. Knuckles' training method is kinda interesting with the interest stuff going on.

Why hello extra hands. That's pretty flashy there Shoot. The OST played during the fight between Killua and Shoot was nice imo. Fuck off though Illumni.

Based on the preview, Chimera King is coming out tomorrow. Oh shi-

serious question: Is the staticy-blackout on Killua's eye the nature of Shoot's power, or is it the result of censorship?

Damn Killue is obviously not fighting at his potential strength because he is frightened and rather wants to conserve his energy to escape.

I though they both got the message that nobody have any intentions to cause any casualties, so even if he loose he is not particularly in danger.

I have to say Killua's fight was 100 times more interesting than Gon's fight. Way too much annoying math going on with Gon and Knuckles. I don't blame Gon for going empty there. That was just a pain to think about. Hopefully Gon just kicks his ass quickly next episode to make up for it XD.

Much more interesting watching Killua struggle against his limits. His battle has far less to do with Shoot than his brother. He's fighting his own habits and teachings rather than his opponent. The problem being that it's going to leave Killua in a worse condition since he's having to do things he's not used to. Though the only benefit is that it seems like Shoot doesn't seem to like hurting people he doesn't want to hurt.

Getting bored of this anime going so damn slowly week to week. No progression at all at this point.

Gonna have to take a few weeks off and watch a couple eps bunched, because this is becoming painful.

I find it funny over these past few weeks how vastly different the reaction has been to these Gon vs Knuckle battles in the anime compared to the manga. I remember a lot of people saying those fights were some of the best in the series when the manga was still in this arc and with the anime, while it is still mostly favorable reviews, seems to have a much lesser reaction. Just an observation that I found interesting.

Good episode, very smart on Madhouse's part to split up the fights at the halfway point to switch over. Killua is sadly useless atm due to his curse. I don't think I will ever get used to Knuckle's ability being subbed as Chapter 7 Bankruptcy after reading it as Hakoware throughout the whole arc in the manga.

I really like the fight in the anime a lot but not much to say since both fights end next week which are the parts I am really waiting for.

Seems the anime is going to show a little more of Gon's duel to round out next week's episode based on the preview but we'll still see who won/lost

Can't blame people for thinking this part of the arc is slow because it is but to the studio's credit they're still adapting 2-3 chapters an episode. If they did Greed Island style pacing for this little section I wouldn't have complained : P

Only because the manga dragged this part alot. Luckily we are finally getting to the real good parts starting next episode!

I meant in terms of having the first half only focused on Gon's fight with the second half only focused on Killua's fight. I don't remember if that's how they did it in the manga which is why I brought it up.

Gon got hurt from mathematics and Killua didn't really accomplish anything. I hope next episode will be better. It wasn't bad but I'm not a huge fan of Knuckle's ability (I really don't think it suits him, lol) and Killua didn't take enough chances. Oh well, it's the only the start of the battle so I guess there's still a lot of time left.

Filler is mostly for the author to publish more content, unless Madhouse actually wants to drag this out in hope of Togashi to resume the manga there really is no point in having filler

Yeah, this isn't boxing you know. Every single battle from now on will have really weird Nen abilities, like Jojo's stands, which is much more interesting in the end.

Decent setup. Figured the fights wouldn't end in 1 episode.

No complaints here. The explanations and views inside the fighters' heads were necessary.

Guess I'll just go down the line with my thoughts on each character.

Knuckle's ability makes sense to me, as far as suiting his personality. Forget the math, and in depth use of the skill. Look at how it functions when you break it down to basics. In order for his enemy to successfully defeat him, the enemy has to be aggressive and exchange blows heavy and hard. Knuckle is an aggressive character, so this is just the type of fight he wants to force on his opponents. He thrives off of it. Similarly to Hisoka, except more straightforward, and in a less twisted manner. He just wants to exchange fists, as said in previous episodes. Personally, to me, it makes sense and I can dig it.

Shoot is still somewhat of a mystery, but I'm glad he manned up in this episode. Though he probably doesn't have much of a fan base due to lack of screen time and a weaker personality, I feel like he impressed in this episode. His aura was cool, the 3 hands are interesting thus far, and just based on my opinion, now that I see his character design out in the open, I'm really a fan of it. I like the clothes, hair style, tats, and just the overall vibe this guy has going on. Kind of flashy. Not something that would look good in reality, obviously.. but for his character and the show, it's working for me.

Always been a fan of Gon, but he's the one I'm least interested in at the moment. I wouldn't doubt Madhouse's ability to surprise me in the next episode and have me psyched about Gon again, but right now I feel like we've pretty much seen everything he has going on, and his nen abilities are pretty basic. But I'd love to be proven wrong in the next episode. We will see.

Never really been a fan of Killua, honestly. Always thought he was kind of a pussy. But in this episode I liked him a lot. Prior to this, I had been thinking of him like that, but the writers did a great job not only explaining, but making you FEEL his internal struggle, and the demons he has to overcome. He felt stronger today, even though he still didn't manage to overcome his curse. You could see his willpower, and the exceptional amount of hunger he had. There was a little bit of Gon's spark in his eyes. Looking forward to seeing how he deals with Shoot. I empathize with Shoot's kind spirit, so honestly I don't really want either of them to lose. These guys have my attention.

Lastly, the clip we got of the king in the preview was not bad at all. Kind of sad they spoiled it, but he looked pretty cool so I can't wait.

What i like about this series is that it doesnt shy away from being intelligent for the sake of actioj fanboys and those of lower intelligence, it doesn't just have michael bay actioj thrown in there. When the complaints are by people who sound like cliche shonen fans, you know the show is doing something right.

And oh my god that ability is brilliant, where does the writer keep coming with this stuff?
Accounting has never been my thing but he still managed to make it awesome lol.

There's not a single show with better abilities than this one, which ironically doesnt focus on fights to begin with

Another thing... i like how the fights are actually Canon, as in they are not just thrown in there at a line up at the end of an arc or sth just to have a 'fix'

And the characters show awareness of their abilities and address them (naruto does it sometimes tho), some shows' powers are just there when needed, w.o development (training/character-wise)

Knuckle ability is cool. One hit an enemy then he can hide and wait the interest rise. The babylook "stand" besides Gon is harmless but annoying to have near. I will need that sweet voice when it says "Chikandess" to ring on my cellphone.

Too much math, Knuckle. Wonder why you thought for your main ability something like that.

I suppose that probably those who don't like these fights still haven't understood that it's this the way nen battles are supposed to be, more logical and less action.
Maybe they considered Gon vs Hisoka how fights would be forgetting how HxH is not a conventional shonen in many areas and or also the fact the protagonists aren't winning.

I really can't understand how these episodes are not liked and even considered boring. the NGL start was so slow and it's not like it had great battles, only Kaito showing how strong he was compared to Gon and Killua.
At this point I want to see how the next "sub-arc" will be liked since it's going to be much more slower aside for minor events.

Note: I too will never get used to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, not after reading Hakoware so many times.

The problem about the fights isn´t the strategy in it.
hxh is top notch when it comes to strategic battles.
The problem ist just that everything that happened in the last 5?? episodes was totally predictable. And in the end shoot and knuckle are just fodder.
Having said that this episode was still ok. Atleast we get some nice fights.

I shouldn´t whine about being spoilt by a preview for the next episode. But there were like 3 major spoilors in it -.-
It feels like I dont eve need to watch the next episode because I already saw everything. I guess I wont watch the preview anymore...
