| Definitely the worst episode of Gintama... Easily takes the prize from ep 1+2... Although it did lead up to 85, which was good. |

| Yeah, probably the weakest episode yet. Only a few things, like the stripper whipping scene really amused me. But, what really hurt this episode is being right after the genius episode 83 and Yagyu arc. Kotori said: worst episode ever, skipped most of it and lowered the score. Lowering the score of a long series that has been consistently funny for one episode is ridiculous to me. |

| I think people would have a better opinion of this episode in general if they didn't drag out that painfully long 5 minute opening full of still images and uninteresting dialogue. This was far from the best episode, but I think those first 5 minutes really spoiled the mood and any humor that could have been derived from the hard-boiled idiot was ruined because they already mercilessly beat the hard-boiled horse dead in those few beginning minutes. They killed all of the jokes long before any of them ever had a chance to be funny. If you're reading this and you haven't watched this episode yet, SKIP the first five minutes. Just completely skip it altogether. You're not missing anything worth mentioning, and by doing so you are likely saving any humor the rest of the episode might contain. Then, after you finish the episode, you can go back and watch those first five minutes if you'd like, so you can see what you spared yourself from watching. |

| All of my wats in this episode. "I'm so hard boiled detective" lol. And he sleeps with a teddy too. Loved the way Gin calls the old man Master and hard boiled. |
