| Kanon, no doubt Clannad is also epic but the 1st season is for character development. So it's like a whole finish product vs an unfinished product. But in my guess Kanon will still win ^^ |

| I think Clannad was a bit slow and hard do really get to like. Kanon grew on me really fast and in the end it turned out to be one of my fav animes. Clannad was so-so. It's not good and it's not bad. |
| Kanon easily for me. I loved the cast of characters more overall, loved the fantasy elements in the story, and had better drama. Clannad had better (and more) comedy though, but I wouldn't say Kanon falls too far behind in that category. |

| Kanon was better than Clannad because it was exactly aimed at all the girls, while Clannad anime was... well, Fuuko, Kotomi and Nagisa arcs plus one Tomoyo episode (not counting the 24, which was fucking awesome) and nothing of Kyou. Right now, After Story is killing my nutbladder but it's too early to say that it will be better than Kanon... and I still think that Kanon should've given more screentime to Sayuri... final vote: Kanon |

| I voted for Clannad because Clannad as a visual novel is vastly superior than Kanon in game form or anime. Animation wise, however, Kanon kills Clannad. Clannad as anime was simply unfinished, not to mention it feels different from the game other than the gags and comedy, which is a very small part of Clannad. |

To say having supernatural intro to be the only improvement of Clannad is to take things at a face value. The two games run on different themes, namely with Clannad having a much heavier emphasis on family. Thematic differences aside, the sheer difference in game size makes Clannad have much more depth than Kanon. And yes, I would say because Clannad is newer it is better. After all, it would make sense (usually) for a company to get more experience when making a newer game, no? (Though Little Buster is an exception to this, as the game took a different direction, at which time it becomes personal preference) I realize that this is a Kanon fan club, I am a great fan of Kanon myself, but let's give credit where credit is due. edit: Also note that other than a few exceptions Kanon music was generally more memorable to me, so newer is not always better. Certainly not when it comes to character and story design. |

| to some degree, I can't see Clannad as a galgame, but more of a story. Compare to Kanon, Clannad has heavy emphasis on it's side characters (most noticeable in Kitagawa vs. Sunohara). Clannad seems to be more playful and the fact that the girls don't disappear after their arc is done really creates a warm feel (u gotta admit, apart from Nayuki, all the girls are kicked out of the plot until the last episode). more comparisons: Bonta > Piro Dango > Snowbunnies flawed hero > flawless hero gags > no gags |
| actually i vote for clannad as well.. the story in kanon is definately better and more sophiscated than that of clannad by clannad's storyline isnt like compressed like kanon and i think that makes the anime more enjoyable.-_- |
| Both were awesome but I went with Kanon (2006). For one, I watched it first and hadn't seen another story line like it and as a result of that it had a greater impact. Even so, it's a tough choice. |
