Yeah, but that can come back to bite him in the ass if somebody else dresses up as Zero. I mean, sure, there's the clause of Schneizel knowing Lelouch was the original Zero, but even so, it doesn't matter when the order is absolute to obey Zero specifically (which, really, you just kinda hammered home). >_>;

Schneizel getting geassed was pretty shocking to me. Just the thought of such a cool adversary being turned into a slave is such a shame.

What I meant by that is that the "Zero" clause could have very well been deliberate, or at the very least a cruel sense of irony. Simply (and lazily) put, with Zero having effectively become the "Guy Fawkes" of the Geassverse*, Lelouch's Geass on Schneizel would effectively force him to serve not just Lelouch, but basically the entirety of Japan. Not that I'm suggesting Lulu planned that far ahead when orchestrating the Million Zero March in episode 8, but if Sunrise wanted to go for a clear ripoff of V for Vendetta, I couldn't imagine a better way for them to end it.

*And remember, Zero was officially pronounced dead in episode 20, which could further support this Vino-trademarked absurd theory.

Yeah i thought along those lines when he said Zero. He could be setting it up so a new zero takes over.

For a while now, with lulu taking more and more of the burden of whats been done on himself, and making his enemies (and some allies) believe he calculated it all for selfish reasons, im wondering if he isnt thinking of setting himself up for a fall after all is said and done, so the big bad dictator is overthrown, peace is restored and the world he dreamed of is realized.

Actually, if anything, Lulu bit it like Spike Spiegel in a Guy Fawkes mask. This is because the fandom has been severely divided over whether or not he actually died.

@Phantom: Yes.

@topic: Generally speaking, I liked it. I'd go into more detail, but I'm a little unfocused right now and I just did it at AN, so I'll copypasta.

SPOILERS BELOW LOLZ

-It's pretty cut and dry that Lelouch is dead. Except this is Geass, where Guilford and Cornelia have survived. And Orange, for that matter. So I don't know.
-Suzaku, you were magnificent.
-Orange, you pulled a Gurren-Lagann. Fantastic. Not to mention you finally made that fanart actually true -- you now are an orange farmer. XD
-Was a little heartbroken seeing Nunnally finally understand everything and sob pitifully over her brother's body as everyone cheered Zero on for having killed him. I was thankful that Kallen understood what had happened, as well.

Overall, it had a few disappointing moments, but so did the first series (I recall the whole Chinese Federation mini-arc and the subtext about the CF with Mao was utterly dull, only to find they're actually players in the second season?!). I liked it a lot, as it was more over the top, had some brilliant mechanical designs, fights, and twists, and overall, I think it earns a 9.

All hail Lelouch. All hail Lelouch.

Yes, this was copypasta'd directly from AN, sue me.

So lulu's plan was what i suspected..thats cool :D I'm gonna be in the he is dead camp..i mean, they could pull some craziness to bring him back to life but i dont think that is what lulu wants/it wouldnt accomplish anything and risk all he had done if discovered. I just dont see lulu going for that.

I also liked how kallen and nunally were able to realize the truth, otherwise it would be horrible.

Excellent first season, fairly bad second, but good ending.

Am I the only one with a little bit of common sense? That shit about Nunally realizing Lelu's plan by touching his hand was "lol forced plot device = we got ass rap3d thanks you very much", and Kallen was even worse. And even if they did, their reaction to the new zero was even stupider, and they didn't even suspect that it just "might" be Suzaku who didn't die and doing all this shit, yeah sure it's probably just another motherfucker who can jump and bounce from rocket fire. So yeah, it's all goody, first time we followed zero and it bit us in the ass so let's do it again. We won't force him to remove his mask and show to the world who he is, oh no boy, that would make too much sense. We'll just accept Lelu's execution even though Kallen and Nunally already realized that it's all a play, and the new zero is one of Lelu's subordinates....

gj assholes.

I feel violated.

lol

I did have a prob with the hand thing, very convenient plot device there. Kallen guessed what happened, she could guess suzu was behind the mask and she knew lulu well enough to figure it out.

Tho im still glad nunally knew in the end cause it woulda been hella sad, they shoulda just had him say something that would hint at it, kinda like the little remark he gave kallen when the black knights betrayed him. Then she could draw the conclusions from there.

The other people, they were so happy to be rid of lulu they didnt care....it was their chance to overthrow a bastard dictator. Even if the people in the black knights/inner circle/whatever (the average people prolly didnt know any of the details about zero and lulu etc), they either didnt care cause it furthered their own goals of getting rid of lulu, or they guessed zero was now suzu and assumed he decided to support japan afterall. It was all apart of suzu's plan or whatever kinda thing.

Im not saying its the best ending ever, the whole season was ridiculous, but i understand how the ending could come about that way.

Actually, it was my assumption Nunnally figured out Lelouch's plan not because of touching his hand, but because it was so fucking obvious since episode 21. I assumed anyone who's known Lelouch close enough* would've been able to figure it out, as his portrayal as the Evil Emperor was just too cheesy to be taken seriously.

As for the "obvious Zerozaku is obvious" argument, see episodes 8 and 20 again. It's highly doubtful the entire public believed Lelouch's assailant was indeed the original Zero, if it was even still assumed at that point that Zero was ever one single person to begin with. Of course, the Black Knights would be the only obvious exception, but even then it's still difficult for someone in Code Geass to accurately guess Suzaku is Zero when a good part of the entire cast is able to perform the kind of GODHAX bullshit he can do.

*That is, anyone who knew Lelouch as every identity he took up; i.e. Kallen, C.C, and yes, even Nunnally.

I don't know if anyone could have "guessed" that evil Lelu is just a scam but either way it just looked bad. One minute they're all (by all I mean Nunally and Kallen) hating him and everything and another *bang* "omg poor Lelu you have sacrificed yourself for us, you're so gentle hearted". It stinks.

And about Suzaku being Zero, obviously no one thought that the one who killed Lelu was original Zero, I think it was pretty clear at that point that Lelu was in fact Zero. But it was also obvious (at least to those who knew (not common folks)) that the new zero is someone who was an important figure, and hmm... who could it have been...
And even if not, isn't it just something logical to do after all that shit happening, is to demand the new Zero to remove his mask? As in a "sign of good faith"?
