| A church? Hope it's not religious symbolism just for the sake of religious symbolism. Finally got the name of the island... And you know what would be a nice twist? If there wasn't anybody watching them. Wouldn't your natural reaction be that the girl is just afraid? I mean she's no psychic. We do have a psychic girl in this manga (to shame!) but it's not her. Why do everybody take her so seriously? |

Originally word "Raika" wasn't in Japanese. It was spelled in English, and they read it using katakana "ライカ島". Also the kanji you used 明 (akira) means "bright" and "happy". Don't create new meanings if you don't know Japanese. Finally my theory is a little far fetched and I'm hoping that I'm wrong. Japanese people don't see difference between "L" and "R" and authors of manga often mix it up. So maybe they actually mean "Laika Island" which is in the Republic of Vanuatu, just off the coast of Australia. I did a little research on Japanese websites with "ライカ島" and that is what I found, but neither the shape nor size matches, so I'm rather certain I'm wrong. |
