Full metal panic didnt sound like my thing, only reason i watched the first few episodes is because a friend recommended Fummofu but said watch a few episodes of the main series first so you know the story. I heard somewhere else about Clannad, ill take a look into it. |

| The reason he probably recommended a few of the first series is because FUMOFFU starts after the hijacking arc, or first novel. Its a good series both ways though and does have its romance. Erm other ones to mention, Kanon is romance and Clannad is more or less as well, basically it follows the same ideas of Kanon, but it still keeps itself different. Both worth watching. |

Watched Kanon :D Was looking at Clannad but it seems... very strange? if thats the right thing to say... May watch the first episode to see what its like though. Any more recommendations? |

| The only one i can think of that hasn't been mentioned and ticks all the boxes is El-Hazard, short enough that the plot doesn't get bogged down, and it actually has a plot not just a series of unconnected clichéd events not to mention that has the best use of time travel I've seen in a animé for a while and the lad actually makes a choice. Straying from the comedy side Infinite Ryvius has got romance and harems (kinda) but it is a LOT darker than your average harem. |
