THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.
----------------------------------------
Chapter 28 came out in the May 2012 issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. The Japanese title is "sore...demo...", and the goofy English subtitle is "Day of the Dead"

This is another serious chapter. Darleen presents three equally unpleasant options to Furuya, and he realizes that he must choose the least of the evils as he accepts responsibility for his actions. Even his grandfather doesn't have any positive suggestions.

And although Rea had, for a while, the hope that she was a bit different, she ends up realizing that she and Babu aren't that different after all...

I still think that this is leading way back to the beginning of the manga when Furuya remembered back to when he gave Rea the bike ride home and thought to himself that "that was the last chance he had to save her"...

Rea's airheadedness is the only warming part about this manga. Shit is starting to get really depressing lately.

I bought the May issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, where the story is being serialized, from Amazon Japan.

So I don't need scans...

I was surprised that Furuya decided to burn Babu and it became so dramatic.. kinda depressing chapter for me..

Well, he didn't want to give Babu to Darleen for experiments in her lab, nor did he want the "loose parts" to start to move around again, so it was his only good choice.

Now what will he do with Rea stopping him from cremating Babu? Essentially, Rea is telling Furuyu to do the same with her...

This is turning very serious. Unless Darleen or Grandpa pull some sort of miracle out of their respective asses, I can't see a happy ending.

Hmmm - maybe that's why the opening animation of the anime ends up with Rea pulling Furuyu into a grave... (The manga-ka is actively participating in the writing of the anime, so maybe he is giving a hint there...)

It was really sad chapter. Manga become less and less comedy. I pray for Furuya to find a solution. I wish we would see many more funny and heartwarming situations.

I hope it won't happen. Such romantic end wouldn't be bad but I much more would like happy ending.

I think comedy might just be a cocoon for most mangas. First starts out as a gag, then slowly evolves into a different genre for those manga that do not have much fighting scenes in them

For example:
To love ru
negima mahou sensei
REBORN
Gintama
Sora no otoshimono

I think there are a lot more out there, but it's pretty much evident that most mangas do not stay true to it's roots. Sankarea might change after this, which I like. I also really like Darin's dark character, I want her to be a more prominent character.

I could not wait anymore so I got my hands on the RAWs. Suffice to say IT’S OVER FOR BABU! Or is it? This chapter dealt more fan service of Darin for the 3rd time and got into serious shit. Here is what I though of it.

Starts out pretty nice with some Daring legs in the spoiler
while the atmosphere is serious deep dark.

I am totally O_O at the following,

HOLY SHIT! BABU BITES! O_O That is baffling that he would do that. He really did neck bite and willing to kill Chihiro. SHIT! That’s insane but I was right that Babu lost it.

I got to admit that fan service of Darin in the spoiler
folded much up to appeal of most likely US MALE FANS!
Well it was nicely done.

I liked the fact in the spoiler
that Chihiro did in fact try to protect Babu rather very well. At best he could.

The three conditions in the spoiler
sure heck as nasty all of them. The last is GAME OVER for the zombie.

Loved seeing Rea and Mero in the spoiler
looks like a nice bonding sessions of family. Mero sleeping like that is MOE.

Totally adored Chihiro in the spoiler
despite maniacal
he really wants to bring back Babu by putting it together.

DEEP CONVERSATION in the spoiler
wow! Grandpa’s expressions tell it all. I really was impressed with that.

Rea’s expression in the spoiler
shows that she is rather surprised at what is going on right away. Nice blush there.

OH IT’S OVER! OVER! In the spoiler
Babu TT_TT he is being cremated and Chihiro took the 3rd option. SHIT! I really feel sad there. So sad really.

All of a sudden in the following,

WTF REA? O_O A sudden bravery comes in and Rea is trying to save Babu? Dear Lord! That is insane! I could not believe it! It’s crazy!

It was pretty cool of Chihiro to rinse out Rea in the spoiler
I could still not believe it she saved Babu and she is still burned a little. I am not sure that burns are recoverable by zombies.

Rea looked so deep emotionally in the spoiler
it’s amazing how it looks.

A find it’s rather powerful in the spoiler
the arguing that is happening. Most likely the most powerful of the series yet. Strong vibes there.

Indeed the end has us seeing a crying face of Rea in the spoiler
that means ALL TO ME! Rea never cried like that in Zombie mode! I never saw her like this. Her emotions are most likely OVER 9000 and never seen as a zombie before. Not that strongly.

Finally the last part in the spoiler
leaves us with Is Babu alive under there or truly gone? BABUUUUUUUUUUU! MAKE IT! LIVE! DAMN IT! LIVE! It’s all I can hope till chapter 29.

He needs to sit down and explain Rea the sistuation... he cant just keep ignoring it and it would be better if she is aware.

Furuya is snapping; and Rea isn't helping matters either; its just getting more bitter since it seems like Gramps seriously doesn't have an answer, so its either Darin finding something with her new research or bitter endings for everyone.

Also while i said Rea wasn't helping matters by putting that choice on Furuya who was already losing it; i guess i can understand since its pretty much showing that she will end up like that also if she just accepts Babu being cremated.

why in the world would you want that.....you forget what this manga is about?

as for those two, it is pretty much a certainty they get whats going on....rea wanting babu to remain around is probably some indication that she also knows that might be her fate too. this might prove to be useful, since if she wants to live so badly she might just hang on long enough for a solution to be found.

Bitter ending please >=D

Btw, No, Furuya won't do that to rea, maybe to Babu but he won't do that to Rea. There is a difference between a human being against an animal . Also, Lover>Pet .
Rea is just worrying too much, she worries about lots of stuff .
So as you're laughing at this fool tonight , let me rid myself of any line that I might use to trip you up .

Shit went down, it's over for Babu, no way he didn't burn. I feel sad, I don't want that to be true but I see no hope.
Never expected Rea to jump in like that, telling him that at the end, don't know, I thought she just doesn't want to be alone as a zombie. She overcame the confused stage, her rotting body is the issue, right?

I don't know but it felt llike this chapter had some beautiful art, great angles, the use of shadow, the eyes, facial expressions and holy mother cow, those great shots at Gramps and Rea. Darin was strange, though, was she really turned on during that scene?

I'd throw Rea off the cliff - again. Annoying bitch. Now that cat will wake up crippled and burnt. Must be great to wake up amputated. At least it doesn't feel pain.

"Never underestimate zombies." It seemed like 18 was in the box, but I guess not. Cremating him would have been the best choice, but Rea, who is also a zombie, sees that, she might have other thoughts about it.

Chapter is kinda emotional.

I can't really blame her, though. After all, she doesn't know Chihiro got attacked by Babu and that 18 tore him apart, or even that Chihiro tried saving him afterwards.

All she knows is that he was burning Babu's body and given that she was quite attached to Babu (probably because he was a zombie as well), she didn't want to lose him. I even think she might start wondering if Chihiro will do the same to her eventually as well.

Even though she's different from Babu, she's still a zombie and she could revert back to the confused hunter stage at any given time. I'm not sure how well Rea is aware of that, though. She seems a bit too carefree to care, while it's actually a serious problem that neither Chihiro, Darin or granddad know an answer to. And even if she stays sane, her body will not last forever, so until a solution to that is found as well, she's basically living on borrowed time. On one hand, you could say that Rea is doing well by making the most of it that she can, but on the other, she does need to be a bit more realistic and understand that her current condition will not last.

Reas reaction wasn't totally unexpected though, as she didn't know any of the details of why Chihiro was burning him.

Huh, I can see why Rea did that. She's a zombie too and her only other zombie companion was Babu.

Good to see Chihiro finally faced the truth about Babu degenerating further and further into its primal instincts.

Needs moar comedy after all this!

The darkness continues for Chihiro. He opted for the best option, to finally let Babu rest in peace, but Rea won't have any of it. I guess she feels some sort of bond with Babu not only as a pet, but also as a fellow zombie that was "reborn" from the same potion.

Rea jumped into the fire to try to save Babu's burning remains. I just hope this doesn't result in more problems for her later. They're barely managing to keep her from quickly rotting away (no long term solution yet), and she does reckless acts like this.

Man, I hope that wasn't a foreshadowing.

Babu being beyond help, leaving Furuya with no other choice than giving him peace. Considering how similar Rea and Babu are, I hope it doesn't end up like that.
