Indeed, especially when the Major dived into Kago's cyberbrain. His memories flashed and for a brief moment the Major knew that Kago never wanted to kill or even hurt his parents.

As Motoko told Batou, he just wanted to show off his new body to his parents. I do agree with her, when you were a kid you were always so proud of your new toy that you wanted to show it off to everyone.

The episode was poignant and reveals a lot about being human. Family ties are still the ties that bind.

The end really got to me. I thought he was gonna kill his parents, but he actually just wanted them to see him strong.

I'm starting to like those mini-tanks. they are great in battle and have quite an interesting personality.

Nice episode... Much better than the first one.... The chapter was full of humanity.... It's weird, but the people here are part or are almost a cyborg... But we actually saw a lot of human emotions... Human personality... I dunno if we'll be able to produce, to make such things in a few years... but man.. seeing this Tank guy having those kind of emotions impressed me... Dunno if he really had a grudge against his parents ideas, but all this mess for just showing up in front of his parents... Well that really makes me think that the Takeshi Kamo or Kago guy really wanted to tell his parents something... Major was awesome as always... Batou is a beast for sure... and the Tachikomas are actually cute XD Nice episode

I agree with everyone, this episode was much better than the first. Both had their military value but this one went a little deeper which is exactly what I was looking for this time around. Let's hope it can continue to deliver.

That ass shot was ridiculously inappropriate. Sure, undo all the good will you worked up on creating a strong female character.

I think I'm going to love this show... the last line "mother, what do you think of my iron body?" got me quite emotional...

Some show take a whole episode/arc/series to get one point across, while a great show only need one sentence.

When she jumped on the tank to pull, it was a reference to the movie. I like the naughty shots of the Major when we see her in the tank

How silly. It's because she's actually a good character, and kickass, and hot in a decently built way, (and because it was momentary, and reasonable for the position she was in from a completely normal angle, and so didn't get in the way) that this was the first time I've ever appreciated an ass shot in anime.

Yep, definitely liked this one better. But the first one did kind of remind me of the movie Zatoichi the blind warrior.

So, I enjoyed this episode more than the first one. This is looking to me that it will be a series with a lot of different cases each episode that will eventually tie in into a bigger plot, kinda like Fringe.

Ah, I love this show so much. I think this is like the 6 or so time I've watched this series and it just works so well every time I see it. Ghost in the Shell is truly in a class of it's own.

As far as this episode, yeah, it's damn good stuff. It's a credit to excellent writing that I felt so much emotion in the last 5 or so minutes.

I also liked this more than the first one, nothing mindblowing though. Many of the reviews were praising the animation but it seemed to me this had a lot of still moments, long stretches with just one mouth moving at a time. And Motoko's outfit is ridiculous when everyone else is wearing normal clothes. I can just imagine telling someone who hasn't seen anime that there's more to it than pokemon and lolitas, that there can be depth even, and then showing this.... a detail like that outfit would surely make a lot people think this is anime's response to Tomb Raider, a fantasy for teenage boys.

So the guy wanted to show to his parents, his new reborn body and that's it? That was sentimental in a sense, but his personal desire kind of ruin it for the rest of the towns folk and of course the damages. He should of at least let his fatty friend know the inside scoop. The heroine looks hot and milfy :)

Nice episode full of action. That damn tank's barrier sure was hard to crack even though it's a defenseless mind as Major says. I don't feel sorry for Kago this episode although he did have issues. Glad his mission failed tbh.

Great episode. I was really surprised at how emotional this episode was. Not to the point where it will make you cry, but it kinds of hits you and you get that twinge in your chest. Looking forward to the next episode.

Better than first ep. I kinda like how the ending is ambiguous. Sure, most people (me included) probably want to think that Kago harbors no ill will against his parent but who knows. The last memory of Kago sure strikes a chord within me.

I was hoping for Kusanagi to rip her arms off when she was on the tank, but alas nothing of that sort happens.....good for her.

As for the ass shot (no pun intended), it's just the usual fan service, what more there is to say about it. Is it unn-ass-cessary? (this is a good one ,right? ....no?) Well let's just say that I don't give a shit about it.

The Tachikomas are weird and all with their high-pitched voice in a mini tank, but they are kinda cute and quite amusing to watch . It's good that I find them not too annoying to watch (for now).

I understand that it's good for many people but I guess it's not my cup of tea.

Stand-alone episode, very compelling for the part about the action and reflexive.
Very well concerted plot and narrative.
Touching at the end, very nice OST.
Graphically it is ok, but especially the CG is excellent as well years later.
Animations that do not fear the past.
Beautiful scenery also.
Already in evidence characters Motoko, Batou, Aramaki, Togusa, Saito and Tachikoma.

Wow, the ending of the episode made me want to cry. All he wanted to do is show them his steel body :( Yoko Kanno's composition is excellent like always.

Loved the moment/homage when the Major jumped on the tank and tried to pull the hatch or w/e. Thank goodness her arms didn't rip off T_T

And I love those mini-tanks!!
