Congratulations. Though with it being based off Tesuwan Atom it feels as though he was riding Tezuka's coattails. But whatever, they're both excellent pieces of work in their own right

Urasawa Naoki sure is a great manga artist.
His works like Monster, 20th Century Boys and now Pluto are all award-winning. :)

Pluto totally deserved the prize just by having names like Urasawa and Tezuka behind it's awesomesauce.
People who love manga should be obligated to read Tezuka's works. Without him manga wouldn't exist at all (or at least it would be really different of what it is now). Urasawa is another genius with genius works like Monster and Pluto.

This is awesome and most-deserving win in a long time.

Every manga of Urasawa has been an awesome ride (maybe except Monster which i found a bit too bland for Urasawa's standards).

I loved the mysteriousness and atmosphere of Pluto. I loved the slowly unraveling plot and the huge wtfdidnotseeitcoming twist that came. Urasawa took something i half-didnot care(astro boy) and turned the concepts in it into something that could have come form the mind of Isaac Asimov(seriously the way it handled robots reminded me a lot of the laws of robotics and overall portrayal)

His newest manga, Billy Bat is just as awesome(and maybe even more so) and I hope that one day it will also get its deserved attention.

Its quite sade that we are getting rush-rushed by generic yaoi/shounen/schoolife and so on type of anime series and movies and Urasawa's works(apart from monster) do not get the needed and deserved attention in anime community.

To anyone who HAS NOT read Urasawa yet: PLEASE DO SO!!

He has written some of the most brilliant and intriguing manga series.

PLUTO is a nice blend of SF, mystery, suspence and action.
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Urasawa Naoki once again winning awards as he should be. Probably the most consistently really good mangaka out there.

a great mangaka but i think another reason he wins such awards is because his style of storytelling and art is a nice mix of Japanese and European way.
