Has Japan always liked sports so much?

Will look forward to Kuragehime anime.

If you r referring to Giant Killing, it is much more than sports. I watched the anime till ep5, and I have little or no interest in soccer. Lol. You can go read my review to understand..
Manga could be a lil diff though.

Really, two soccer manga and a baseball one...I'm interested in Kuragehime though, it looks like it will at least be interesting.

Don't forget it's world cup year this year, guys. But yes, Giant Killing (the anime. I haven't read the manga, but I don't see any reason why it would be worse) is good and I'm looking forward to the Kuragehime anime as well. (Brains Base and Omori Takahiro FTW)

wow lots of sports winners this year... guess that means there wasnt really anything that interesting (when in doubt, choose a sports manga) dont get me wrong, sports manga are good, but i dont think they can stand up to a good story driven manga.

Haven't read any of those, but hooray for Ace of Diamonds. Since I like titles with a sports theme to them. :)

Ok, three sports manga awarded by Kodansha this time. I'm smelling the World Cup effect here, no ?

Implying sports Manga do not have a story.

Considering the World Cup, I'm surprised Kuragehime made it there, yet I'm very pleased. This looks to be great + noitaminA!

Ace of Diamond is great, I love it... this makes me hopeful about a future anime!!

I don't like watching sports irl but I just love sports anime! They make them really exciting, I feel adrenaline rushes in my blood when they have games (especially baseball..) The psychological aspect of the characters involved probably does it... we don't get into the players heads irl ^^

FUCK YEAH. Giant Killing is such a fun manga, and so is the anime, I can see why they'd give an award to it.

Anyway, great to see Giant Killing win and I'm even more excited to check out the Kuragehime anime this fall now. Might have to check out Ace of Diamond although Oofuri has spoiled baseball anime for me by being so damn good.

I can't decide if I should point out the irony considering how sports manga are reading about fictional characters in real sports instead of being outside playing real sports or if I should suggest having most of your posts begin with this as it would be accurate in most topics.

Well at least all of them deserve the award. Sport titles of these days always developing in good ways... More realistic, more drama, etc...

You forgot to mention the jellyfish. Jellyfish are awesome, after all.

But yeah, I'm definitely going to be watching this
