Yes indeed. I loved it. Such a great manga. I'll read it again anytime.

The thing that would have made this better is if she had chased all those bullies, boyfriend included, around with a knife when she went nuts that one chapter.

I agree. Her going yandere and killing all those jerks would have been great.

watching, waiting, commiserating

heh, the way it ended was still great, even w/o blood.
The looks on her classmates' faces was priceless.

What would have been nice was the looks on the classmates and ex-boyfriend's faces when they read her manga! I had been hoping for that and didn't get it but oh well. It was a really good read!

One of the best, most emotional manga I've ever read. It was a very crazy but addicting roller coaster ride and I love the heroine Sawako. She is indeed a very strong girl. The only thing missing at the end was divine punishment for the ex-boyfriend, but not showing him, in a way, means he has been forgotten. In any case, I love this manga and highly recommend it.

I agree. I highly recommend this manga. ^^

I would have loved to see the students' reactions when they read her manga, but I'm guessing that would sort of ruin the ending in a way. So I suppose we can guess what happened from that point on.

I loved that in the end, Sawako was able to not submit to the "fake" words of her classmates and say good-bye to everyone included. She's become stronger and because of that, happier. Serves them right.

Then again, that may be Japan's culture where societal norms are valued. Hmm.

that ending would of been enjoyable as well lol

"I am the bone of my sword,
Steel is my body and Fire is my blood,
I have created over a thousand blades,
Unknown to Death,
Nor known to Life,
Have withstood pain to create many weapons,
Yet, those hands will never hold anything,
So as I pray, unlimited blade works"

Good ending.

I envy her braveness, I couldn't rip my own certificate.

And that's one way a school shooting happens. Would that have been fun? Go watch the movies 'Elephant' or 'We Need to Talk About Kevin'.

No. It's not cool, and that's not a solution. There's anger seething, yes. And sure, I was also hoping she takes out a cutter and slashes someone - you sure as hell feel the hate for the bullies. But bad can turn to worse any moment, especially when you're standing alone. Just like how it actually happened when she came back from the bathroom, kicked that girl, and they cornered her again and stepped on her. It's not simple, it's not easy.

But redirection - converting that anger, sadness and frustration into something positive - that becomes way more meaningful and is the window for salvation. A victim becoming another bully is not helping anyone.

This manga served as a reference for real victims, and just one possible way out. But it's also about chance and opportunity (I really don't want to say luck). Even here, there were a few favourable circumstances for her (supporting father, a mother anxious to understand).

Honestly, a school that kills a kid is not worthy to be called an educational institution. It's difficult dealing with the situation for teachers too, and there's no one-solution-fits-all. But any outlet will atleast provide for an opportunity - a teacher, a guidance counselor, a friend, maybe even a pet. Or promote more vocational education - like calligraphy here. Could be dance, sports, art.

I hope the kids in such situations find ways to heal.
