Now that I'm in college, I'm even more busy and have less time for reading manga and/or watching anime. However, that doesn't mean that I've dropped these two hobbies! I'm trying to spend my time productively instead of mindlessly consuming media (although I'd argue that manga and anime aren't necessarily
tasteless), so I'm starting to draw and write more... hopefully.
I'm Jazz. If you've come across this profile, chances are that you've seen one of my reviews, or that you've been redirected from my
flavors. That includes my
Tumblr and
Twitter. Please feel free to follow me on either account if you are interested in what I have to offer: whimsical and dramatic illustrations; cartoons with a special emphasis on American films and Japanese anime; progressive agenda such as feminism and anti-racism; and occasional rants. Thanks!
As for my recommendations, I would highly suggest reading/watching His Dark Materials [book trilogy]; Avatar: the Last Airbender [US cartoon]; Hunter x Hunter [manga]; Eyeshield 21 [manga]; Summer Wars [animated film]; and Elementary [TV series]. If you are looking to explore any underrated stories, simply check out Dennou Coil, Paranorman, and Voices of a Distant Star. You'll enjoy these, I promise.

Anti Stereotyped and Weak Shoujo Heroines!
Well, in the end I can only hope that you'll end up enjoying it enough for it to at least not have been a waste of your time. As a fan(boy) of the author though, I will recommend something else, small though - when you have 20 mins free and don't know what to read or watch, maybe because you don't have the time to start something big in fear of getting too into it and losing focus on whatever you should actually be doing (a common thing for me, procrastination is a good old friend of mine), you should try one of his oneshots called Reading Time. Twenty something pages, it's really simple but strangely pleasant and perhaps a bit deep, depending on your interpretation. It should be easy to find for download, it's chapter 5 from "Mizukami Satoshi Tanpenshuu" (Mizukami Satoshi's Short Stories). One of his early works. It's on MangaTraders and if you prefer reading online, MangaFox probably has it too.
Sorry for writing so much, I get distracted when I'm talking about this.
Anyway, after reading the review I believe it is likely that you could also enjoy Hoshi no Samidare, which is also known in English as The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer, by the same author. I'm not saying the stories are similar, but the author's unique style is there so maybe you'll enjoy it as well.
Also u've a nice manga list haha, well laters
It's nice seeing someone who doesn't prefer the main three :D
I personally like Senri and Rima but they almost get no attention neither in the anime nor the manga >.<
What's your favorite character?
