Yes, pretty soon, too. That's the main reason I watched Kiddy Grade. Oh and CharonChanEcho, there's a spoiler tag: (spoiler) spoiler goes here (/spoiler). Replace ( and ) with [ and ] .

Wow, what a ride. For me this series started as medicore, but then it changed. I sure cried a lot during last episodes. In this last one I mostly shed tears of joy.
Still kinda wordless...

i nearly dropped this one and then i finaly finished it a while back. it turned out to be interesting but i tend to not like "mission" based anime plots.

Dverger being Alv's mother is a little disturbing, especially when Dverger is younger O.o.

I think the general consensus is the show gets better than one expects. I was still disappointed with the ending overall though. Too cliche and "happily ever after" for me.

It does try to explore too many themes in too short of a time. Immortality, facing one's past, class conflict, defying authority, and all. But it's still pretty good.

Seasonreaper: you mean apparent age is really all that significant to these characters? :P

kisami: I was kinda bored by the blatant Mary-Sue-ism in the mission-based plots at the beginning, but the middle third of this series got me hooked, and by the end of the series I almost pleaded to be able to see more such mission-based episodes. Because I just wanted to see these adorable characters doing cool things again.

ZoiQ: Hmm, I thought the opening theme was meh (though the French version is apparently quite good, go look for it on YouTube), but I practically fell in love with the ending theme (that's actually what got me into the series in the first place). I love the Bmin Gmaj Amaj Dmaj progression in the harmonies.

I agree with the previous posts, the ending felted a bit cliched. However, I'm happy Eclair was able to face herself and stand up for others, and I enjoyed the development of characters through the series. I gave it an 8. :)

So uh, they didn't show what happened to Mamiko Noto. That saddens me.
Loved those stillshots of various incarnations of Lumiere and Eclair though... but almost makes me feel sad too.

...did you just mention a character even more obscure (Vendredi) than one that I really like (Mercredi/Pfeilspitze)?

Lol.

Also, yeah, those were nice. Turns out that Éclair's "true form" is an idealistic, intrepid redhead. :D And still beautiful as ever.

Descent series, though the whole 'main characters changing appearance mid- series thing' made me disappointed. Kinda felt like a part of their identity was gone, or they were replaced by different characters (though technically they are the same...)

One question I have to ask though...whats the deal with the baby at the end? Who's was that?

I don't know, but apparently it's the reincarnation of Chevalier D'Autriche.

And the other baby is the daughter of that SO lady that Éclair helped a bunch of episodes earlier.

I thought the ending was great! Is a happy ending wrong? Boy this world must be too perfect for people start craving for some sadness and destruction. Eclair had her own share of sufferings and burdens, bout time she gets bit happiness herself.

I really liked how the series shifts between the light hearted elements of the main pair but explores the dark past that took place before this series began.

There were definitely some weak plot moments and questionable logic displayed by the antagonist, but this anime was filled with great moments too.

Overall, a great anime for its time.

Soukou No Strain
Mai-Otome
Murder Princess
Stratos 4

These four have similar tone (action, futuristic, robotic, mecha, female lead etc) to Kiddy Grade but Stratos 4 is more lighthearted and consists mostly of mini slice-of-life -like advantures, which may put some people off. Otherwise the first 3 are totally awesome and totally underrated!

And for those who do appreciate Stratos 4 and such like mini advantures series I propose: Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran

Here's also a good lighthearted shoujo: Ultra Maniac

One year later after rewatching this I still feel the same: wish there were more, I'm going to miss them for a while. Kiddy Girl-AND's Ascoeur & Q-Feuille don't have the same appeals as Eclair and Lumiere. Wish there were more...

i think they had new bodies because it was further in time and they must have died again. that is the only way i can think they would need new bodies. Although i have to admit i preferred eclair with the purple hair.

Interesting story about the new girl referencing the first episode, ha.

Was a good show, turned out much better than I expected and was better than it let on in the first 6-7 episodes.

Éclair and Lumière have been reincarnated several times now. But they keep their memories of their experiences. Mostly.

Watched this series over four years ago and I still remember it fondly. The plot direction is a bit jumbled, but that's okay. And when they say that "God is a girl", I think of Éclair. :)

I liked the episodic mission based approach at the beginning a lot. A lot pf mini arcs with different planets/problems/people are shown. This allows a lot of variety and interesting mini stories. It is debatable if 21 minutes is enough for his kind episodic approach, whereas Star Trek for example has twice the length. The whole slaves and evil noblesse thing was interesting, although it was quite obvious who the good/bady guys were. IMO it was all about following orders and doing what is right in contrast to what you are ordered to, so follow your own morale/heart. In the middle the chose and overaching story which is also nice, though I prefered the episodic approach a little. A little to action/battle heavy, but it is a shonen, so what do you expect? Liked the fast pacing of the story. The last story "arc" with the ship as doomsday device was also cool. The plot twist/revelations at the end were quite to much. I am your mother, twice. Also who did eclair/lumier survive the energy chamber?

I didn't like the episodic start. The middle part was interesting. The last part became a convoluted mess. 6/10

This series was all over the place. First third of the episodes just felt monster-of-the-week-ish while setting up little things that started to pay off during the second third which is where I found it the most interesting but then the last third it went off the rails and tried to cram in too much. I was really confused when they started to changed bodies repeatedly and it wasn't clear for a while whether they were the same characters. The general vagueness of what was going on in the story really brought it down.

6/10 overall; will likely watch the second season down the road.
