| Dat ears... This anime is sure strange but it also has its magicks hidden and that remains to be seen. Benten is sorta unique but I guess I liked her younger Satomi-self better :) And I just wonder - why was Benten there turning off the lights in the end? |

| 5/5 Episode that is characterized by the screeching that is felt in looking at the character designs and scenes, being a production PA Works are wonderful, but not divine because of the colors used that must be aligned with those used for the characters. Pastel colors that make the characters even more two-dimensional than they are! XD However, thanks to its extremely beautiful backdrops realism that distinguishes them, an acquaintance of mine said that they are identical to those seen in Kyoto! Very original plot, interesting for many unrevealed clues, there is much to discover! * _ * Narration slow but intriguing, the stretch is very melancholy perhaps because of the BGM! OP funny, AND beautiful! Rating of 5/5 for now! |

| Mmm, I'm not particuliary interrested in the concept, it remind me a bit of Yozakura Quartet, which I think that the animation is really great, but the story is too bland. I don't understand who that purple haired girl is. She's a human or one of those flying thing? Anyway, I'm gonna continue watching it, but I hope it doesn't become a drudgery to watch it... |

| Well the concept is definitl unique. I haven't seen anything similar to this. There were definitely some funny parts. "Pervert!" Hahahaha. Don't really like the OP but I do lik the ED. It has a nice tune. I like it so far. I wonder where it'll go. |

| Good start imo,looks like a character driven story and seems overall interesting. Nice ost and the background art is simply amazing. I love the OP which kinda reminds of Tatami Galaxy's. 4/5 I just love voice-overs at the end of an episode ;) |

| My second try of getting past the first episode, I hope it doesn't disappoint, after hearing how good it was. So far, I wasn't all that impressed. The interaction the tanuki had with his master and Benten felt awkward. Not sure what it was, but imo too many sarcastic remarks kinda make the dialogues weird. I am also not a fan of the voice actor choice for the tanuki protagonist. The soundtrack by the end of the episode was really good, as I have mentioned before, but it didn't fit the tone of when it was played. Hopefully it drastically improves by the next few episodes. Next one looks promising. |

| So we have humans, raccoons and tengu. The main character is one of those raccoons who can shapeshift. The old man is a tengu that lost the ability to fly though through an incident caused by Shimogamo and Benten. Benten is a normal human that actually learned to fly, she's the most interesting in this bunch. Otherwise nothing to really pick up on, there were some funny moments though. |
| Well this is a strange but fun little series. Started watching it because I knew it was based on a book from the author of Tatami Galaxy. And I like PA Works, and it has a second season out very soon. Did not even know it was about tanukis so that was a pleasant surprise. At first I didn't know how I felt about the main characters gender bending. But by the end I liked it, thought it was pretty well intentioned if nothing else. His glib speech to his master about why it made the master uncomfortable felt very meta textual and significant. Maybe even vaguely supportive of trans people as he implies the only problem is your own hang ups. I also really liked when he had to remove a breast to fire the arrow Amazon style. I can't make heads of tails of the plot yet. Why is our main character studying under one of the bird people? Who is Benten? Why is the main character remotely cool with her if she eats tanukis? How many siblings are there? Who the hell are the Friday Fellows? What's the cedar tree incident the main character feels so guilty for? A lot of unanswered questions hang in the air and I can't wait to figure them out. |

| A lot of information and characters in this first episode. Not only does our main protagonist not confine to gender norms, but he smokes and drinks too. Rarely do we see a teenage protagonist so outside the norm. I'd like to hear more about the "cedar incident" that led to the professor getting wounded and likely this weird distant relationship between him and his daughter. I also find it interesting how his daughter will claim that she's fully accepted a human life, and yet she still uses her flying ability. |

| What a mischievous woman... the nature of a tengu is to fly freely in the sky, but why did she join a cult that eats tanuki? This first episode didn't feel like the first episode, at least to me. It does seem like the type of anime I'd enjoy though, so I hope some of the questions in my brain get answered in the later episodes. |
