Ashita no Joe lived up to its status. I was well aware of the ending already unfortunately, but that didn't subtract from the experience one bit.

I'd say the first series wins over the second a bit for me, but they're both legendary.

Such a good ending, Joe closes his eyes before the results were announced, he didn't know if he won or lost but he knew that he gave his best

He died doing what he loved.

It's a bit open-ended, would've liked to know what happened to everyone after Joe passed, especially Jose and Yoko, but this was his story so it's only fitting that it ends when he has.

It almost made me cry, but it didn't since the tone shifted right about where I was starting to tear up. Nevertheless, the impact wasn't lost. Hell, I knew he was going to end up dead anyway because of other anime referencing it. Perhaps if I didn't know his fate I would've shed a tear.

I had a great time watching this show, but I was a bit confused at times because some fights are Anime original. apparently. 9/10, for the anime, maybe I'll give a different rating to the manga since that should be the way to consume the story in it's purest form, but there's nothing to say that the Anime couldn't do it better.
I have read 2 perfect chapters of manga; They are Usogui Chapter 203 and Onani Master Kurosawa Chapter 23.

Beautiful ending to an amazing series. 10/10 finale.

I, like most people nowadays, knew the ending, but that actually encouraged me to watch the series to see how it happened. However, luckily things like Rikiishi's death were unknown to me so the series still had plenty to offer.

This episode though, wow. Jose couldn't handle fighting a walking corpse that refused to die during the match. I have a funny feeling he'll have retired from boxing after this, a last "kill" from Yabuki Joe the Killer. And joe himself, well, we all know. I still broke down and cried despite knowing this ending for many years, it really did an amazing job of creating the tone throughout the series, and especially over the last 8 or so episodes.

Goodbye, Joe.

This series has been an amazingly beautiful journey from start to finish. Throughout this show weve met plenty of amazing people, and im glad most of them where recurring characters. I liked seeing Joes fellow friends from Juvie watch his last match along with Wolf and Gondo. Im especially glad Carlos got to see it aswell.

This match was long and hard for both boxers and though i was already spoiled on how it ended the journey to get there was amazing, along with seeing everyones reactions to Joe passing away. Jose also looked very different at the end of the fight with his hair turning white along with looking very scared/traumatized. I would assume that was his last match aswell. Though i loved the ending i wish there was a little more to what happened after with maybe a funeral for Joe with everyone attending and paying there respects but overll this show was Amazing.

Rest In Peace Joe Yabuki.

Officially my number #1 favorite anime. May not be the best anime ever, but my #1 probably forever. Idk where to start with this anime. It's been such a wonderful ride. So many emotions and laughs. Been so long since I watched a 100+ episode anime. So many amazing scenes in this episode and flashbacks. Pretty sure it's implied that Rikiishi's spirit gave a helping hand to Joe. That was beautiful. Also, Yoko coming back and deciding to cheer Joe was so unexpected and full of emotion. I think Joe giving the gloves to Yoko symbolizes Joe confessing his love for her as well. She was the only one who didn't give up on him till the end. Even Danpei was gonna throw in the towel. Noriko wanted to change Joe, but Yoko finally accepted Joe as himself and decided to be by his side till the end. I know we all wished for him to at least have won the match, but honestly, it didn't even matter to Joe. Boxing was a passion for him. Something that kept him going after enduring a harsh childhood and life. He went out doing what he loved. He embraced death smiling in that chair and I'm sure he's at peace. Joe was a great inspiration for me and I'll keep him in mind whenever I set out on a journey to achieve something for myself. Joe Yabuki's fire was for sure burning hot and almost blinding. He gave it his all till all that remained was pure ash. I'll always remember Joe Yabuki, the Wild Kid. May we all stay Gold like Joe until we're White. Rest well, Joe! > 5:39 AM, 08/11/24

I didn't enjoy the story after Rikiishi, too repetitive. Tho I like the ending, I mean his pathetic demise is a good lesson.
