| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Oh great it's Grottomon again. I'm still a bit confused about this 'slide evolution' thing though but damn, poor Zoe-chan ;.; Well, actually I get this slide evolution somewhat as I think Grottomon is able to take the spirits' forms/abilities through that evolution. Lol @ Garamon. It looks like a ripoff of Metalweregurumon from Digimon Adventures. Oh well, episode was nice though, probably one of the best so far in terms of action. |

| You can tell they were ripping off Adventure. When Kouji was getting his Beast Evolution a bgm "remix" from Adventure was playing; those notes were too similar. Plus, Grammon being a redesign of Metalweregrurumon. Yet what got me was that this ep brought up the idea of teamwork (3 times no less) and proceeded to fist it in the ass. What's the point of even bringing it up if you can't have the gang beat the first minor villain together? Shouldn't that be the focus, not the Beast Evolution (aka the Crest Evolution)? Even the concept of 'unable to control' was from Adventure, lol. AND have Izumi, who hasn't won ONE battle yet btw, lose the only thing that made her useful. What is the point of her character again? Why even let this villain have the ability to take away the Chosen Children's Spirits in the first place? Because Adventure did it. Easily the worst episode. This season continues to show the writers either don't know or care about why certain concepts worked in Adventure. Plus, this ep was SO cheap in animation, it's ridiculous. |
| Dat note. Koji, Bokomon, and Bakamon left. Takuya plays football. Dat fall. Gotsumon. Grottomon appears. Spirito Evolution! Wolfmon! Gigasmon. Wolfmon is down. So Bakumon just left while they were sleeping, huh? Because he's not the monster of the week, he had to be gone by morning. Even though Izumi sacrificed herself to save Tomoki, I am not surprised she lost her spirit first mainly because she hasn't been winning her battle. Interesting that they decided to let Koji get his spirit first before Takuya. Yes, Garmmon reminded me of MetalGarurumon. The new Beast Spirit shinka animation doesn't make up for Koji's lame ass shinka scan scene. I love the group shinka scan scenes with Takuya, Izumi, Junpei, and Tomoki. All the best ones next to each other for comparison. As I stated before, Takuya and Izumi's are the best. |
