The anime seems to be faithful to the manga, and judging by the opening it looks like it will continue to follow the manga's plot.

You call it faithful when they introduced Yuuki in the second episode even before Toki, have him start his battle with Hitomi since the second episode and even have Yukihina work with Hitomi? -.-"

Well, unless you consider only Ogami and Sakura's side...it's...meh, still not really THAT faithful. They changed quite a lot of things from the manga. All comedic scenes in the manga got cut out (unless you consider how everyone misunderstood the two's relationship as comedic...) I'd say, only the first episode is kinda faithful to the manga.

Second episode...well, the scene with Ogami and Sakura "outside of school" is pretty similar to the manga. Inside school? Not really...Plus, they introduced Yuuki, who wasn't even supposed to appear during this arc AT ALL, and even have him start fighting with Hitomi (while the two actually are never together in the manga at all) as soon as second episode of the whole series.

Third episode...the thing inside school is OK. They changed the scene with Nenene a lot...more like, they actually change the location of the student council room as well, actually (I don't recall that building in the manga). The scene with yakuza is changed, and I prefer the manga one better. The manga has Ogami fight with the yakuza first, then the polices barge in, and Ogami started burning them as well. The anime...has the polices there in the first place. I kinda kill the effect and the manga one is more dramatic...It shows that the world isn't all pure like Sakura thinks and people, even the polices, won't listen to her word in a much more dramatic and much better way. The thing with police chief is also changed. Instead of having the entire police squad surrounding the building initially, and that chief came out of the car just to find his entire squad gone and Ogami is standing there to burn him (and Ogami did burn him), the anime has the chief's car as the only car at the very beginning, then Ogami came out to tell him that he killed all the yakuza already. There was a chase and in the end, Toki was the one who judged him.

AKA, nope it's not faithful. It won't be faithful. I mean, Yuuki and Rui aren't supposed to be in Hitomi Arc in the beginning, and both of them are present...and Yukihina...-_-"

I don't have time right now, but I said in episode 3 discussion that I'll make a dedicated thread on how its changing events, but still remaining in the realm of canon.

So, the events are slightly changed but the entire story before Seekers/Re Arc can be rewritten in my opinion.

why do the people that make anime decide to make their own version of the story ?

isnt it better to use the original that might already be successful enough??

i have not watched alot of anime but i noticed that most of the time making their own versions isnt as good as the original :X

I would say no since like Ju-da-su said Yuuki was introduced way to soon and that he isn't suppose to be in the beginning ARC and a character before him isn't introduced yet. (episode 2 base) basically putting it they introduced characters way before they were suppose to show up. I'm guessing to either speed up the plot or enough speed to cover this certain ARC seen in the opening. :/ the first episode followed the manga if that matters to you XD

Well, the first three episodes do seem to be inferior to the manga to me...though anime staffs did mention that they are all approved by the author herself...

But again, it's still true that Hitomi Arc and anything before that can actually be altered up to when Hitomi first mentioned about

without really affect the entire plot as much. (Though got to be honest, I'm surprised they'll show Sakura's past so quickly...-_-")

I only hope it doesn't go down the same path as SDK. Anything other than that is fine. Just don't steer the anime way off the track and "end" it too soon.

Inferior yes, but there are a lot of things in the anime that are done better than it was in the manga. For instance the fact that Sakura makes the bussdriver pull over makes a lot more sense if you ask me. I also enjoyed the whole constant hugging.

But Rui being introduced this early seems like a seriously bad idea. Do they really need five Code:Breakers to fight Hitomi?

It doesn't follow the manga, unfortunately. There's a few things that are done "better", such as Sakura making the busdriver pull over, but other than that, I can't say I like the way the "rush" the characters in.

This is what I think will happen: They will introduce all 5 code:breakers + hitomi early on to get us introduced to the characters. They've showed a hint at 32 december already, and as the anime is only scheduled for 13 episodes for now, I'm not sure how they are going to get clearance of that (if there will be any).

Giving the limited time, I think they will introduce the breakers early and then fight Hitomi and hope for a second season to start in the spring/summer.

Another note: I don't like the translators calling Nyanmaru "mewton"... It just sounds wrong Q.Q

edit: Still watching episode 3.

YES. JUST YES. ugh.

I don't really think the smooth storyline from the manga will be followed. I think the only main antagonist right now will be Hitomi. Since fitting it everything in thirteen episodes is just wrong. Like said, a second season would make the anime interesting as the manga is.

As of episode 7 i think it's safe to say the anime is going in a completely different direction then the manga did but that's just my take on it thus far.

I never thought why this anime has nothing to do with a manga despite so much changes including an unexpected plot twist from what we seen in EP8 like betrayals & screw-up situation goin on even though it's only 13 episodes total.

After watching the most recent episode, I think the plotline at the end will end up the same. The changes in events and the introduction of characters that shouldn't be this arc can be viewed as improvements or a failed attempt to improve it. Hopefully the anime will meet ends with the manga by the time this arc ends so that a second season can be possible! :D Personally, I don't think the anime has done a bad job. I'm fine with how the manga and the anime have done this.

I couldn't handle the changes... I feel like i am watching an entirely different anime lol. There is a lot of comedic situation being left out. I hate all the changes. And i think there will be no 2nd season. Let's see if the bd sells.

I think Code Breaker will going in the same way like SDK went. Man... i love SDK but they really !@#$ it up.

Yeah...I really feel like they effed the show up towards the end. It started out well, but it only went downhill from there. One thing I did like though was the flashback of Hitomi. Everything else was bleh...besides how epic Yuuki was! xD

Like I said,

I feel like this anime has indeed nothing to do with the manga. It's all original based.
