Eh, it's been a Gundam series, albeit a strange one. The writing, spur-of-the-moment romances, and other idiosyncrasies are all there.

Why do the serious conflicts never feel all that threatening, though? Am I too disengaged to even care about colony drops at this point? e_e

That's right! I was hoping for that.

Turn X, maybe now we have Turn A's rival.

Most of the Gundam good arcs happens on Earth. But in Turn A, things started to become really good when they went to space.

I absolutely love the OSTs in this Gundam. For example:

A new opening only now?

This Ghinghanam and his army are stupid to be so desparate to get a real battle. -_-"

Seeing a "Turn X top", I am a bit disappointed that this series doesn't avoid the mandatory upgraded model for its main Gundam.

The nuclear heads are finally useful ! By the way, looks like Sochie became more aware than she was before, less "hot-blooded".

4/5 Kihel is really a strong woman, even recognized by Ghinghanam himself.

Nobody here seemed to notice but doesn't the Von lunar city have a name very close to the Von Braun city from long ago (the Universal Century)?

Because it is often not the central focus of the shows. 0079's One Year War actually felt increasingly threatening. (and Char's Counterattack Axis drop had a good tension build-up)

Space is so vast, yet the story seems to have become so narrowly focused since they've left Earth.

Definitely feels like a Gundam series. Nukes. Colony drops. Space theater really helped get this series going.

Visually nice new OP, but the song is so unusually happy. I liked the earlier one more.

For some reasons the hairstyles of Lily and Gym seem similar to me.

Keilas Guilie (a fortress from Victory) namedrop, I see.

I like how these "cool guys" from Ghingham's fleet are just switching tons of formations but losing every time they encounter an enemy other than an asteroid (and even then one of them was destroyed by debris after the explosion) xD

The new OP felt not really fitting with the war theme, it's it meh tbh. Even then the new OP clearly hinting at something for Loran. Hopefully, it turns out well, one can dream lol. Turn A long lost brother, Turn X has appeared. Second nukes drop this time there are two of them. Kind of curious about how powerful both of these Turn Gundams are.

Now i can safely say that Loran is my favorite protagonist of the Gundam franchise.

Really didnt care much for the colony drop in this episode, its not like there is anyone notable in von braun city and we dont even know how it's like inside there so far.
Though it was nice to see Loran determined to stop it. That katana guy in the ship is a weirdo tho and i wish him a painful and embarrasing death.
