wonder why this is rated so low

the animation may not be as good as when Miyazaki wouuld t 3 mintue story i good Solid and shows Miyazaki listend to head Directors when he was a Jr in older shows like Fujimaru [ when he worked with later Ghibil co founder Takahata in that prodution Takahata was Inbetween animation and Miyazaki was Asisitant Director [ to dezaki Osamu]

I don't think it helps that there wasn't really a television series to go with this. This was probably just a commercial for the manga (which was popular, I don't know if it still is), and while it looks like it's an interesting story, all we have going for it is a pilot, or just a two-minute long commercial. If it had actually been adapted, maybe it'd be more recognized, or well-received. I found it okay, not much to write home about, honestly.

Though you can see Miyazaki's animation style in it, particularly in the running scene, so that's something.

Well I've seen it, it was OK. I understand it's a pilot uhmm promotional episode and all, but I expected more from Miyazaki... well it's just my expectations so the disappointments were also my own. 5/10
