| This was a really good episode and the ending was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing at Amelia berating Xellos and Gourry's "animal instinct" at knowing he was a monster all along |

| Hmm, so the old woman was a shadow of the Water Dragon King created by the Claire Bible manuscript. That’s pretty interesting. I think it says a lot about how capable of a mage Lina is for her to get mixed up in the conflicts of such high level monsters. My guess is that Hellmaster thinks he can use Xellos to leverage Lina against Gaav and kill Gaav in the process. She was able to defeat Shabranigdo himself, after all, so if Hellmaster is aware of that it would make sense. Still, as a servant of Shabranigdo, Hellmaster is ultimately an enemy, which would in turn eventually make Xellos an enemy too... unless he betrays his kind also. It would be nice to think of him as an ally since I like him, but that might be wishful thinking. I’d like to see Xellos’s full power. Also, I think Lina owning what used to be his amulets might be a hindrance to him. He said he “got them from a noble” he did a favor for, so... it’s possible Xellos got them from Shabranigdo himself, seeing that Xellos said they combine the power of all five dark lords under Shabranigdo. |
| And there it is, Xellos is a Demon/Monster serving under one of Shabranigdo's five underlings, Hellmaster Phibrizzo. He must be powerful too, even Demon Dragon King Gaav acknowledges Xellos's strength. I expected that "himetsu" from Xellos before he teleported away. Lina and Xelgadis's Dynast Bras attack spells are different from each other, is this from the difference in caster's field/affinity/affiliation? Alas she was merely an illusion of a memory of the fallen Water Dragon King but she had such power for an illusion. I mourn the loss of the complete copy of the Claire Bible for the Slayers universe. TT_TT Love it when Goury surprises even his long time companions!  |

| I have to say these action-packed episodes are either hit or miss for me. This one was rather a miss, because all it did was show how strong Gaav is. |
