| Quite interesting to say the least. The animation was very exaggerrated. Made it kinda funny. Never the less, I really enjoyed it, and am very much looking forward to the finale. |

| I just saw the penultimate episode of the series and it was quite suspenseful and left me rather speachless. It's finally good to see the police going somewhere in their investigation. Although I was a tad concerned that the police was so willingly hand over incriminating evidence to anyone outside the force (i.e, the chipped nail polish to Hani Satoru in the taxi). So, the murderer is Hani Meijin – I wonder what his motive was to kill Shion's parents – hopefully this would be revealed in the next episode. My favourite scene was near the end, where Shion ripped off the necklace she though her mother gave her and put on the star necklace that Saitou Aymui gave her. Was it me or was the animation inconsistent? It seems like every flashback sequence they used a different type of animation and there was a short sequence where it seems like the animation was through the shougi board's perspective. In any case, I can't wait to see the final episode of the series; hopefully it won't be too much of a wait. |

| GONZO usually insert some flashy, crappy CG animation. Ah, but Studio DEEN...how I love their limited budget and different approach to animation. All the different camera angles and poses were quite experimental, and while some were quite messy, some looked outstanding. I'm a bit relieved that the animation for this episode wasn't too criticized from you guys... And then the episode content itself...the end of that episode was beyond awesome. |

| Do the observers not hear Makoto mentioning all this stuff? Well, it's unfortunate, but Makoto's motivation is underwhelming. He's lucky Shion is half as skilled as she is, considering she could've just as easily been so traumatized by Shogi that she'd never touch a game piece again. I'm also not entirely sure how Makoto saying a couple of phrases to Shion caused her playstyle to evolve similarly to his? It just seems like it would've been less roundabout to take her under his wing himself rather than kill her parents and hope for the best. Anyway, I was hoping Shion would break her silence at this point, but maybe she'll say something to Makoto at the end of the match? |

| Some crazy animation techniques in this episode. Ashhk said: It's difficult to overstate how much of a shogi fanatic Makoto is.
