I wonder if he'll ever use a different attack.

I'd say they did their research for animating Manila. They got the jeeps and the slums. Though the tribal outfits at the preview? Even now that's getting rare to see. That means they're going in a very secluded area. Wonder where.
As for episode it was good. Blade's life was pretty harsh.
Action and music was good though I want to see other moves from Blade. Or at least pull out some guns.
And wow a Manananggal next time. Looking forward to it.

I love that move Blade does because he always gets in killed in some awesome way, but it's his afterimage and his real body kills the enemy,

The flashback was pretty neat, I didn't know that Blade was raised by British prostitutes after his mom 'died'. Maybe it was mentioned in passing in the movies but if so I missed it. Also the bit about him killing his own vampire mother, and it being his first kill.

The fight at the end was somewhat enjoyable, with Blade actually getting knocked around a bit, before he did his only move and one-shotted the harpy. I do hope he just hasn't needed to go past the First Blade so far and he does have other attacks, should someone see through his genjutsu. So far every fight ends the same way. Once you start seeing him spinning his sword in that glowing circle, the vampires' gonna kill him in some epic way, then get cut in half while it gawks at the fading illusion of his remains. At least they're re-drawing it each time, and not just using recycled footage.

awesome episode.

-blade backstory was awesome and touching,
- really acxurate ph setting in the present.
-loving anime-original girl. Has character is useful, not mary sue.

if someone asked me two months ago on what will be dark, awesome anime about vampire hunters, i would have said bloodc, but blade has gotten leagues better than anything else this crappy season.

Action is a little better in this one. But the story still is far from being exciting.

And you do know that Mariko Yashida has been in the wolverine comic books since the very start 30 years ago? As well as her grandfather, Shingen, who just happens to be the father of wolverine's comic book nemesis, Silver Samurai.

Exactly, people making false presumptions just to make criticism. For the most part, Madhouse has done their homework as far as the canon value of these 4 anime series.

I like this anime, I wasn't very familiar with Blade, other than him being a hybrid and a hunter, until I watch this. But I really am wondering if he will use another move anytime soon. before I thought that in every episode he would use a different Deadly Sword Technique, but wasn't expecting the same one each time.

So he only has one finisher? He's no Kenshin.
