| I've only seen some in dubs Dutch when I was a little kid. Since I've kinda ''grown up'' with those series I think that the dubs are really good, so I probably won't get used to Japanese voices. Examples: Sailor Moon, Digimon, Card Captor Sakura, Yugi-Oh, Pokémon... well, the stuff that can get into The Netherlands, I didn't realise that they where anime back then. We also had Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball in English (with Dutch subs). For dubs that I watched when I was aware of the fact that I was watching a dub, are Super GALS! and Fruits Basket. For Super GALS!, it's probably one of the best dubs I've ever seen, I liked it just as much as the Japanese version (don't kill me!). And for Fruits Basket, I think it was okay, I only watched it because I couldn't find the subs. I won't watch more dubs, period. The original is always better (for almost everything). So no, I won't watch dubs even though that means that I can't watch it. |
| I sometimes have been mentally forced to stop watching an Anime because of a horrible dub. A number of times I've been watching the first couple of episodes in dub and after that I can't switch it over to Japanese. |
| I'd search and search ... and search. Eventually I'll just give up. If it's something I really want to watch, though, I'll just go with dubs (MY EARS ;_;). |
| If only watch the anime if the subbed version is on the comp, if not I would wait until it comes up. I make small exceptions like for Haruhi because to me, that was a good dub, but other than that, I wouldn't watch the dub. |

| When I watched dubs, I was a poor lost soul who was too young to realize the horror. Now, I watch subs only. I mean, there are exceptions, like Kaleido Star. I watch anime through streaming websites, and I was watching Kaleido Star through Veoh at the time. Some episodes could only be found in the dub, and let me tell you it was torture watching through them. *good news* I'm actually slowly learning Japanese through anime, and lately I find that I can actually understand raws up to a certain point. Yay! My family was watching Howl's Moving Castle, but my mom can't take subs(It's too much work for her apparently...she's not a fast reader ^_^;; ) so were going to watch it in the dub. I even heard that the one who was in charge of the dub hated dubs too, and therefore tried to make it as original as possible. After five minutes, I had to leave the room cause I couldn't take it. |

| I agree that dubs are a necessary evil. It helps build up the anime fanbase and introduces newbies to the world of anime. Other than that, death to dubs!!! I only watch subs now. The only dub I would watch are Pokemon Indigo and the 1st Pokemon Movie because I grew up on it. There is a certain nostalgia to it that the original cannot provide. The Japanese version of the movie didn't make me cry but the dubs do it everytime. Probably because of an insert song that wasn't there in the original... ^^ I only watch dubs if it's that's the only option. And I mean ONLY option. Original Japanese audio ALWAYS exists (and is easily found) unless the creators INTENDED for it to be in English. Like Afro Samurai and Cat Blue Dynamite. Then there is no choice. Afro was good though, thank god. |

They didn't provide english dubs either, so I was shit out of luck. the only dub i have ever ever watched was DBZ, and i was 12-13 at the time and didn't know how much it actually sucked until I watched the subbed version 2-3 years after.I still remember how they'd add lines to the episodes just to make the people who watch think the people that actually died didn't just die. Apparently thousands of people can evacuate a city in less than 10 seconds and all survive the explosion. No dub EVER AGAIN. Even if it means skipping the series altogether. |

| With me it's similar. I watched once, Tekken The Motion Picture, and because is quite old, the only version I found was with english sounds. I am big fan of Tekken but, that was horrible. After that I said to myself - never again. :) But recently I have seen anime adaptation of Highlander (English sound + Polish subs) I have to say it wasn't that bad. Even so, I'll rather stay with Japanese sound + ENG/PL subs - it's just better. |

| No matter how badly I'd want to watch some new anime, if it was only Dubbed, I would NOT watch it. If I were desperate enough, I'd watch it without sound and try to guess what's happening based on the images. But the biggest joy in watching anime is listening to the characters brought to life by the genius of the Japanese voice actors. And people who don't get that (i.e. watch it dubbed) aren't real anime fans. That's right, I said it! >_< |
| I had to watch 2 Eps of Fruits Basket with English FanDub >_> It was horrible!! So now, when I can't find a subbed version, I watch without Subs... I don't understand everything they say (otherwise there would be no need for subs ^^) but it's still better than dubbed! |

| Lies! Dubs have plenty of emotion in their voice. But the emotions are obviously staged and sound completely fake/exaggerated. English voice actors need to sound more natural and their voices need to sound more like what the character's voice would sound like. Nicer scripts need to be made so that the mouth movements match. It might be the same for japanese voices, and that we only prefer japanese voices because we don't really know how it sounds in reality. Still, good english dubs are harder to make. Despite that, english dubbers still put in less effort/preparation (judging by the exchange between yui makino and Tom Wayland/Veronica Taylor on ANN) edit: lol wtf, it wasn't vic mignogna, what was i smoking |

| Well generally if I cannot find English or French subs, I won't watch the series at all, and will find a different one instead rather than watch it dubbed ^_^ Sadly, I don't know enough Japanese to watch raws yet, though I'm working on it. |
| I watch subs whenever possible, but if it's only available in dubs, and it's a MUST watch anime, i'll complain a little and then watch it. Hopefully the dubs will be good. If they're intolerable, i'll cry, and either dump it, or try and suck it up until the end. =) But if it's intolerable, before I dump it or suck it up, i'll start a HUGE research session or whatever to find subs. If it doesn't work, then i'll use the above solution. =p |

| I will not under and circumstances watch a show in Dub. I have tried, and it made me want to cry just hearing how awful it was for different shows! I think if it's made in japanese then it should stay that way! |
| I'd rather watch anime with no subtitles in Japanese than with dubs, no question about it. Shouldn't that go for everyone who is part of the 'I only watch subtitled anime' club? Personally i'd rather not have to have the subs either, but my Japanese isn't good enough for that hurdle yet... |
| Well I can now understand Japanese from watching anime so I could just watch it raw instead of having to watch it dubbed if by some chance I can't find subbed. I do admit that early in my anime watching career and another time a couple weeks ago I had to watch one dubbed episode in the middle of an anime because I couldn't find that episode. I don't hate dubs, but I find subs superior therefore I avoid dubs all that I can. There have been a couple anime that I could only find them dubbed, so I just didn't watch them, I would rather get the most full experience I could. But if someone in my family wants to watch anime, I probably would have them watched it dubbed, because a lot of people get turned off by bing told that they have to watch subbed. And we all started out watching dubbed and eventually moved onto subbed. |

| Fortunately I now understand enough Japanese not to even need subs but I still tend to watch subbed stuff out of sheer laziness. But I'm happily plodding through Majokko Megu-chan's RAWs since it was never subbed. I cannot stand dubs of any kind. I grew up with Portuguese dubs and boy are they godawful. If you guys think that English language dubs are bad then you shouls check out the Portuguese and Spanish ones. You do not even need to understand a word to realize how horrible they are. Now that takes talent. |
