 Its that time again! Anime North will be taking place at the usual Metro Convention Centre up near the airport this year during Friday, May 27 - Sunday, May 29, 2011. If you have been to Anorth before, I know... you're excited. If you havent gone before, you should go. Its basically the best Anime Con in Canada, or Ontario at least. Taking place in the MCC and surrounding hotels, cosplay everywhere, tons of local artists, a giant merchandise room, anime viewings, panels/discussions, video game rooms, celebrity appearances, lots and lots of fun stuff happening for 3 days straight! And let me remind everyone that this is JUST anime stuff. Perfect for my fellow Japanophiles here. And registration has opened, I didnt even notice until a member contacted me. I'm going to try to organize group rate again. Thus I need at least 10 people in the pool to get the weekend badge for 40 dollars, and I need to send in the cheque by Mid March. The 40 dollar discount rate is if the money goes to them before March 18th. So the deadline to request to be added will be FRIDAY, MARCH 11th, 2011. If I know you IRL or if we've arranged this before (ie. I can trust you) you can pay me at the door. As I will be paying a large cheque from my own pocket. If not I would prefer payment before I order your ticket. | Just an update. I now have exactly 10 confirmed on my list. That is the minimum number of people required for the group discount, so I will be closing pre-reg group pretty soon. Theres not much reason to add more onto my list. Although I did say March 11th would be when I am accepting people, I will be closing this group offer on March 4th instead, unless I recieve additional interest (you have to pm me). I've decided something much simpler. If you pay me before I send out the cheque I will put your email onto the list (so you recieve the ticket through email and can show up to ANorth anytime you want without having to meet up with me) If you do not pay me before I send the cheque out, I will use my email as the group leader and hold onto your ticket until we can exchange at the con (I will be printing out the ticket). Your name will still be on the ticket. Keep in mind that a weekend pass at the door is 55 dollars, and just saturday alone is 40 dollars at the door. So the amount for a weekend pass is just 40 dollars for 3 days with the group rate discount. It is basically the cheapest for the con, unless you are a volunteer... So basically, last call for tickets at the end of next week! |

"ATTENTION: Provincial Tories at the Toronto Congress Center The Ontario Provincial Conservative party will be having a conference at the Toronto Congress Center on the same weekend as Anime North. They will be in the North building, which is completely separate from the South building where Anime North is. They even have separate parking lots. There is not expected to be any problems with these events going on concurrently. There has been posting on some boards suggesting that our attendees should try to "troll" the tories or otherwise make a nuisance of themselves. Any kind of harassment by the members of one event on the members of another is grounds for Congress Center security to kick you off of their property, and Anime North would regard that as grounds to confiscate your badge as well. Let them have their convention and we’ll have ours." |

| For those of you going to the AnimeNorth convention this weekend, it might be a good idea to look over the schedule as the con is really fast paced and hectic.
