| Wow back in Sabaody, Kid and Law had trouble fighting off one Pacifista and they were formidable rookies.. now a fuckload of em showed up. Wonder how this is gonna go, especially with Squard's betrayal now in the mix |

| So, some people questioned why not just kill Ace? I'd be lying if I said I completely understood it so I decided to hold off judgement. Now it's clear, as the world government holds Ace they have complete control of the battle, they can choose to force Whitebeard's hand whenever they want to. I also found it problematic that Whitebeard didn't just go down to fight the Pacifista's, I thought to myself, couldn't he jump down there and probably murder a ton of those things? Likewise, we only saw comparatively weak soldiers facing the Pacifistas and it took Luffy's entire crew to take one down, so it's fair to say the no names won't be putting a dent in them. However, as Whitebeard said, it's fine that Sengoku is attacking from behind. Whitebeard avoided being trapped and he believes, in my understanding, this is necessary and by no means can they fall backwards, they must continue forward to save Ace. There's also the fact that he is the commander and without him being ready to counter Sengoku's strategies they would be done, despite his strength, he cannot lose focus here. So, I think all of that tied together quite well! Now, the next step of the plan is to get rid of all of the cameras and execute Ace from what I gathered here. But luckily, the legendary captain Buggy is being the opportunist he always is and is streaming to the world a message to make him seem as though he is the king of Pirates I bet. To get the word out! Hahahaha. I love how stupid his plan seems already, all he could say was, "it is me, Buggy!". An implicit fact was made explicit this time. I picked up on it myself when Kizaru said to keep the sacrifice of their men to a minimum however Squard made it explicit with his statement that Whitebeard will not give up on his family, and that's why so many can risk their lives for him too. The world government believes the ends justify the means and if it they think the result will be just, or perhaps more likely if the result will maintain their power while being rationalized as justice, they can do anything, even sacrifice their own. This is the antithesis of Whitebeard's crew. His crew is his family and he is willing to risk everything for a single son of his. There is a point of criticism one may give Whitebeard, the point that he will sacrifice hundreds for one. However, if it is how it seems and everyone fights with him by choice, just look at Jimbei, and for their friend and family Ace, like Whitebeard's crew and Oars, then I don't think this is valid! We did see how Whitebeard felt at the loss of Oars. Since I have a group of smaller things to note I'll end them all in this paragraph. Firstly, Seeing the Pacifista's massacre the crowds of pirates and navy was pretty genuinely frightening. The way they move together is just intimidating and then all of them drone and charge their weapons at the same time, it's like, jeez... Secondly, Kizaru has confronted Luffy once more, this should be difficult, the only people we've seen put up a fight with him are Marco and Rayleigh... Thirdly, the art and animation this episode was notably bad which is notable because of how great it temporarily was! And lastly, my opinion may change but I feel like we should have gotten more of a focus on Squard, the twist at the end of the episode was obvious but more importantly it didn't affect me at all. |
| The most shocking part of this episode wasn't the Pacifistas, Mihawk being in a stalemate, nor Squard's betrayal but rather Whitebeard actually taking that hit. I can't tell if he knew that something like that's going to happen but he's definitely the type to see things like these coming. It's probably because of how much he values his family that he trusted them to not do shit like that... At least Buggy hijacking their broadcast gave me a lot of laughs. |

Oh Squard you fool, it annoyed me how Sengoku got Whitebeard that way but oh well. Buggy is an absolute moron/genius as usual, he's totally the Mr. Satan of One Piece.

It's a good thing they keep to the 1:1 ratio of One Piece Anime vs One Piece Manga, else they'd end up like Naruto did, with 4 chapters bundled up in a 1 hour special, and then another one hour special a week after, and they caught up to the manga, which meant 32 weeks of pure-filler episodes. Besides, it might be junk, some of it, and some parts are definitely fillers, in order to actually fill up a chapter in a 20-minute episode (it takes me about 3-5 minutes to read through a chapter), but it's definitely not random. When I think about it, it's definitely not junk either, unless you're saying the whole One Piece universe is a big load of pure random junk, in which case I don't know why you follow One Piece to begin with.
Just in case this was a trolling attempt, I definitely fell for it. If it wasn't...well...I feel sorry for ya.

I'll have to disagree somewhat. Buggy is way luckier, where Mr.Satan had to be saved all the time. Mr. Satan also never ate any bara-bara fruit :p

| Honestly, I'd rather have well paced canon episodes and more great fillers to flesh out the world, manga cover pages, the drama going on for the other straw hat pirates, etc. I'm fine with one episode / one manga chapter but only if it's done really well and not in a lazy way that's just a bunch of long reaction shots. |

They need some reinforcements badly. Why I keep thinking dragon will show up. Finally whitebeard getting stabbed. He seemed okay, even though everyone looked shocked. One thing I do wish is we had more time with him. All his division leaders blend together. The snake guy. Idk if it’s a true betrayal or he brain controlled. Somehow I think it’s a true betrayal, but it doesn’t hit hard since I don’t know this character |
