Miyo and Kiyo has an unique relationship in this show. She even asks him trust her. I also admire her courage here since she took active steps to help her friends and Kiyota rather than stay behind the scenes.

And she did manage to reach Kiyota after all! Another emotional epiosde especially with their reunion. Kiyo deserves some credit this episode, without his help, this wouldn't of been possible. One more episode left and I hope they put Usui in his place.

Miyo with her abilities fully awakened is such a sight to see. Her entire demeanor has completely changed. She’s more poised, confident and even her face looks more mature now. I am so beyond proud of her and I wish her mother could see the challenges she’s overcome and what her daughter has become!

I love how both Kiyo and Miyo played 4D chess with this whole thing. Kiyo putting his dad and unit in position to support Miyo with the expectation that she would try to come save him and Miyo trusting that Kiyo would be aiding her from behind the jail cell. Even when their backs are against the wall they have full faith in one another!

Kiyoka’s mom doing Miyo’s hair up and giving her the ribbon was such a sweet moment too. She redeemed herself from how much of an asshole she was earlier. She finally fully accepted Miyo!

“Mother I’m off” ๐Ÿ˜ญ with that OST ahhh such a great scene. Miyo looks like a totally different person now! Also loved the reunion scene with Kiyoka and Miyo finally saying she loved him and wanted to be with him forever!! They’re so freaking cute. Arata dumbass just made them stronger and brought them closer while ruining any chance he had of ever being closer with Miyo lol. Bravo. You can tell he still kinda regrets and isn’t sure about this plan, but too late now buddy.

Next week, the big showdown! I do hope Usui is able to be redeemed a bit because I do empathise with his backstory. He had everything taken from him and no control over anything in life really.

P.S education secretary getting burned up was funny af too

How easy it is to convince people that those with power must be evil. Im glad that Godo and his men are fine. If anything Usui was on no one's side but his own it seems. Its nice that Miyo managed to convince the mother of her sincerity. The blossom of the sakura tree sure was quite the send off for Miyo's mission. Miyo's new ability sure was impressive. Though i can see why she's reluctant to use them. Damm Kudo's save really was timely. Now to see how the final battle would turn out.

I am very proud of Miyo. That little girl who was hurt by her stepmother, stepsister and rejected by her father endured all that and more to grow into a confident woman, next to the one who loves her. He was her balm, and now all her efforts have been rewarded.

Now that she has awakened her dream powers, I hope the final episode doesn't turn into a redemption arc for Usui. I want that guy to pay, just like Arata.

Remember when I said before that a happy Miyo would make your week even better?

Now, she has the following two episodes to beat the F out of Usuba and Usui... Nicely, of course. We got a little glance at what's coming from her and it was awesome!

Excellent construction episode, thanks to Miyo and Kiyo; it is reasonable to expect an intense next one!

@LadyAlexa02 , Miyo and Kiyoka are not the ones they were. I would not expect redemption coming to Arata -- the planting may be uncertain, but the harvest always is certain.

Comparing to what she was like at the beginning of this series, Miyo's character growth has been very evident and I'm happy for her. With her powers fully awoken, she's showing her confidence with her actions and decisions. Even Kiyoka's mother compliments this and they shared a nice wholesome scene together when she combed Miyo's hair while adding a cute ribbon as well. =)

Thanks to the help from Goto and the other soldiers, Miyo and little Kiyo got into the Gifted Communion base. They did have a close run-in with a monster, but with the thing holding back the ability user's powers now destroyed, Kiyoka was able to break out of his cell and take down the monster before it could hurt Miyo. Their reunion was amazing as they were able to fully confess their love for each other.

Now all that remains is a showdown against Naoshi and Arata. This will be a difficult battle, but it is one I'm hoping Miyo and Kiyoka can win.

Miyo just being able to use her power when needed is atrocious writing We had an entire season for her to learn and be taught how her power works and we got none of that. Instead, she's shown to be a savant with mastery of her skill when the time is right. I like the romance but the supernatural abilities in this series leave a lot to be desired. The author definitely has room to grow in that regard and I hope that they do if/when we get a third season. Kiyo had a touching moment with the mother, I hope that Kiyoka could feel that warm moment through Kiyo the way he did sleeping next to Miyo. Overall, this was just another alright episode. This season isn't as strong as the first season with Miyo regressing and then being gifted her awakened abilities rather than having to work to train and hone her skills.

With the way things are going, it looks like we'll reach LN7 in Episode 13 and therefore no third season anytime soon.

Did anyone notice the subtle change in Miyo's voice quality? We are witnessing someone who is no longer weak but has a strong resolve, and this is why the episodes covering LN6 are my favourite this season.

Some changes from the light novel:

Miyo went to her would-be in-laws to ask for help. She wanted to ask Kiyoka's father to ask his gifted friends and acquaintances to help. Just going there seems pointless.

Re: Fuyu

When I was reading it, she was a bit rude but not quite as rude compared to when she was in the villa.

The anime made her really sweet that perhaps those anime-only watchers who had wished to no longer see her would have forgotten that this lady appeared to be reprehensible during the first three episodes of the season.

I'm excited for Episode 12 because it's going to be epic.

ETA: FOR ALL THE HATERS OF THE SUPERNATURAL ELEMENTS, I sure hope you are eating your words right now with this episode. Miyo is the most beautiful swan.

Awakened Miyo's potential is even higher than I expected it to be. She dealt with those two enemies really swiftly. Even before, it was amazing how accurate, compared to actual events, were all scenes appearing in her dream. Truly, her ability is superb.

Yay, Kiyoka has been saved. It also means that Kiyo's mission is over, so he had to disappear. Too bad. I liked him. He was funny, especially in this episode.

While there's a battle outside of the building, Miyo and recently freed Kiyoka will have to face Usui and Arata. I can't wait for the next episode's clash. Will it be a dynamic one, full of action, or perhaps slower, more concentrated on mind games? We will see.

What a great cliff hanger for episode 11!!! I can't believe there's only 2 episodes left!! Hope they are able to pack everything in. I waited for the release of as many episodes of the second season as possible before I rebinged the first season and binge the second season in one go! Genuinely enjoy this anime very much as I'm a softy for simple romance dramas.

Reflecting on both seasons though (since I rebinged everything), there are some aspects of both season that just do not make sense - especially the causes of some of the conflict. For example, in the beginning, if the Tatsuishi wanted Usaba lineage so badly (despite Miyo not showing signs of power), why did they not propose an arranged marriage between Miyo and Kouji to begin with since it is known by the characters that Kouji likes Miyo and Miyo is fond of Kouji since he is the only one nice to her? Or establish some sort of arranged marriage between Samui and Tatsuishi for Miyo to begin with since Samui doesn't even care? It's customary to marry off the elders first anyway. Maybe I need to read the manga to find out more about some of these back stories...

On Usuba, I get Arata's self-conflict and feeling of lost because his job since he was young was to prepare himself to serve and protect the one with Dream Sight. But why didn't the Usuba take Miyo from the Samui household when Miyo's mom died? Yes they didn't know she doesn't have powers at the time but given how strict the Usuba family rules are about "leaking" Usuba lineage out of the family (e.g. they can't even make friends with non-Usuba), and given that Miyo's mom already passed and Miyo is the only one with Usuba blood "outside" of Usuba family, why would they not have contacted Samui and taken Miyo and raised her themselves? This is especially strange when the Usuba family also seems to know that the Samui household is mistreating her. Again, maybe I need to read the manga to find out more about some of these back stories...Also, is the Usuba such a big family population that allows them to only and always inter-marry between cousins? Doesn't really make sense there.

Finally, it was strange to me that Miyo did not seem to actively learn more about her Dream Sight abilities until much later when she went to look for her grandfather. She just mostly relied on Arata whenever he is around and seemed more focused on learning about how to be a lady in the earlier episodes. I guess it has to do with her self-confidence aspect. So I'm glad to see that Miyo is finally gaining some self-confidence with her abilities fully realized.

Anyway, putting these questions aside, really enjoyed it and really appreciate the second season!

Lol, only two episodes of screentime and smol Kiyoka ended up being more endearing than his adult self.

But seriously, Miyo unlocks a super OP ability in less than five minutes that practically makes everything easier for her and people call it "character development"? Come on...

@SouthRzVa LOL love smol Kiyoka! so cute! Totally agree with you on Miyo's development. It's kind of irritating actually especially since immediately after she got her full powers, she suddenly became a whole different character that is more confident and has high self-esteem etc...

@SouthRzVa It's actually days of perusing the journals in the light novels. This is the flaw of the anime.

It's Saimori, not Samui. Anyway, I can see two reasons. 1) The Kudou family has a higher priority than the Tatsuishi family. 2) Even if he had a verbal agreement with Mr Tatsuishi, Shin-ichi simply does not want to see Miyo ever again. He hates her because she is a reminder of the arranged marriage with Sumi he was forced to be into.

Also, note that Kouji is the younger Tatsuishi, so it won't be Miyo-Kouji anyway.

They are under the tight leash of the Emperor so even if they wanted to, they couldn't.

As for intermarrying, this is not mentioned IIRC in the anime but mentioned in the light novels. The purer your Usuba blood is, the more powerful is your gift.

In between Episode 13 OVA and season 2, she had one-on-one lessons with Arata, which is why it seemed that she was not trying but she did. But back then, the stakes are low.

After Episode 9, the stakes are so high that she had to unlock it, by necessity and because of her strong feelings, which is the key ingredient of unlocking it.

And by the way, I remember reading the novels, and it took her days or at least multiple frustrating readings of the Dream-Sight journals before she had the dream.

This is the negative of the anime. The screen time was only 5 minutes and made it look so convenient.

On the other hand, the imagery was beautiful. They made it explicit that she was able to unlock her ability.

Actually, it was not explicit that she was able to unlock it, and I only knew it because Miyo was told so after the battle with Usui. When I re-read that portion of the light novel, oh yeah, she might have unlocked it, but it was not explicit.

Nobody's stopping her from going the whole mile, that much is apparent. But hey, she got the people who would come help her along. They wouldn't just let her go off on her own without something.

And since the break out plan actually worked, think that's a W for then. They were lucky that they had enough on their side to escape. Altho now they're face to face with big bad.

I'm sure they're going to throw the weirdest reasoning ever to redeem Arata, maybe next episode or the last one. Not that anyone would buy that.

Miyo can use her powers and I think that is for good, given how we spent almost two seasons over her agonizing the fact she wasn't able to.

Kiyoka not expecting Arata to betray Miyo is definitely the biggest mistake he did to naively think that she will be fine with his protection. It's just all for family values and pride.

With the Gifted Communion fully invading the Imperial Empire, Miyo has no choice but to depend on her memories and travel the road less travelled to find Godo, which thankfully he's alright. The conviction of the awakened Maiden prompting Kazushi to be her bodyguard (while Godo stays behind as acting Commander), and seek out Kiyoka's parents for reassurance and their help. Even Kiyoka's mother, who once bereaved her of being the fiancée who can't do anything for her son, now does her subservience to the fiancée knowing well that she'll bring herself and her son back safe. Even passing the message onto her family of her pending wedding after all of this is over, Miyo has grown tremendously.

With conflict inevitable, Miyo leads the charge with Kiyo and Kazushi with her Dream-Sight, going into unforeseen areas to try and stop the Gifted Communion, with the dispelling of its barrier first so that Kiyoka can use his abilities to save his fiancée in time. And what a reunion it is between the couple, even finally getting their feelings across, clear and concise.

With Godo and Kazushi getting the support from Kiyoka's parents externally, internally, it's time to finally face off against Naoshi Usui.
