Lol Kogoro's sleeping position made him nearly fell into the well.

Love the angles for this episode.

This episode was a wild ride from beginning to end. Then again, Urasawa strikes again with another one of his surreal plots.

Wasn't expecting for them to go so hard with the animation and expressions for an anime original. Whoever was on this episode need to come back more often but keep it closer to Detective Conan's style. Felt like I was watching a different show at some points.

The thief trio reminded me of some antics that Lupin would pull.

Expecting for Kogoro to end up falling in the well at the end but the note on his face was funny.

On another note, the VA (Kanae Itou if anyone's curious) for the shrine maiden was great.

Notice: I read most manga in Japanese now so I'm not sure where you can read in English. Sorry in advance.

This was one of the best filler episodes in recent times, with zero complaints at all and everything executed perfectly, from the case itself to the characters.

There was some really terrible animation in this episode, for a minute, I thought I was watching Crayon Shin-Chan

Did a new team/director work in this episode? It looked really interesting from the animation style to the camera angles. Almost looked like a different show. I am not complaining though.

This is pure comedic gold, felt like I was watching some Jojo-inspired fever dream. Holy shit this is like a new standard for fillers, and proves fillers can still be great. What an awesome episode!

Very interesting episode. Not sure if it was a guest director or what, but the tone was super different. I know Conan gets the occasional genre shift episode, but this felt even weirder than most of the other times. The episode simultaneously felt like it had a higher and lower budget. Way more extreme poses but admittedly choppier animation.
I kind of like it honestly, despite how different it is, I think it'd just take some adjusting. I liked the art style of the characters; they look more appealing IMO Conan was looking pretty ugly for a while, but I think he looked fairly cute here. Not sure if this style was done purely for the one-off, but I wouldn't really mind if Conan shifted more into this. I think it was about time they got a bit more stylized and switched it up.

Also Genki is way more annoying than I remember, I don't remember him being that overdramatic in the first Detective Taxi episode.

I enjoyed this episode tremendously! Not only did it feel like a proper story, it was fun and original.

Although the animation was lacking in some parts, I thought the directing was pretty inspired and dynamic!

@AhmedJafar1 This episode was written by Yoshio Urasawa, who writes all of the surrealist episodes of the show (like the one with the ladies at the old folks' home, or the one at the genius restaurant).

Ah the kachidoki bridge holds many memorable nostalgic moments in anime.

This bridge used to open up in kochikame when ryoutsu was a kid,he opened it again in junior high to give his friends a farewell memory to his friend, destroying every vehicle on the bridge.
This marks his first encounter with his future boss.
This bridge also appeared in City Hunter and get backers .

So this episode felt like a fever induced dream, only good thing about it was the bridge and Kogoro almost falling into the well.

Next week's episode looks like it will be part of the mystery tour series

Was this filler? Art animation style was a lot more slap-stick in tonal shift. I hope it was a one off from a guest episode director.

I don't renumber Genki the taxi driver...probably because I find him super annoying AF with his immaturity pretending to be a detective/cop. His mannerisms make me think he was gay initially, but that wouldn't explain his fawning over the beautiful woman.
