What’s up with these newgens telling us not to rate the show high and trash talking it for no reason?

| It's always incredible to me how internet folks (not to say Americans especifically) like to blame literally everything on either the previous or next "generation", despite these concepts being completely made up and arbitrary. People from countries that don't divide people into "generations" almost never make these kinds of complaints, which goes to show that it's mostly BS fueled by some type of tribal mentality. Regarding the show, as someone who only had a vague idea about what it was about and hadn't seen any trailers or internet comments prior to watching it, it was pretty underwhelming. That was not the level of quality I've come to expect from an anime in 2025, let alone a popular SJ title. Some here are saying that people's standard have gotten too high because of JJK, CSM etc, but this show looks bad even when compared to old action shows or many romance/sol we have these days. That is hard to defend. |

| Well, as a longtime reader of the manga, I'd say this is a pretty mid anime to the point than I might just not care watching it if it wasn't because I'm watching it together with a friend who hasn't read the manga (and he likes it, but also comments it's way below Dandadan) |

@Zarutaku Does this really even qualify as a power fantasy? It turns into a battle manga after like 100 chapters but at this point its just a gag manga where the title character has to chase off dumbass assassins.

Solo leveling is quite a solid show. But for me, apart from the action, there is nothing that interests me. I don’t like he mc, the side characters, the story, but that’s just me. I’m assuming you haven’t read the Sakamoto Days manga, which is absolute fire btw. You should definitely read it it the anime didn’t satisfy you, I find it miles better than solo leveling. |

| Can't really place full blame on them, unfortunately most of gen-alpha hasn't exactly had the best role models, best we can do is hope that as they mature they observe what decent human behaviour looks like, maybe even thru anime, and learn how to behave in a social setting for themselve I had a shit upbringing, my folks taught me nothing about how to be a functioning adult and tried to isolate me from any sane adult relitives who were in my life, but i watched a shitton of good TV, including a lot of anime, and learnt all my essential life skills from there, it's not perfect, but it's sure better than the cards that got handed to me |

| @AnotherGuy I wouldn't say the concept is complete BS Afterall there are certain behavioural traits that are more common with different generations, now sure things can differ from country to country with different cultures involved, but even though the concept of "generations" is oversimplified a lot of times there's still some truth to it |

In my experience 7 out of 10 times when forced myself to watch half of the season or the whole season I had the exact same score that I will put in my mind and sometimes worse. I thought I was the only one like that but strangely enough I have a found a considerable amount of people who think like that. |

Because people can't separate the fact that amount of sakuga and quality of animation aren't the only defining aspects of whether an anime is good or not.
Sakamoto doesn't have incredible animation, but it's entertaining. The voice acting is really good, the music is really good, the story is enjoyable.
Next episode will be very interesting. Hoping they saved good animation for the next brawl.
