at first i dident even knew the jinchu arc existed to begin with. watching only the original series. then i've read the manga which i liked. i also saw the 2 live action movies that are about that arc (and prequal, which was good. but the jinchu live action was quite bad)

so you can tell i've really wanted this reboot to finally happen and i finally did. and yes, now we know that season 2 will be made. but i still fear the series will cancelled because of the amount of haters who want to see it fail and also because i heard the show wasent localized in most countries. i still hope that will not halt the creators of the show so we will get the complete product. if the show will be completed i bet not only me but alot of other people will buy it on blue ray.

Japan doesn't care much about how well received the shows are otherseas. What matters is how received it is in Japan.
I heard it was well received, but without being a hit, and as the 2nd Season was announced right at the end of the 1st, they'll most probably do the same for the 3rd.

It was at least successful enough to get the second season announced right after the first. And, from what I’ve heard of the series, the material after what this season covered is highly regarded. So as long as the second season doesn’t fall below the quality of the first, I doubt it’ll get cancelled.

Streaming has been consistently becoming a bigger part of the profits for an anime in general, so generally, yes, that would play a part.

i drop this remake because it lacks the jokes and sakuga of the old anime but if it becomes a complete anime adaptation of the manga i might consider picking it up again

and it depends on how much tv ratings it did in japan if you can know that then and it has good tv ratings there then high chance sequels will be made

also streaming profit will be the key too especially in japan streaming

There still is a huge amount of Animes which are not licensed in a lot of countries, including the US, so while it does play a part, i really don't think it's that much of an important factor for the industry. ANN did mentioned that Crunchyroll payed a lot of royalties for the rights, tho.

i like the fact that people dropped the remake/disliked it because it's actually authentic and drops the shitty jokes that wasn't in the manga

man, anime fans sure are clowns

Only the JP audience matters lol. The west doesn't have any power for shows besides Dragon Ball and Pokemon (not that they could affect those shows either and thank god for that).

Kenshin had 2 live action movies come out 3 years ago which were incredibly received and covered the Jinchu arc in its entirety.

Most of the numerous comedy that was in the Manga was removed too, tho.

That's a good opportunity to re-read the Manga, then.

The slight change of tone through the removal of most of the comedy, as well as making the expressions of the characters more serious is something assumed by the director. That was done to appeal to newer Animes fans, which prefer more serious stories, so it's even one of the main selling point of that Remake. We can imagine that it also was an attempt to make the tone more even through the entirety of the story, as it gets more serious with the Kyoto Arc, and more with the Jinchuu Arc.

I mean, didn't the original 1996 version get cancelled because of low TV ratings because of the filler episodes after episode 62? Meaning the 1996 version probably would've adapted the Jinchu arc if the TV ratings were good, but they weren't, so the show got cancelled. If the Kyoto arc in the second season of the 2023 version has a good amount of viewers, then the Jinchu arc will definitely be animated. Plus, the manga sold 72 million copies! So it's safe to say that it'll be a full adaptation.

I thought it did good enough to definitely get a second season. The characters look great in this modern era of kenshin compare to the old. They also had some good villians that made the story arcs feel more connected in the era that they are in now.I do miss some of the ORO moments from the 90s kenshin but this new kenshin seems more serious. Maybe that's just me. I never read the jinchu arc so I'm exited to what's to come.
