This is some very special training they're going through. Pretty intense and important.

Not going to lie but after seeing what the Mountain God is capable of, she is on a different level compared to other characters. She has great powers and someone to respect and fear based on what she's shown.

Yazen was way cooler than I thought. Lol.

The mountain god offered to help the group rescue Taizan from the Dangan Group's brainwashing. They suggested taking on one of the group's three main forces: Taizan, Jinun, or Kuzunoha. The mountain god then told a story from years ago about a man who, despite being born a merchant's son, gained spiritual strength after being noticed by a traveling monk. He joined the Dangaishu and fell in love with a youko named Kuzunoha during an expedition.

Together, they defeated their enemies, and the man, later known as Yazen, became the first bishop of the Dangaishu. Tama was shocked upon hearing Kuzunoha's name because that was her mother. Meanwhile, the top four beasts of the Dangan Group, led by Shinkumo and the boy Senya, were approaching. The mountain god advised Jinka, Tama, and Shinsuke to train and strengthen themselves. And so they all embarked on traning in order to become stronger.

Training arc starts now!

A lot of information in this episode, but I do wonder if this anime want me to take the story seriously or not.

I feel like we might meet Jinka's twin in the future, and high chance he's on the opposite side.

Ah so many information to digest and so many progress made in characters and story as well.

The most fun and structurally competent episode so far.

Seeing Shakugan in the OP hurts T_T
Oh, the fox from the OP!
Rinzu (綸子, though written as りんず in this case) is a Japanese silk satin damask. It was the preferred fabric for kimono in the Edo period.
About the leaf on tanuki's head: In the traditional art of Japan, the tanuki has a leaf on its forehead. The leaf symbolizes nature, which the tanuki gets its power from. You may see tanuki with a leaf on their heads a lot in anime, manga and stuff.
Training arc time! (tho a really short one)
This episode looked really good. Enjoyed it. Powered up Jinka ftw.

Wait, the fox woman in the OP is actually Tama's mom? Kind of had the feeling she could be related but damn. Also, the fact she hooked up with Yazen is pretty funny lol. But sucks for Tama.

We finally got more backstory about Jinka. I think I finally understand him now. He wants to be katawara but the reason why he wants to be one couldn't be more human. The question is, does he still want to be katawara after traveling with Tama, Shinsuke, and Shakugan?

Lmao. Rinzu's crush on Jinka is pretty cute. Hope nothing bad happens to her.

Bruh. Is Shinsuke really gonna fight that monstrosity in the next episode? That's gonna be interesting.

oh a 9tail fox, i love those lol
since that fox was Tama's mom, can we expect Tama to also get more tails?

the little tree girls sure look cute too

also funny how we had a naked tanuki girl (shoutout to another tanuki girl, Mameda, from fall2022) as well as crows trying to annoy the hell out of the dragon guy

interesting training methods
with mc just thinking about a cheat method of flying over the rock, that's too easy lmao
Tama trying her water walking skills but it cant be easy when you have someone else making you laugh or breathing in your ears
lastly Jinka (with an interesting backstory about having a twin that had a better life) also got an upgrade, with his fairy eyes showing him the mana(?) that every living thing has
also Jinka has a fan, that girl literally confessed her first sight love right away but was also easily turned off for being a human

The lore drops in this ep, wow! So Yazen and Tama’s mom had a fling? Bro was so in love at first sight he was willing to kill his entire squad after all that training lmao.

After how everyone been getting their ass beat in the last few fights it’s definitely time for a little training arc. It’s not just their physical strength that needs trained though, there’s some mental deficiencies with the entire cast, whether it’s Jinka not accepting that the reason he’s been so hurt by all these deaths is because he was happy and cared for these people, or Shinsuke not thinking outside the box, etc. I wonder what Tama’s weakness will be exposed as?

Shinsuke landing on senya with the sword on his neck is probably not gonna go down so well lol.. this’ll be a fun next episode.

Still missing Shakugan 😢

We explore Jinka's past and discover another layer of why he outwardly hates humans. It stems from his own unfortunate circumstances that led to a life outside of the human civilisation. He was just chosen to suffer for no other reason than being born a twin with fairy eyes.

It's also great to see a training arc with so many creative ideas. None of them are truly about fighting. Jinka got stronger because he accepted his humanity. Tama's trying to improve her focus. Finally, Shinsuke being the quickest to realise that he was confined only by his own limits to imagination.

Truly a shame that a great story like this is constantly being downvoted by haters on myanimelist.

Really getting into the curve of things, this anime has gotten better and better with every episode.

Almost dropped it, but glad I didn't. I love series where characters slowly develop and gain strength

So much good stuff in this.

So now the training arc with the mountain goddess beings and surprisingly Shinsuke was the first one to complete it. Now Shinsuke is faced with an opportunity to take out one of the enemy katawara enhanced human in Senya.

I don't know, this was a huge infodump but it felt flat to me. Why does this katawara know everything they need to know? It felt very convenient to me plus with magic time breaking training arc.

Well a lot more information to digest, but that’s never a bad thing. Seems like everyone is getting training and we may possibly meet Jinka’s twin sooner rather than later. Looking forward to future episodes.

What a cliffhanger! 😑
But dang, Rinzu's reaction upon seeing Jinka the first time was exactly the first expression I had of him lol! Jinka is really handsome for me tbh, I can totally relate with her! 😆

Horny adult tanuki exposing themselfs at a 10 year old is not what I expected from a training arc. Love the tree lady.

@Saar93 Agreed, that was really touching. Even though it was a really obvious "training arc" and Jinka's realization came pretty easy and quick, his big moment made sense and made him likeable.

Like I say every week: what a charming, heartfelt, fun show.

Didn't like the mountain goddess character that much but every other part of this episode was great, really enjoying Shinsuke and Jinka's characters so far and it looks like Tama is going to get some development soon.
You know the British Empire was pretty cool, we definitely peaked with it.

I liked that we got a ton of information in this episode, but the tone was all over the place. I didn't care for the goofy parts, and they lessened the emotional impact of Jinka's moment a little. Still very much enjoying this anime, though I hope that the tone evens out in the coming episodes.

The mountain goddess saving Shinsuke, Tama and Jinka's asses and wanting them to awaken Taizen...it's easier said than done.

The Tengu being defeated by Senya, it defintely was a spell to get both him and Jinun lost and not reach them. But to correct Taizan from the Dangaisyuu's brainwashing, it needs 3 entities: the man himself, and the youko Kuzunoha, who was Tama's mother, and not surprisingly, Yazen has her father too, experimenting on katawara turning into humans. And Rinzu coming back from the crows for her report, she sure likes to play tricks with them both. The most important part is the training of the trio while time is inherently slowed down, which the goddess has heard stories from Jinka's parents as well.

Jinka facing Rinzu in a space where death is not an issue, it's the focus of the mind, which he will have it tough if he doesn't think the right way. For both Tama and Shinsuke, they're attached to the mountain goddess in her own chibi likings, while Senya takes action removing the annoying ayakashi. But Jinka also having the fairy eyes, and as a katawara who refused to accept his own shortcomings as someone walking around with bad luck, he needs to overcome that and know his place in the real world.

Shinsuke being the first to get out of the spell...and meeting Senya on the way out, what are the odds...

Amount of bullsh*t involved around Shinsuke makes me hate this series slowly, Jinka having brother and if one of them dies both of them dies bullsh*t is another problem as well, honestly at this point I'm pretty sure writer of the series is not talented at all, and has no f*cking idea about what he is even doing...
