Let's leave aside Sasha and think logically. Is Gabi really a bad character? To me, she's the best-written female character in AoT besides Historia. Her character development was very good and she completely redeemed herself

As said, the emotions towards Sasha give too hasty an opinion, but the overall evolution makes him an excellent character from my point of view!

Gabi is Eren from other perspective ...if you think Gabi is a badly written character then Eren is a bad character and if you think so then no point of watching AOT.

She’s definitely really well written, she’s the foil to Eren on the other side of the coin. We dislike her due to the perspective she’s written in, she’s ignorant, indoctrinated, and hates the characters we’ve followed the whole time simply because of their nationality. Once she really interacts with them and learns they’re people just like her and her family, she realizes her mistake in her mentality, and feels ashamed of the indoctrination.

Yes, she is.
Anyone who would watch AOT starting from Final Series and without any prior knowledge would draw comparisons between her and Eren.
Most people made imnidiet judgement because she killed favourite comic relief character and that's it.

she is the female version of eren when he was lil. I hated her at first cuz of her hatred towards eldians though she was a eldian. But now I think she has redeemed herself

one of the stupidest characters in AOT
she is literally a plot device to show how stupid a character can be due to being brainwashed
I think this character wasn't necessary at all. Reiner and Falco could be enough to prove the point as they can make you sympathize with eldians who lived in Marley
so if you think any character who gets an arc is a well-written character. I don't think so

Yes, Gabi is a well written character because, being of her age she brings her own twist to the already existing things. She is a well developed character as compared to her age. She is special.

As much as I love Sasha, Gabi's a great character. Hating a character ≠ bad writing (for example, I like how well Joffrey from game of thrones makes me hate him). Anyhow, based on her perspective, Gabi is very much justified for her actions and people's opinions on her are just biased.

I still don't like her for what she has done to Sasha but besides, she is one of the best well written female characters in Aot. I think she is similar to Eren and you can understand why she hates her own race and Paradise people cuz the culture she live in and her family effected her so much. I like her about written but not as character. I can understand but still not like

Gabi was well-written. I certainly don’t hate her. She served an important roll in the show giving us a young old-Eren like character. Her arc was well-paced and interesting. That’s all great. My issue with Gabi is that I don’t understand why she was written to be so central for two major battle scenes. I get she’s a warrior candidate, but she’s still a child. Having a child with a sniper rifle decapitate Eren and later take down Floch, in both cases out of nowhere at the very end of the battle… it’s irritating. My issue isn’t that those things happened, but that it was Gabi who made them happen. I feel it takes something away from an incredibly written character like Floch when, at his moment of triumph, at the height of his arc, he’s felled not by a worthy adversary, but by a little girl who can’t even handle the kickback from her own weapon.

She was a kid and was brainwashed to think that for the island people they are suffering. They are the devil. She acted exactly the way she was taught.
If you let go of your anger for what she did to Sasha for a minute, she is truly one of the most realistic and relatable characters in Attack on Titan.

A well-written character does not need to redeem itself because what it did in the show did not align with your expectations or made you feel a certain way. A well-written character is a multi-faceted character or a complex character that, in the case of Gabi, sheds light on the dangers of propaganda, dehumanization of the "other", and brainwashing. Gabi faced internal and external conflict as a character; she had to deal with the suffering inflicted upon her by Marley and learn to live or rather fight to earn the respect of her oppressors. She also lived through internal conflict, that of seeing the other side, the humanity of the people behind the walls, and how similar they were to her. Gabi is a great character, I have come to like her character even more. She is second to Reiner in my opinion and I think her role conveyed what needed to be conveyed.

I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

a mary sue is someone who is granted power beyond the established capability of humans, if gabi is a mary sue then what is mikasa... gabi is shown to be trained and has fought in war for a few years, shes about as capable of killing as eren was as a child, eren wasnt trained to kill but managed to kill three adult criminals on his own with a knife... wheres that same energy.

Gabi is one of the best written characters in the show. Arguably, it won't be an overexaggeration to say she is a serious contender to the title of the best written character in the entire series. One might like her, someone else may hate Gabi, another person can just be neutral towards her, but purely writing-wise, Gabi is a great character.
