| Season 1 adapted 480 to 542 (62 chapters) and season 2 is adapting 543 to 613 (70 chapters). The TYBW has 206 chapters and 132 will be adapted by the end of season 2, leaving 74 chapters for season 3 and 4 to adapt. Kubo said he wanted to include extra in the adaptation, so that explains why the studio is rushing season 1 and 2. Unfortunately, only 52 episodes were greenlit, rather than the generous 64 greenlit for FMA Brotherhood. |

Because people were claiming that even back when the first cour was still in production, yet so far we've only had a few major anime exclusive scenes, the biggest one being Shinji's Bankai debut which only lasted like a minute... |
| Consider the following: - Second invasion (cour 2) and Soul King Palace Invasion (supposedly cour 3 and 4) are notably known for being more of a JoJo-style back-to-back cool fight display. -For that reason, Cour 2 is able to adapt a ridiculous number of chapters that are mostly all dedicated to quick action scenes with a huge amount of double-spreads, meaning that you could read a chapter in less than 3 minutes even if paying a lot of attention to the drawings themselves. This was, during the weekly publication, very detrimental for being so glacially slow to go through, and far better appreciated in a marathon with the volumes in hand (or, of course, the anime right now, which barely trims unimportant content -or makes it an eyecatcher if relevant- and leaves the fast pacing of a marathon intact). - Cour two will cover 7 volumes at least, which is just what is missing to basically cover the entire final part of the story similarly structured with a few exceptions (very few flashbacks and infodumpy chapters about lore goodness in-between battles). - Meaning, even if just adapting the rest of the content, there's about an entire cour worth of episodes for whatever they may want to do extra for this arc (meaning, part 3 will likely be radically different and may also start to use elements from the novel sequels/entirely new content). - Considering this adaptation especifically adapts the final arc on itself, it's highly unlikely the final cour will be dedicated to adapting the 3-book sequel by themselves, marketing-wise. Conclusion, what is to be expected is basically: Cour 1 and 2: Compact and solid adaptation expansion from the two invasions to Sereitei, though missing some little scenes from the manga (most of the comedy is gone). Cour 3 and 4: Highly likely a full blown expansion of the entire final act with (hopefully) a non-rushed finale. |
