Do you think there's enough bullying in this season?

We're 3 episodes in and we have yet to see any real bullying... There's only some soft teasing, akin to what is done in Takagi-san

I really liked season 1 because Nagatoro would be quite rough with her bullying, while senpai would get really upset and even cry, but so far in this season we're just back to the generic "timid guy/teasing girl" trope. Nagatoro is just too soft on senpai, and senpai is getting too comfortable around her. I wish we could see Nagatoro be a bit meaner, and make senpai cry, even if she regrets it afterwards. What do you think?

I guess as the story progresses Senpai warms up to Nagatoro's way of bullying and misses it when she's not around. Similarly Nagatoro has become soft and has started developing feelings for her Senpai.. naturally the bullying has lessened.

The way I see it, her bullying was a way of hiding her feelings/embarrassment. That's just my opinion, but if you agree with me, and if she's developing feelings for senpai, shouldn't she be even meaner with him?

it's called story progression and character development.
thing is...this is not a long run episodic manga like Takagi-San is. what Takagi San did during years of episodic non connected teasings, this cannot do.
we saw the story progression of Takagi until S3 and the movie, and that progression was sped up and refined specially for the anime precisely because the manga has almost 0 progression.

Nagatoro doesn't have the luxury of going slow, focusing on the comedy and teasing, and become such a copy paste of Takagi.

I really like that it became more wholesome. I enjoyed first season a lot, but its only natural that they would explore their relationship more in the second. Imo of course.

Nobody ever said there is bulling in this show.
The "bulling" came from mistranslation of the title. We have teasing at most.

People always shit on this series because of the bullying even though it becomes a regular rom com after a few episodes

I think it was bullying, at least for the first few episodes of season 1. She was being repeatedly mean with senpai, who was a stranger at the time, and senpai clearly wasn't enjoying it... That's not teasing, that's bullying. And I really appreciated that about those episodes. Now don't get me wrong, I also like the wholesomeness of the show, but the bullying was what made it stand out for me.

But come on. In season 1 senpai was crying, he was wearing a dog collar, he was being stepped on by 3 JK at a time... Where's all that in season 2?

I think the manga handles the beginning where Nagatoro is meaner a bit better because it shows her thoughts the couple times she makes senpai cry where she thinks “did I go too far?” Through the beginning of the manga and the anime, Nagatoro is feeling out senpai and figured out what kinds of teasing actually hurts him and what gets the best reactions out of him where he seems to be secretly enjoying it as well. They learn each other’s limits and then grow together. I think some of the other characters tease and embarrass senpai as well, but I don’t think anything makes him cry like the first couple episodes/chapters did.

this series has evolved past the need for constant bullying, these two are extremely close to just being a couple now, lol. There's always still going to be teasing, it's part of their relationship, but for anyone who got onboard just for that, the series is going to increasingly disappoint them.

This is how the series progresses. The only real bullying so to speak is in the beginning of the series. It becomes more of playful teasing as it goes in the manga and the anime is following suit. The character progression is one of the best things about this series in my opinion.

The show make it clear that Nagatoro only use bullying as an excuse to get close to Senpai and she did. As you can see even from the first to last ep of season 1. The bullying happened less and less aggressive, and in the last 2 eps only focused on their relationship. I think the 2nd season has to keep up where it left off so of course it can’t be like the first ep of season 1 because something called character development and story progression

Eh, I think I prefer this over bullying which was very apparent in the first few eps of season 1.

If you're a fan of the bullying and haven't read the manga, I'm sorry to say that it only gets tamer as time goes on, but the story definitely gets better, more focused and less episodic

I think this season isn't as good as the first, precisely because of this. The first season had development, it went from legit bullying to romance "pretend" bullying. Now it's just gonna stay "pretend bullying" and repeat the same trope every episode. Still very enjoyable though

Since when Nagatoro was about bullying? If you mean when Nagatoro treated senpai more harshly that was only the first couple of episodes, you won't see more of that.

Her early bullying was always overexaggerated to frame her as a sadist, when in reality she isn't anywhere near as "tough" as you're led to believe, as we witness her get easily embarrassed any time the gag/teasing gets flipped back onto her. From what I recall of the manga you shouldn't expect to see any more bullying whatsoever by this point in the story, not that there's been any since probably midway through the first season.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

Less bullying? I might actually rank this higher than the first season. Hate abuse humor, but had a buddy that kept badgering me to watch Nagataro. Managed to actually make Love Hina look good. Would sure love for it to make Love Hina look bad again, though. Nothing has yet to match the scene of Keitaro being kidnapped and getting blamed for it, alongside them pitying his captor.

I honestly think they should have changed the first few episodes to tone down the “bullying”, as it’s really not in character with the rest of the manga at all where it’s all just playful teasing and banter. Either they kept the early episodes the same to remain true to the source material or they wanted to capitalise on the controversy to help the ratings. Either way, too many people seem to have the wrong idea about the show because of those early episodes, and that’s a shame, especially in the case of people who couldn’t watch it because they thought it was a show about bullying.

I think there should be less "bullying" (if it can be called like this now) and quality of it should be upped. Because generally now all it came to calling him "creepy", repeating his speech, and usual slightly hitting him. It became stale and thus boring. In first season it was good, because it was fresh, also methods of bullying were more elaborate. For example, how Nagatoro made him cry by staging scene in manga, how Nagatoro's friends put a leash on him. But in 2nd season it's just an endless "kimoi", "kimoi", "kimoi"... It made me to think "ugh, when you'll shut the fuck up".
So I think there should be less this useless, overused verbal assault and more elaborate actions.

I do think a number of scenes in the first scene qualify as bullying regardless of the characters' intent. The amount of bullying and teasing will naturally soften over time as the relationship develops to be sure. But at the same time they're both into this dynamic, so it feels like it slowed way down too fast. If this is one way they show affection and desire, it doesn't make sense for it to almost completely disappear so early.

It is part of the progress of history. I'm in the final episodes and there's almost no Bullying. I totally agree with this significant reduction, as it allows the feelings of both to develop better.

The teasing in this one was lighter than in the first season, which is why I probably still prefer the first season a tiny bit more. But I don't think there wasn't enough of it at all.
