The drop rate can be found in the Shinobi stats page, it's 10% which is wild. |
| This whole guilt-by-association thing is really starting to piss me off. If a drunk driver barreling down a school zone and murdered my family by going double the speed limit, I would blame and wish death upon the drunk driver himself, not his family...(unless they tried to bail him out or get a lesser slap-on-the-wrist-sentence, then that's another story). But here, I'm sure the Koga son can clearly just how incompetent of a "ninja" Itoki is, let alone knowing the prior background info they must have on him already where he was a nobody. So to have that much blind rage really makes him look like quite the asinine numbskull. Since they showed the dead leader being experimented on, I guess being totally dead is off the table? I wonder if we'll see the crazy bitch Satomi Tsubaki come back after her "suicide", with something like cloning tech. That would really be an interesting take, a sci-fi approach to "shadow clones". I think the only saving grace of this is the deception techniques, betrayals, switching sides/double crossing near the end of episode; a staple of a the ninja subgengre, as cliched as it is. That, and Tokisada being a badass. Seems like this should have been his show instead, and have it tell how he got to be the badass that he is today, selling souvenirs by day, unraveling grand conspiracies by night. My bad habit of shipping characters is happening again; I'm already shipping Tokisada with the slightly clumsy short-haired cutie that failed tailing him in the air ducts, but is trying her best. As others have pointed out, the "talk no jutsu" during the practical exam was cliche as well, but fitting, I suppose, since this is a ninja series after all. I'm curious about where the hell the Koga students got the unreleased camo masks though. Is Itoki and friends not concerned about that as well? My score went from a 9 in the first fresh episode, to a 6 after I had enough of this episode. But it's a time waster until better shows come out. Or who knows, maybe this is just a slow start and will get better later, but I'm not holding my breath. |

Like Smudy said, every entry on MAL has a statistics page. Having a 10% dropped / watched ratio before even reaching the halfway point is crazy bad. For comparison: Sword Reincarnation, which is a very generic isekai but has a cute execution, has 2.1k dropped vs 70.6k watching = 3% drop ratio.  |
