That’s a common sentiment I hear for the earlier parts of the first season. If you can get past that it should really pull you in.

Chihayafuru is more focus in karuta than romance.
Yeah, and sadly, that's why I didn't get very far into Chihayafuru to begin with. The game itself just wasn't terribly interesting to me. Which is a shame because it looks good and I'm a huge fan of Luci Christian (the lead VO actress).
PinkHeart19 said:if you haven't already watched tamako market i definitely recommend it and it's sequel movie following the love story between the ml and fl called tamako love story. also please watch the bakuman series if you like that classic romance style. it's very cute and one of the best romance anime I've ever seen.
I have not watched, or even heard of, either of those. They've been added to my list!
TheYoungling1 said:Just Because! is a simple slice of life that has similar themes to tsukigakirei
Yup, watched, and I loved it. Mentioned it in the opening thread.
Kazumasteals said:I have always like you, is a fun watch.
Ahhh! I saw a short clip of this years ago and never got around to finding out where it was from. Thank you!

If you're just looking for something with a similar aesthetic and vibe then Hourou no Musuko and Isshuukan Friends(this one isn't romance, tho)
I actually considered those three a while ago, and I had them lower on my priority list because none of them are dubbed. Glad to hear someone has something good to say about them though!

you can watch kono oto tomare , convenience store boy friends , tonikawa over the moon , nisekoi (not dubbed) , love, chunibyo & other delusions , blue spring ride
Yup, someone above suggested Sounds of Life.
Added Convenience Store Boy Friends, though the low rating on MAL kind of worries me.
Watched Tonikawa already and hyped for the second season!
Nisekoi... I recall picking this up a while ago, and passing because it seemed kind of on the silly side?
What makes Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions! so good? Or maybe memorable? Because I swear people left and right were giving this attention a few years after it aired. Not that I'm doubting it's good... I'm just curious why people are drawn to it so much?
Blue Spring Ride's been on my list a while and got bumped down in priority a bit because it doesn't have a dub. Will definitely consider it again though.

Furuba
golden time
oregairu / nisekoi (50~50 might don't like it with how it ends)
I tried so hard to like Saekano but I just couldn't get through more than a few episodes. It was way too silly for my liking with a story that I wasn't drawn to. I'm sorry!
Funny story about Fruits Baskets... my fiancé reminded me that we apparently talked about watching this a while ago because it was stupid popular... and then never did. So it's on my list (again) now.
Golden Time I got a few episodes in and didn't really care for the story.
How much of My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu is comedy driven? Because that genre really doesn't drive me much, sadly.
Cross_2D said:Please watch Oregairu, it’s a bit more comes focused and different from the rest, but believe me it’s amazing. Take it from another romance enjoyer, I’ve watched mostly all school life + romance animes or read them.
Though your argument makes it seem awfully appealing...
Aesethyr said:Hi mate. theres a ton I wanna recommend.
check my anime list. i loved Slice of Life and Romance its mostly what I watched.
My most favorite one is Tonikawa.
Yup, watched Tonikawa already.
I've already seen most of the stuff on your profile to some degree (or it was mentioned above). What I'll say is that Love is War really didn't appeal to me, sadly.
Lucky_Infinity14 said:Fruit Basket is not same as Tsukigakirei but I love watching fruit basket and I am right now re-watching Horimiya 4th Time and I also watch Tsukigakirei 5 times I love this series a lot🥰
Yeah, I've definitely watched both Tsukigakirei and Horimiya a few times extra. They're so good!
Malzahir said:uhhh, Quintessential Quintuplets? I know it ain't exactly realistic and is part of the harem genre but it does have very good character and romantic feelings developments like tsuki ga kirei unlike most garbage tier romances.
I've already seen it. Currently waiting for the movie to get dubbed and make it's way over here officially.

Just realised that you already watched it. Oops.
Whoops. Yeah I should have mentioned it in the opening thread that Girls' Love series I do watch. Bloom Into You is one of my very favourites of all time - I own the manga, anthologies, light novels and premium version for the Blu Ray collection, haha.
