Title. I really don't know much about the RWBY franchise except for a poster I saw awhile back. However, with that being said should I watch this? IMHO it looks pretty mediocre the only thing appealing seems to be studio Shaft animating it. So what should I do? For the people who has watched the first 3 eps already is it worth? |

If you want some eye candy by shaft, and some cool action scenes, then yes. Otherwise, no. The pacing is absolutely horrendous right now, and it feels like this was done out of fun and for the fuck of it than actually telling the audience anything. Too many scenes have been jammed into a few minutes for it to make sense of anything. It becomes very noticeable for OG fans of the series at ep 2 and 3. |

It's beginner friendly. ScuzzyBear said: So what should I do? Check the first 3 episodes and you will know for sure - like drop it if it's not your cup of tea. Personally I kind of like it. It had one awkward moment in the second episode and two such in the third episode but the rest is OK. I prefer the original of course but this is an interesting experiment in my book. ScuzzyBear said: I'll skip over it after seeing your take Wow, you are easy to thrust badmouthing... Only a RWBY fan can see it and complain about it...tho time will show if they can keep the show decent. |

Characters are bland, OST is bland, action scenes poorly thought of, no attention to detail, most of what happens makes no sense at all since it is missing most of what brought the characters and teams colour. |

Got a huge Fanbase and is kinda longed for, for a while now Studio Shaft involved. So visuals will be beautiful. There are cute Girls, swinging giant weapons around. If I'd know nothing else, but these things about the Anime, I'd say: Give it a shot |

Comparing to the original series, this one has a bit faster pacing. Some fights have very good animations (mostly for RWBY members), some are average. Music and voice acting are great. Story is nothing extraordinary, it's kinda fun to watch. IMO, try first 3 episodes yourself, then decide. |

Asking other people wouldn't help you finding shows which will fit your personal taste tho. What if the first person to answer was a hyped fan who liked the show despite it being not good? ScuzzyBear said: So far two people commented on this thread with the same take. If you read carefully their posts you will see that their takes are not identical...blacknemesist is obviously a hater and the profile is suspiciously new. And you decided after one response...at least wait for a day or two to see the consensus or something. |

You can watch it from YouTube. As a OG fan I just felt like the pacing was really abrupt..but it might be better for beginners. |

this is definitely worth watching! I cant say that its an instant hit after 3 episodes but I can say that it has the potential within the animation and characters to be really good even though the animation goes from 3 to 10 to 12 on a scale of 10 with the story going really fast without proper explanation of the story or power system I can say that this is going to be a banger |

Coming from someone who watched the original RWBY, this story isn’t the same as the Original. The 1st episode consisted of 1-3 episodes with the 1 and 2 being recaps of the originals volumes 1-3, and the episode 3 being the start of the new story. The characters aren’t exactly bland, but I can’t really speak much sense this is a new story and I haven’t read the source material for this. Personally I would say give a try, if you don’t like it then there’s nothing wrong with that; but this mainly like a good thing for RWBY fans and Monty Oum the original author( RIP), he originally wanted the series to get a proper anime adaptation and I didn’t happen so he went with Roosterteeth and did his own adaptation. I say give it a try. |

To be fair on the second point, the ones in charge of the project said they were going to wrap up volumes 1 and 2 in the first 2 chapters. Of course, it was impossible |

I would say yes. It works well for newcomers and while it can feel rushed for people who have watched the original I don't think it is actually that rushed. It is just a different story. Two of the main characters are actually quite different from what they were in the original series. tldr Yeah give it a shot it. Fun/10 |

I'd say give it some time to publish more episodes, man. The world of RWBY is wonderful once you're properly immersed in it. But right now, you should check out things like Link Click or some other cool shows to watch. The first 3 chapters are a mess but some moments are pretty good. |

It was fun at the being of the series like the epic food fight but the story is lacking since the creator died after season three and from there the show start being a mess. They also never explain how this magic system work. |

studio shaft is like the perfect studio to adapt RWBY so . . . this is gonna be the best rwby you'll ever get. as for the story, it's kinda take it or leave it. action directing of the original was god tier tho thats all i can say. |

I guess these kind of posts are pointless, cuz in the end you are likely to do what you feel like. If you are a Shaft fan, you'll watch atleast these 3 episodes. If you're a RWBY fan, the same applies. Everyone else is passer by seeking validation for the decision they've already made. If you don't wanna watch it, you'll pick an opinion same as yours. If you really wanna try it, well, you wouldn't have made a post if you really wanted to watch it. Here's my take - RWBY has always been a cliché show where deep writing is absent (atleast that's what I've heard from some of og fans). It's all about smooth action scenes. Shaft has already given me some of memorable action sequences from this season in this show, but that's very subjective. So far there has been no noticeable drop in quality (well it's Shaft so don't expect consistent animation and style while airing), so for those oy planning to watch it after it completes airing, wait for Blurays instead. As an anime only watcher of RWBY, I think we've got basic plot introduction, and pacing might be an issue for those coming from original series because there's no way you can put hours worth of content in 3 episodes. Thankfully, future episodes will be canon adjust so less to compare to original. Overall, it's good and I'll be looking forward to 4th episode. |

Honestly if you want the RWBY experience I think it's just better to watch the original show. There are some nice looking fight scenes in the 2d remake but the original fight scenes are just smoother and have waaay more impressive choreography in the original. Monty Oum would fall asleep in his office from animating those fight scenes mostly alone. Most of the humor that made season 1 watchable outside of these great fight scenes were cut straight out making the dialogue very boring and to top it off the pacing is wonky as many have already said. But really it's just up to you in the end. This is my opinion as a fan of RWBY for years. |

If you are familiar with RWBY, this is already a massive step up considering the shithole that Roosterteeth has dragged it into since Volume 3. If you don't know, try it but if you don't feel drawn in after the first 20 minutes, skip it. |
Don't believe the hype. |

tbh I might just be a tiny bit little bit tiny bit biased towards shaft that's why I said in my op that that's the only thing I see appealing about it. but I did watch it and it wasn't bad, id agree the pacing was wack af but aside from that, it was okay. |

Eh idk why everyone is so happy with Shaft doing the animation since almost their projects are very inconsistent quaity wise and sadly its the same with RWBY as well. Of course, there are some very well done sakuga fight scenes but most of the time its just janky, stiff, awkward and lazy animations throughout. As for the pacing I dont really mind tbh. Sure its rushed as hell but I get it they want to speedrun through the introduction to get into the new storyline. Hopefully the pacing will be better on latter episodes once they just focus on the new story. |

New scenes and characters, very close to the concept of a spinoff. |

I used to watch RWBY at the very beginning of the series and I personally think this has some potential. The first 3 episodes seem like they’re just meant to set up the series which hopefully lead to a better story than the original. If you’re new I would wait for a few more episodes to come out then see what the consensus is about the anime as I think they might be going in a different direction than the orginal work. |
