More and more training...

While it is an important episode, this was more of a slow buildup again and I personally wasn't entertained by it. Everyone in this show better take that training center seriously as it could make or break careers.

The 2nd half of the show starts with a new arc and timeskip, and the jockey students are still trainees, but on their way to be professional jockeys, which involves verbal abusing by the instructors in the different colored track suits, depending on the mood.

Shun with horse Oak Nature a.k.a Kisuke is a match made in heaven, and its previous owner Miku Kashino has some fond memories of it, but it's on the verge of retirement with the upcoming race attendance. To anybody, Shun's skill of reading horses would be essential, but with new horses like Oak Diamond a.k.a Kirarin making the scene with its maiden race, it's bound that they will push it until it can no longer push anymore.

At least Shun is a character that has use being part of the character cast to make a difference on using his unparalleled "horse talk" skills to birth new legends, let's see.

After the time skip it's like a different anime, completely tone change!
Episode 1-7 are like innocence boys aiming for the same goal, and ep8+ like loss of innocence.
Distracting elements like idols and mass media are all gone. Now it's pure horseracing.
In fact, I was preparing for the worst when I heard Kisuke will be retired, because Japan is one of a few countries where horse meat is somewhat popular. They wouldn't eat meat from race horse due to high muscle and low fat, making it unappetizing, but I'm still afraid.
So I was relieved when he'll just go back to another farm, which will probably treat him worse than current stable, but at least he's still alive.
I'm wondering if there could be a way to support horse racing without gambling...

I was worried the boys might be separated, but the three are still together. And, Eri is also there for some reason.

OP visuals changed! The older instructors are gone!!!

I knew this episode would focus on Shun, and it was nice seeing his POV. But, I am a bit worried now. Is he going to end up suffering through some bad things? The episode even began with him jerking awake as if he had a nightmare. I really don't want sunshine-boy to get sad.

Yuu changed a lot. I need to know what's going on with him.

The argument between Yuu and Kuji was quite overly dramatic with a very dramatic music. But, I was not really able to understand its significance. It felt like the scene was framed way more dramatically than it needed to be.

It seems Yuu has a job now. Is Kuji his work senpai? Or his instructor? Or both?

I was so worried about the possibility that the retired horse would get killed. But, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Some parts were a bit boring this episode. Like when Shun was giving us a tour around the place, while giving some updates on what changed. And, the new characters acting like we've always known them. But, I enjoyed it overall.

Very well, we've move out from the boys learning under the school lesson about horse racing, to a very professional approach where they attend the training center for real on some of the stable that gathered around there as a trainees. Four of them were there, but don't know what happened to the errand boy and the obedient happy-go-round kid. The environment requires them to changes and the english boy trying to convince some rebel, but got denied by Yuu because his determination to be a pro jockey changed his whole way of thinking. Shun seems enjoying his new life with those horse, and got a chance to also escorting a cute high schooler girl, the daughter of the diamond horse owner, into some little tour. The old man finally realized how Shun can be a creep sometimes when he's projecting the race with just hearing their footsteps into his mind. But, the new intructor of those stable thinking out of the box when Shun talent might lead them into profit and victory, so she needs to take the dangerous risk on him. Can Shun fulfill the expectation from the mistress and promoted himself to get a chance to jockey Kirarin? Or another route?

Let's see next!

the training has started, yu and his friends are working hard in this training. Yu and Kuji's relationship is really cute 😁😁😁, they seem to fight a lot and have different opinions and are very strict but I like that kind of relationship. if they stick together they will be invincible... maybe. by the way i'm curious about yu's power if shun has been shown from the start but yu is still mysterious πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

I enjoyed this episode. The character development is interesting. I want to see how the boys use their particular strengths, as well as deal with their personality flaws, to succeed in the horse racing world. The characters also were forced to deal with the difficulty of retiring a horse that they have grown to love. The kids are growing up quickly. I feel that this show is underrated. I watch a lot of "laid back" anime and this has some of those qualities. It's a nice relaxing show.

Favorite episode so far. Shun's relationships with the horses has always been delightful, and it's great seeing it have tangible results (and creeping out his co-workers)
